  1. Don't want to be a party pooper but i really don't see Martin Jol wanting t ocome to villa, I mean why would he ??

Mate, he tried everything he could to get away and join Fulham. I think therefore he would run 500 miles to join Villa if we showed an interest.

Everything he could? Did he resign then?

No, he didn't resign. I'm surprised you didn't know that. :| However, it is clear to see that the relationship he has at Ajax is about as solid as a piece of ice in Hawaii. It would not take much to persuade him to come to Villa IMO - and even if he doesn't for whatever reason, I doubt he will finish the season at Ajax.

Personally I don't think Jol was ever interested in leaving Ajax, he just used the Fulham talk to get more money out of the Ajax board.

  2. Looking like you've had a stroke is not a crime though, it's an opinion that is not asserted as a fact. Being a paedophile most definitely is a very serious crime, and saying "you paedophile" at someone is asserting it as a fact. Very different.

Well I think you are splitting hairs.

Football fans of all clubs give abuse to figures they dislike. I don't think Spurs fans actually think Wenger is a paedophile, the are just idiots being abusive, like our fans do to Redknapp.

  3. Different people react in different ways. I had a mate who always used to vomit when he smoked pot, we found it pretty funny.

I'm guessing some people react in other ways as well.

  4. There is a difference between a joke based on word play and actually levelling an accusation at someone. Nobody on this site has made the accusation about Redknapp that you claim this post proves.

Any such claim and the person who made it would be delbt with by the moderators of this site. So please be a little more careful with the accusations that you throw around especially when they aren't supported by facts.

You on the other hand seem to be making the accusation that Wenger looks like one...

All fans have digs at people in the game ours included but don't try and compare a couple of obvious word play gags with the years and years of abuse your lot have directed at Wenger, there really is no comparison.

Your post loses a lot of its impact when not two posts later we get this one:

I think at half time, thats the most furious ive ever seen Redknob. He looked like he was seething!

they said that on SSN, and even after id watched it on the loop 2/3 times i still couldnt see it

guess i just couldnt get past the usual picture i have in my head when it comes to arry

  5. Personally I tend to watch matches in Cafe Kick on Shoreditch High St. It's a pretty popular table football bar (host the English TF championships!) and has sky sports 3D. I don't know of any dedicated Villa pubs though (strangely there is actually a West Brom pub off Hackney Rd called "The Albion")

  6. Redknapp has a good knowledge of young boys. In fact, it's said, he has plenty of videos on his computer of them.

That's from the previous page, took the whole of four seconds to find.

I think you'll find that's what's called a joke, a piece of not particularly witty wordplay based on the name of your opponents.

Presumably there's a similar reason why Spurs fans chant "Sit down you paedophile" at Arsene Wenger?

Oh what's that? There isn't? Oh.

It's no better/worse than the things people on here and at matches say about Harry Redknapp. Football fans getting sanctimonious about other fans chants is a but rich...

  7. Bellamy joined Cardiff on loan for the season

I think that this is the first sign of the Premier League's next major problem.

Bellamy is a tosser, but he would be useful to any of the chasing pack in the Premiership.

Citeh know how useful he is and are therefore paying him to play outside the league.

So, the 'best league in the world' loses one of its top-class performers because its richest club can afford it, thus rendering it no longer able to call itself the 'best league in the world'

The amount of talant City have brought into the league from Italy and Spain and Germany outways this one player leaving the league though.

  8. I think folk need to accept they are not going to like the appointment.

Not just because you've never going to please everyone, but there only seems to be Jol and Hiddink who seems to have everyone agreeing.

Its not going to be either of them.

So whoever it is lets support them and see how they do.

Even if it is, god forbid Souness or Hughes!

You'd support Souness but not MON? You must have really hated the guy.

  9. What's up with Spurs?

They haven't bought anyone yet have they? Except that brazilian kid they lined up a year ago.

I can't imagion Harry being happy about the new season starting in two days and him not having been able to wheel and deal yet.

Surely this window is the only chance they get to play the "we can offer you Champions League" card because players will be cup tied in January (and perhaps not in the knockout stages anyway) and odds are they won't repeat last years feat of finishing ahead of Man City.

I am surprised they haven't brought in more high profile signings TBH. Perhaps the stadium plans have put a big drag on their transfer budget?

  10. Had the Ireland been a stand alone deal I doubt it would go through without a manager present. As it is tied in with the Milner deal then it either has to go through now or the whole Milner deal is also off and it sounds like the deal has realistically gone to far for that to happen.

Yes, it sounds like Ireland coming is crutial to the deal as Man City will not give us straight cash for Milner.

  11. Fulham might well accept it because we'd have to pay compensation which would effectively cover his contract. That's enough for at least one player if not two. Then they could easily get another unemployed manager (Zola, Curbs, Southgate) who would probably do an effective job at Fulham.

Fayed just sold Harrods and is richer than Lerner. I think he is looking forward to making a success of his new appointment and is not going to flog him off for a quick pound.

  12. I don't really get the Bellamy thing, I think he's just flavour of the month.

He's 31, older than Keane who people were saying was passed it, and he always relied on pace. He had loads of hamstring problems as well but with the rotation at city his endurance was not really tested last season.

I think he would be a waste of money for which ever club signed him personally.

  13. They've ruined the game.

    End of.

Yes it was all well and good when the usual suspects like Man U and Chelsea were poaching the cream of the premier leagues best prospects but now it is someone new the game is ruined!

You are taking the piss, surely?

    Embarrassment.

    No you don't get it.

    It's nothing new.

Two or three seasons down the line there will be a big 4 again just like there always was, it will be City instead of Liverpool perhaps but nothing will have changed. They won't be paying overinflated prices anymore because they will be in the same league as Chelsea and won't need to, players will be comming to them to play in the champions league and challange for the title. They will be able to "turn players heads" without having to offer stupid wages or massive transfer fees, just like Man U or Chelsea do.

Infact I suspect, much like Chelsea they will cut back the spending and start to generate their own funds from the new glory hunting fans around the world and Champions league money.

Nothing has changed, football is no more ruined than it was when Abramovich arrived.
