Typically coalition governments occur when you have proportional voting and all parties in those systems are used to and indeed expect to have to compromise policies to get things done.

British politicians are not used to that at all, compromise would be tricky if times were good but will be extremely difficult when record cuts are required.

I predict some interesting times ahead.

I don't expect a win but there is always the hope isn't there.

I think Bale is being judged on one game at LB, when he wasn't even as bad as is being made out. Why judge him on this game and not the other games he's played at LB this season? Lennon tortured Evra twice last season and that doesn't suddenly make him a bad LB. No one is going to have a good game every week, but Bale has done this more conssitently than most players in the Prem at both LB and LM.

being beaten for skill, pace, tricky is normal at some point for any left back. However being caught numerous times out of position is well alot worse.

Yes his positional sense at left back is poor but he can make up with it with pace. He is more effective playing on the wing where he can be covered better.

Perhaps the reading and positioning will come with experience but I remember saying the exact same thing about Richards at City and I am still waiting for him to mature.

Yes but I think the point they were making is that if you have millions of tonnes of ice in the form of a glacier sitting up on a hill and then melt it so it flows down to a different place that will cause some disturbance by the large shift in weight.

The system where I live is great, you get a local sponsor who can only bring you in to the country if it's proven that a local can't do the job. Your visa lasts for the duration of your employment. When the job is finished you go home.

That's funny, that is the exact system that exists in the UK.

A number of my Australian friends had to go home because their working holiday visa ran out. They could not get a work sponsor because their job has to be advertised first and shown that no local person can do it. Others who have managed to pass the test and get the local sponsor are only valid whilst they are employed, if they are made redundant they have to go back to Oz/New Zealand etc...

the localised immigration is nice in principle, but just wouldn't work and would not be able to be controlled. it would descend into chaos. Which is what I think people are worried about lib dems policies (some of them)

Nick Clegg received a series of payments from party donors directly into his private bank account, The Daily Telegraph can disclose.

The Liberal Democrat leader was paid regular monthly sums by three senior businessmen during 2006.

The same account was used to pay his mortgage, shopping and other personal expenditure, documents seen by this newspaper show.

Official records for 2006 show that Mr Clegg also claimed £90,526 in “staffing allowances” to pay his assistants and other staff. The records also indicate that he only had two people working in his parliamentary office that year. The maximum they could be paid in 2006 was £37,245 plus a pension and perks. During the same year, a part-time organiser was employed in Mr Clegg’s Sheffield constituency office on a salary of £8,966.

It is not clear why Mr Clegg would require the extra funds as the salaries were apparently covered by the taxpayer.

Comfortable win away against a team battling to stay for survival.
