  1. Amber Lamps is becoming the internet sensation of 2010
  2. I bet Paulie has as much power as Willie Limond. Or Michael Gomez You've got to admit Khan's defence has improved since then though. Of course it has....but no-ones actually hit him yet, apart from Barrera - and when that happened Warren was screaming at the ref to stop the fight I hate to sound like an annoying know all but I said all along that I reckoned Khan regularly gets KO'd behind closed doors, judging by his choice of opponents for his "brilliant comeback" I'd say it's still happening, regardless of the improved defence. He's still just a KO looking for somewhere to happen, always will be. I reckon Malignaggi will give him plenty to think about just by boxing him anyway, Paulie is a very good fighter despite the lack of power.

  4. Last I heard he was fighting Marquez, what happened to that? Not nearly feather fisted enough for Amir I suspect. Hope Malignaggi puts him in hospital.
  5. Agreed. In all honesty, despite the obvious reason to dislike him he's the one that impresses me least if I'm honest. Mitchell, Cleverley and De Gale all look like potential world-beaters to me, Gavin looks too feather-fisted and also gets cut easily....I reckon he'll fail at the top level. Let's face it he's never going to be a winner with "that" on his shorts is he? I'll reserve judgement on Cleverley also at the moment though, I've got the feeling he might have an Enzo Maccarinelli-esque chin but I'm not 100% on it yet.
  6. Cleverley looked pretty good I thought, still caught a few flush shots so needs to work on that, not everyone is going to be as feather fisted as that Italian. Might have been imagining it but it looked to me like Cleverley was uncomfortable at times when he was getting caught, time will tell I suppose. I refuse to say anything positive about Frankie Gavin while he has a small heath badge on his shorts, the word removed. De Gale is probably the best of the bunch, enjoy watching him. Derek Chisora is as mad as a box of frogs, and his opponent (who's name I've already forgotten) put in one of the most pathetic performances I've ever seen, what the **** was he playing at? Shame cos he did a number on Williams in that prize fighter and didn't look too bad in that one.
  7. Images (also previously known as 'Images on glass' and 'The Barn') Same bloke on the door (at least the last time I went which was about 6 years ago) as was doing it when I was a teenager twenty years ago, a pleasant bloke called John (only difference was that he had gone grey). Yeah I think that's the place....a complete toilet but oh so good I don't remember the doorman to be honest as I was usually pretty well hammered when we arrived, big taxi in from Hallow with about 6 of us in it but I'll always have respect for the guy cos he let me in in those stupid loud bermudas, just because I seemed harmless. He was right too, I was harmless as a newt that night as I recall. Shame Birmingham nightclubs ain't like that, I went to that place at least 20 times and never saw a single punch up, it was great.
  8. Yet, I went out on Saturday night in Worcester for the first time in a couple of years and, apart from the ill behaviour in the pub where I was watching the game, it seemed pretty much the same as it used to be a few years ago (actually Wetherspoons was quieter and better behaved than it used to be). I didn't hang around until club kicking out time so I can't vouch for whether that was any worse than either a few years ago when there were large amounts of rozzers, drunks and fights or twenty years ago when Worcester was an exceptionally violent city on a Friday and Saturday night (pretty regular stabbings in the Crown passage, meat wagons stationed at either end of town all night, i.e. from about 8pm onwards, and various other things). I'm not doubting what you see has happened in the North West but I thought I'd chuck in a viewpoint of somewhere else. On the 'binge drinking' business, I'm firmly with Frankie Boyle - it's what we used to call drinking; and as for 'preloading' being a new phenomenon, well, that's what I was doing twenty years ago as a teenager and we used to call it budget management. Definately agree with your last paragraph (see, I can agree with you occasionally) I can't comment on Worcester these days but my sister lived there about 10 years ago - in a village a couple of miles out anyway, and we used to regularly head off from her local to the centre and I never saw any trouble there. Compared to Broad St it was a walk in the park which is the main reason I used to go there. Can't remember the name of the nightclub we used to go to but it was rough as **** and let any old peasant in no matter how they were dressed. I loved the place, got in there in bermudas and a vest once on a hot summer night, must have looked a right word removed but I didn't care. Even better when we got in there the ground floor had been sectioned off for lap dancing Hmmm, I remember now why the bermudas were a mistake.....
  9. Oops, going to get told off again by the short link police for that I reckon.
  10. Anyone remember Howard Clarke? Read this today.....very sad. Not a world beater but he did once fight Vargas on the Lewis-Holyfield undercard, remember that fight well, like an idiot I even picked Vargas over Trinidad on the strength of it  http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/721689/ONLY-11-years-ago-Howard-Clarke-was-at-the-top-of-the-boxing-world-starring-in-a-world-title-fight-at-Madison-Square-Garden.html
  11. Vargas always was a moron, I think he took one too many bangs to the head in his career to be honest. I saw a picture of him a while ago, he was about 20 stone
  12. I was half expecting Berto to pull out to be honest once that earthquake hit, no one should criticise him for this either. Floyd V Mosley though.....I'm torn, but I'm leaning towards the Sugar man, go Shane If anyone on here says they'd rather see Pac V Floyd than Pac V Mosley then they can royally go **** themselves by the way
  13. Jones only ever tested positive once to my knowledge, and so did his opponent, think it was for ripped fuel or something, hardly makes him a drugs cheat. I'm actually of the opinion that 90% of boxers are drugs cheats anyway.
