  1. 1 game will not change 3 years of humiliation.
  2. Villa strategy... a) LONG BALL RUN RUN RUN c) SIDEWAYS PASS
  3. Wow. Our team now assumes that we won't win a ball.
  4. We might as well not be there. Why do we have no passing knowledge? Hull move forward, then pass back to allow midfield to reposition then attack again. Villa have no ideas. I'm afraid.
  5. Lambert has now surpassed McLeish. Wow. Now that's an achievement.
  6. AGREED. "dour scot" has become synonymous with Aston Villa
  7. Remember that season when we needed a point away to Norwich so we would stay up? Brian Little was in charge. That was the worst experience I've ever had. Till now. OH GREAT. GRANT SODDING HOLT. That's better then Darren Bent aint it. LAMBERT TW4T
  8. **** me. Ellis appointed O'Neil. (and Taylor, O'Leary, Little, Gregory) Learner and Faulker appointed McGeish, Houllier and Lambert... Who do you want making the choice?
  9. Signed 15 players. Worst Villa team we have ever had. GET LAMBERT OUT. GET ELLIS IN PURELY TO APPOINT A NEW MANAGER
  10. Let me just update myself with Lambert's signings.... Ryan Bertrand * Left-Back 23 Chelsea FC Premier League 31.05.2014 Grant Holt * Centre Forward 32 Wigan Athletic Championship 31.05.2014 Libor Kozak Centre Forward 24 SS Lazio Serie A 6.160.000 £ Jores Okore Centre Back 20 FC Nordsjaelland Superligaen 4.136.000 £ Aleksandar Tonev Left Wing 23 Lech Poznan Ekstraklasa 2.816.000 £ Antonio Luna Left-Back 22 Sevilla FC Primera División 1.760.000 £ Nicklas Helenius Centre Forward 22 Aalborg BK Superligaen 1.320.000 £ Leandro Bacuna Right-Back 21 FC Groningen Eredivisie 880.000 £ Jed Steer Keeper 20 Norwich City Premier League 475.200 £ Sooo with the exception of Okore who was unfortunate to be injured - is this not a total gong show of signings? Why sign the best striker in Denmark if he's not good enough for the premiership? (Why do we KEEP doing this??) How much of an insult is to to be a centre forward knowing the manager trusts Grant Holt over you? If you look at our transfers IN and OUT, Villa are BAD business. We never recoup, we don't make players worth selling so we are just losing money. It's no wonder Randy doesn't want to fork in anymore. MON blew us up on wages and every manager since has signed worthless crap that we take a loss on EVERY TIME. We've never replaced Petrov, Barry, Milner, Young, Carew, Laursen, Mellberg... Our academy is just not producing (Deflouneso? - how much of his combined wages have we spent on a worthless player). Lambert is the man in charge of overseeing all of this and his signings are just woeful, his tactics are bizarre and reek of something trying to appear as a tactician. Remember MON's 5 year plan? What the hell is Lambert's plan? Keep wasting money until we hit the championship? I don't trust him, but I don't trust ANY of Randy's appointments (Remember - DOUG appointed MON).
  11. Nobody wants to win for a manager who has lost the dressing-room.
  12. Don't give Lambert any money. He's just trying to find that one player that will make him look like a genius - that one bargain player that bangs in the only goal to keep Villa safe - he's tried it so many damn times. Our side is now littered with worse players on lower wages so at least we're getting what we paid for... uuugghhh. You know, why are we surprised? MON-->Houllier-->McLeish-->Lambert....
  13. The only way to get Paul Lambert out is for Villa to be relegated, but with some irony, we would then have a team and a manager suitable for that league. But considering that Faulker and Lerner have appointed nothing but dross (Doug brought MON in, don't forget that) - I really don't see the point. Lambert is all there is... Maybe we should just stop caring as much as he does.
