He did well goals wise for a team that got relegated.
I agree, I’d take him

I reckon Denis is ok.
Emmanuel from Watford? More of a winger for me, I rate him highly

We ain’t getting him for cheap… £70m minimum and if we’re lucky
I’d pay it for him, I rate him so highly and he’s been here before albeit on loan

See this is why I asked, I’m sincerely scratching my head to think of anyone better than we have, without (financially) slitting our wrists for
Tammy Abraham?

He creates such debate, for me, he is a fantastic player. If he does leave us permanently for Nottingham Forest or someone else, he will do well wherever he goes. He is at an age where he needs regular first team and an opportunity to showcase his talents. He has a very unique skill set, a great ability to hold up the ball, he’s so close to being a top Premier League striker but he just can’t do the hardest thing to do in football and that is to score goals regularly in the Premier League. This season for Nottingham Forest, he has scored 5 goals in 15 Championship matches and in all competitions, he has scored 5 goals in 21 matches for Forest, he will go on to have a great career

This still hasn’t been announced officially? Getting a bit worried now but that’s my pessimistic side, just need to be patient, good things come to those that wait. I have a good feeling about this transfer, even though I don’t think I have seen him play. I’ve only got YouTube clips to go on but he looks very commanding, I hope that he partners Mings at the back for us and they make a formidable partnership for us but there are some rumours of Newcastle United being in for Mings, I hope not, he was playing brilliantly for us at the end of last season. If this signing of Carlos does go through, we will have real competition for places at centre back with Callum Chambers, Ezri Konsa and Kortney Hause as our back up centre backs

I don't want to get too far away from the current transfer window, but I couldn't disagree more. He had more goal contributions per 90 minutes than anyone else on the team, even Coutinho. If he had been an automatic starter, his totals would have been higher. As for not giving 100%, I've seen him tracking back and defending around our box many times.
7 goals in 30 Premier League matches, less than 1 in 4, for me, it’s a poor return for an experienced Premier League striker that cost £25m. No such thing as an automatic starter, we have competition for places now in our squad

I think it was Defour and then he went to Burnley the following year I’m sure?
I had forgotten that, thanks for reminding me

Shit source but here’s the twitter link you guys wanted . I’m sure we were linked with him and another midfielder that’s Belgian(can’t remember his name) the summer before relegation. Was it Steven Defour? Or Axel Witsel?

Considering the excitement when Ings was signed, doesn't fans in general have too high expectations about other clubs' players?
If/when Villa sign a 20+ goal striker from Bundesliga or Ligue 1 the excitement will again be huge, only to fade when said striker scores 7-8 goals in his first Prem season.
It always happens and then the fans get on the player’s back, causing his confidence to be affected and then the player moves to another club

Bizarre take! Not been a great season like the rest of the team has up and downs. Still has a goal/goal assist every 146 mins. In a chop/change front line, significant bench time and first season at the club there is no way he’s been a flop. Not had a consistent run in the same position and changed systems up front he’s still got involved. He could’ve and should’ve done more but a flop, not in the slightest.
He was excellent for Burnley and Southampton, I was expecting him to take that form in to our team but it just hasn’t happened like that. Flop is a bit harsh perhaps but he’s at an age where he’s only going to decline. Nick76, you’re always quick to put down one of my posts. Our fans were so excited when we first signed him, me included but he just hasn’t performed to his maximum. He also doesn’t give 100% for the team in my opinion, when I watch him, he doesn’t bust a gut, he just ambles and he’s here for one last pay day

I remember the reaction on here when we signed Danny Ings, we all thought he was going to be fantastic for us, me included. 7 goals in 31 Premier League matches last season, less than 1 goal every 4 matches. He’s 29 years old, past the peak age for a footballer, he’s only going to decline. For me, he’s been a flop but I think football fans expectations generally especially of their own team’s players are too high. There’s a reason Liverpool didn’t keep him on their books and now we’re stuck with him

Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t we the most active club in the league regarding transfers? I could be wrong but I don’t think I am

On tv now, Sevilla-Atletico Madrid, 1-1 at half time. Diego Carlos played good, upgrade on Mings. Suarez starts up front, been awful.
What channel was it on?

A loan to see if he was any good as back up for Martinez. Now the staff and manager have seen him in training and in action they can make the call. I take @romavillan 's views as he has seen him play more than me.
Its Man City so a tough game but based on what I saw I wouldnt really want Olsen in goal for us next season if Martinez got injured. If Martinez did get injured, who would you want to see in goal for us next season?

Seen him a fair bit for Roma, and as most Roma fans will tell you he didn't exactly cover himself in glory.
That’s why he’s back up then, why do you think we brought him to Villa?

Abraham for me, just pay what Roma want for him. Chelsea shouldn’t have sold him in the first place
