James Wright, Ealing, Smith, Swinkels, Frith, Lindley, Rowe; Afoka, Tyreik Wright, Young, Barry.

Subs: Barber, Lane, Aaron O'Reilly, Myles Sohna, Finley Munroe, Todd Alcock, Caleb Chukwuemeka, Ajani Burchall, Kyle Pierre, Charlie Lutz, Mikell Barnes, Kobei Moore, Luke Softley.

Is that Triston Rowe in the starting line up?

Yeah but he doesn’t have the footballing ability of the likes of Ederson or Allison so some fans think we should look at replacing him. If only those keepers I’ve mentioned could make the kind of saves that Emi does, surely that is the most important attribute for a goalkeeper, especially for where we are in the league currently?

We finished 14th last season, I wouldn’t be surprised if Martinez wanted out. You are comparing him to 2 of the best keepers in the world there. He was still great last season but even he made a few mistakes, the season before, he was impeccable. Some fans want to replace him? With who? We aren’t in a position to recruit a keeper anywhere near as good as Martinez sadly. Aaron Ramsdale is great with his feet too, for me, he has been outstanding since Arsenal signed him

You shouldn't want to change it anyway. You take the mick out of yourself for rating all our youth players, but your username will forever be a reminder of one you got very, very right!

Thank you!! I still remember his debut against WBA, I think it was 9 April 2006. Cahill dominated Kevin Campbell, he was majestic, I knew from that game onward that we had a player on our hands. He’s had a great career since I thjnk

He really does play like a much more experienced centre back than he is. Hopefully by the time he is 19 or so he’ll be ready to sample first team football whereas most centre backs are more like 22 before they’re trusted.

Gary Cahill was ready, a man at 18 and performing really well on loan at Burnley. Feeney could have a similar career to Cahill if stays on the right track. Feeney seems to have a great attitude at 17, even Cahill didn’t make our bench at 16 like Feeney did

I notice that Ashley Young, Feeney, and Wilson are all signed to CAA Base and they all sign deals with us in the last 24 hours. Trezeguet also signed with them his deal was finalized in the last few days too. Going by that I wonder if Davis, also signed with CAA Base is next.

Didn’t Davis sign a new 4 year contract here not so long ago? Edit- he signed it in 2020, so he’s got 2 years to run

  6. In my opinion, us fans just need to be patient regarding incoming transfers. We had a great start to the window in terms of players coming in, we probably just need to shift a few before we bring any more in. I’ve been watching Wimbledon, that’s why I haven’t posted as much recently, we just need to hang tight as the kids say these days

    Him feeney Smith and swinkels

Surely we have to develop a first team CB from that 4, somethings gone wrong if we don't

Also, we signed Thierry Katsukunya from Coventry City and Triston Rowe from WBA, both of them are 16 year old centre backs, they’ll be first year scholars next season. I don’t think we should put too much pressure on these players considering their age

So a Tweet claiming we aren't after anymore CB's this window,

However, like you, I really think Collins is one someone should try to snap up before he becomes too expensive.

I really rate him too, whoever he ends up at he’ll be a success but with us already signing Diego Carlos, centre back is less of a pressing issue

Levels he couldn't reach with us sadly

I think you are forgetting how good he actually was for us. When he played for us, our only tactic was to pass to Grealish, it was embarrassing at times. My mate Noel says he’s the best he’s ever seen and he’s been going since the 1970’s I think

Not sure where he's going to get game time next season, we tend to use younger players in the U23s and he probably hasn't played enough U23 football to get a loan. Will have to just wait and see what happens I guess.

Yes, I agree, he must have something about him to be kept on by the club for this long

I saw him play a few times the season before last for the U23s, he looked quite skilful and seemed to have some promise... This is him with a clever assist for Barry against Wolves

I think if academy players miss a lot of time through injury then we tend to give them another chance.

We don’t usually give them as much time as we have with DJ Sturridge though. He must be quite a talent, to my knowledge, he’s barely played for the u18s or u23s, I think he has been inured a lot

'that trio were absolutely excellent in that match'

Oh, one didn't actually play in it?

    Brilliant 🤣😘

The 2 centre backs (Mings and Engels) were outstanding, Heaton was great in goal too. I just made a slight mistake, it happens! You can always rely on me! 😊

Nakamba didnt play until maybe the 5th/6th game that season

Thanks for correcting me, did Luiz play in defensive midfield that day? - edit, it was Hourihane, I had forgotten that

Mings gonna have a great season with Carlos as a CB partner and with Kamara there a metronome with keeping the ball ticking along

I remember Jack Woodward saying this about Mings, Engels and Nakamba against Spurs away in the first match of 19/20 after we got promoted back to the Premier League. It started so well, we were outstanding defensively and it promised so much, that trio were absolutely excellent in that match. I hope he doesn’t say the same this time, it just puts too much pressure on the player’s shoulders in my opinion

I like Chambers but I doubt the club see him as a centre half good enough to challenge for Europe.

    Cue.

    'I think he's great'.

From me? I do think he’s great and I always have done. He’s such an underrated player, Arsenal were silly to get rid of him