  14. My base is that I'm an award winning director of cinema - I have studied the art an am paid to do so. I'm glad that your level of intelligence is able to judge such a castly shadow upon me - I'm idiotic because I do no agree with you and rather then discuss and use objectivity you choose to belittle and dismiss - what frightens you so? Idylic is the correct spelling, my mistake - a concept of an ideal situation. Ideal-lic - not a far stretch. Colin Firth is a great of British Cinema - remember that it's a cultural representation. Colin Firth was Mr Darcy, an iconic character that represented an era of detached disillusionment within the upper realms of high society. Plus if you've seen A Single Man, the level of discipline to portray a true ornate sadness in a film environment is remarkable. Actors have very tough roles to fill, film is start and stop, we shoot in small pieces and after 40 days we then have to link those pieces up and find the consistency in performance. For an actor to keep in the head space required when the on screen film time does not have any relation to the actual film production time - that, for me imo - is where the skill and talent of an actor is judged.
  15. Without going too off topic, and starting a debate about mental health (there is a thread for discussing such issues, I believe), you can have all the money in they world, be able to do what ever you want and still be depressed / have another mental illness / have an addiction. It's a disease that has no respect for wealth. I agree, but that's what i find most disturbing. Look at our society - we're under the impression that money and fame will cure everything - and we never reject this idea, we embrace it. I hate to say it, but this is why religion was so popular before the mass consumption of capitalist society. When people would feel sad, they were told that God loves them and they would take solice in that. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS CONCEPT. I'm an agnostic, I'm not preaching, I'm just making comment that I see some value in the positives that mass religion has. When you are born poor, born deformed mentally or physically, there is a 99.9% chance that you will carry a sadness with you your whole life -it can minor, it can be major - but it will effect every single decision you make. Greed is a product of fear, fear is a product of not understanding. "Why am in this life? Why am I this person? Why do I have desires for what I do no need to survive?" If you add all the intelligence of mankind up it still can't answer those questions difinitively, but someone thought of a way to gain power over frightened people. We use to just give our money to the churches and love and honour each other, now we give our money to corporations who offer us no solace, no comfort. Corporations wanted the churches to die so that money can truly become God, a God they can control, a God we will worship without question. Depression (imo) is the void that was created in the transition between faith and "freedom".
  16. Who do you think is a "true hollywood great" {insert usual Eastwood, DeNiro, Pachino references} There isn't a single bad PSH movie, his characters are incredibly intense and viseral. Just because he wasn't in Scarface doesn't mean you can pass judgement on what response the art community has. Magnolia, Capote, Almost Famous, Boogie Nights, Punch Drunk Love, The Savages, Synecdoche, New York, Mary and Max, Mission Impossible.... Really? Not a great? The only actor I can find who beats PSH in terms of ideallic supporting roles is Paul Giamatti. PSH wasn't a handsome leading man, he was never going to get the big iconic roles, but every performance he has ever given was real. THAT cannot be said for your greats who have performed like dross idiots in some movies. Oscar winner for performance means you are a Great - end of story.
  17. I'm completely at loss with this. PSH had been an addict at 20. He relapsed last year and now he's dead. Debate the drug laws all you want but the source is that someone didn't want to be conscious to the world around them and eventually the body just gave in to the minds demands and shut down. If Phillip Seymour Hoffman can win an oscar, have millions of dollars which would allow him freedom to exist outside of our slavery, and he still killed himself? Well, my own life feels pointless.
  18. No mate, it's saying that's how much he has spent on players and the facilities. Which is true, but what they aren't saying is how much the club turns over every year to justify that amount.
  19. Does anyone know why we have no youth players coming through? We have one of the best training facilities in the country and have yielded nothing but Championship exports - and then we BUY championship players? This doesn't make any sense to me. Why buy Ashley Westwood when we should be able to make one? Isn't that the idea of a youth team? Mold players to what the club needs? If the comment is RL cutting his costs and is still not selling the club then what are we doing with our development? How can you say that a Crewe player is worth buying over our whole youth team? So very confused.
