Keep the 12 team format, it's been the closest most interesting season we've had.

    Agreed on 12 teams.

The scoring feels like it's worked better although it would be good to understand if there is any reason why some teams were able to consistently score more points than others.  I thought PPR would make it more predictable / closer but I've found it inconsistent at times.  Perhaps it's game milestones or TD production separating players; of course it could just be poor player selection.

As the draft is unpredictable, there is probably no way to achieve it, but it would be good if the average points scored per team was a lot closer.  As an example, this seasons average points per week is a high of 159 and the low 105.  That gap feels too wide in my opinion.

At least we'll know the 2022 draft order by this time next week...

Are we basing the draft order on the playoffs rather than league positions?

Us lowly folk have been battling it out for finishing positions too and so I'd suggest using that.  And then any newbies go first.

The latest Swiss ramble Post about finances over the last 10 years paint us in a pretty bad light.

9th overall for salaries paid in those 10 years (don't know how much of that relates to the overpaying of wages we did the seasons just before we came down?). That's 9th of everyone, and in not one of those seasons have we finished in the top 10... last season's 11th being our highest. And for 3 of them we were in the championship.

Also sitting at 88% salary to turnover rate for the last 10 years. Among the worst in the PL, only Brentford (156%?!) are higher. We have not been getting value for money for a long time.

Wonder how we compare for this season (and last) and whether it looks rosier at the moment.

Here's the link for anyone that wants to read it.

It also points out how much our owners have contributed.  However, it all lacks a lot of circumstance and detail, which would truly help a reader to understand what has gone on and what is going on now.

I think this tweet from John Gregory sums it all up perfectly.

Was thinking of writing something on here. Don't think it can be put any better than that though.

    Thank you Dean

It's a shame you can't set this as a bonus points option.

If your team gets a shut out, you don't lose any of your starting 10pts.

I think how we used to score was to having the starting points higher and then they got whittled down through negative plays like being scored on.

Not suggesting we change it for this pr any season, but perhaps it would be a way to give +10 points as an example.

I could be completely wrong mind you.

Anyone else up for having a trophy for the winner at the end of the season for this and the winner of the NFL fantasy as well? I know someone who could make one for relatively cheap if anyone wants to chip in at seasons end and I 'll handle the shipping. Just a thought👍

Of course just put it on my mantel if I win lol

Nice idea, but not for me cheers. Not that I'd win it any way.

Joint winner from last year is in (bragging like keeeeeeeeeeeeeeenan).

Whilst I'd like this to be true, I think you'll find I fell at the last hurdle, so consider my enthusiasm based on that pain that's haunted me ever since...

This bit's not true. If you drop someone, you have to wait until the following waiver period to claim them back.

That's how @Beastmix has set it. And I have already done it so can attest to it being true. Go check it out yourself.

Do you have an injured player already or is there someone from waivers you want to stash ?

If it's the latter you'll most likely need to drop a player to free up a spot then add the IR player . You can then move them to your IR bench spot then go add another player who isn't injured.

You can't just take an IR guy on waivers directly into an IR bench spot.

    @rjw63

As the waiver window doesn't start until Thursday, you can also claim back the player you drop without penalty.

Not many IR players of value though, but there may be later in the season as iirc, IR is reduced to a minimum 3 week absences now so may become a useful short term option for teams.

It's hardly the end of the world. Don't worry about it.

I think it gives people a chance to stash a late rounder flier or extra QB. Ain't many starters out there.

Yep, QB spot for me.  Wanted Baker but him and Rodgers on the same bye week.

Can't quite believe Baker is still there though! Bargain for whomever picks him up, he's going to have a good year.

If not 6 at least 5.

I've made a note of the draft pick times. Would 45seconds be better for next year?

Also, I could increase bench spots to 6 and it will be a scramble to see who can get what?

    Thoughts?

Agreed, one more spot and an IR would be good