  14. I had considered that. Floyd would jump at the chance and Ricky seens to have convinced himself that he was in the fight. Hopkins/Jones 2 is signed apparently Why doesn't Jones just retire? I thought that Aussie guy that beat Jones Jr was supposed to be fighting Hopkins anyway? Mayweather should stay away from the Hitman aswell, he'll **** him up. Theres only onnnnnnne Ricky Hatton..... Danny Green wants a 50/50 split. Hopkins won't come to Europe either (long story, I'm sure someone will get it) RJJ won't retire because he just loves the sport. He might also have been knocked a little bit loopey and has some delusions. Damn shame about Jones, the best fighter of my lifetime....I never ever thought I'd see him go downhill like this.
  15. I'm starting to wonder if Rickys comeback will be against Floyd you know....one last big payday then goodbye. I hope not, hope he chooses a reasonably easy fight and then retires, it'd be the ultimate humiliation for him to lose to a glass jaw like Khan in his last fight.
  16. Thank God for that....Taylor is a good guy, hope he just retires and enjoys his money. He's got a lot to be proud of, 2 legitimate wins over Hopkins for a start, whereas Slappy doesn't even have 1
  17. Can't remember exactly, but I think I had Pac winning the first one 113 - 112 and Marquez winning the 2nd one 115 - 112. I had Marquez winning both, the second one wasn't even close for me, the first one was about as close as the Mosley/DLH rematch, which I thought Oscar tried to con his way to winning if I'm honest. Same with the Slappy/Hopkins match, judges should stop scoring points for guys that throw punches that don't actually land, it's really rather stupid.
  18. I had Mosley winning that fight in a close one, it was closer than the first fight but he landed all the meaningful punches while DLH pitter-patted away. Similar to Slappy V Hopkins, depends on how you score your fights. Agreed on the steroids though. Still doesn't stop me liking him, Mosley is one of boxings nice guys whereas DLH is universally known as a prick. Incidentally if we're bringing up fights that guys could have lost I'll throw in both Marquez fights for Pac for a start.
  19. Margarito was gift wrapped for Mosley. A static target. Everybody that has beat Mosley has beat him with a sharp jab, Margarito ain't got that. Mayweather has a world class jab and the best right cross in the business. Pacquiao has the best straight left in the business. They'd both beat Mosley. De La Hoya had a great jab, and Mosley beat him twice. It takes more than just that to beat him - size helps as I said before, Forrest was the only guy I ever saw easily beat Shane and he was 6 ft tall with a massive reach for the weight. He lost twice to Winky Wright who was far bigger than him and awkward as anything, I never saw anyone look good against that guy. The other loss came to Cotto as I said, and that was close - it seems to me that Mosley has re-dedicated himself since that one, think he was going through crap with his wife at the time and lacked belief. We'll see what happens against Berto I guess, Mosley has always been one of my favourites though so I'm biased.
  20. He's going to go head to head with Pac for PPV buys? Seems like cutting off his nose to spite his face to me. Dana will have a field day with that. AT LEAST he's not fighting Matt Hatton. I'd rather watch Mayweather fight Hatton than watch Pac against a hideously weight drained Clottey. What a wankerish move that is - especially coming from the guy that wanted Floyd to pay up $10 million if he dared come in a pound overweight. He's actually putting Clottteys health at risk with this move in my opinion and Clottey should be smart enough to tell him to go **** himself.
  21. You think he'd be favourite? Of course I don't....what the bookies say and what I say are 2 different things, and they often get it badly wrong in boxing. Hence my nice little 66-1 odds for Mayweather to KO Hatton 8) I still kick myself for not taking the 200-1 on Khan getting knocked out in the first by Prescott by the way....that's how wrong the bookies can be. I'd give Mayweather a better chance against Mosley by the way, having a good defence or being physically bigger than Mosley are pretty much essential - Pac has neither advantage in this case. I don't care about betting favourite, I mean you think Mosley would beat both? :? Based on the Mosley that fought Margarito, yes I do. Mosley is getting old now though, think he's 37/38. If the fight doesn't happen soon then he'll slip and become easier meat, both Pac and Floyd know this, hence they're steering clear. Take a look at Pacs recent opposition, same with Floyd. There isn't a fighter on either of their record that is as good as the Mosley that beat Margarito. A lot has been made of the Cotto win for Pac but he was coming off a bad loss to Margarito - Mosley was given no chance against Margarito because he dropped a decision to Cotto in a fight many people thought he'd won. Mosley is mega, mega dangerous for BOTH Pac and Floyd, make no mistake about it. Why do you think Pac has headed straight for Joshua **** Clottey now he can't get the Mayweather fight? I have no idea who Mayweather will face now, but I bet it won't be Shane Mosley.
  22. That's craaaazy. To be fair it was a 'round' pick.....Mayweather was 66-1 to KO Hatton from rounds 7-12, I bet on 8, 9 and 10 as I figured Hatton would have had enough by then....I was right, it was one of my best ever picks to be honest. Watch the fight again, people only remember the KO but they forget the brutalising Hatton got in the 3 rounds previous.
  23. You think he'd be favourite? Of course I don't....what the bookies say and what I say are 2 different things, and they often get it badly wrong in boxing. 24. Pacquiao V Mosley would be something to behold....but Pac doesn't like fighting fast guys. Funny how everyone claims Floyd avoids punchers but no-one lays this accusation at Pac, Mosley is the obvious fight for him if you ask me but it hasn't happened. I think Mosley has a better than 50% chance of beating both Pac and Mayweather right now.
  25. Well one things for sure, it's definately going to be someone Warren doesn't promote, despite the fact that Khan is in Pacs camp and is in my opinion almost certainly taking something My money would be on Froch or Haye but I'm not sure why the trainer would be taking the stuff too...
