Going with players who I watched regularly and who would provide a great spine now:
• McGrath
• Platt
• Yorke

I still believe it’ll be four or five seasons before they can realistically challenge the top six and then stay there. Also, probably needing to spend 100m on players every season.
It’s almost an impossible task breaking the top six and even if you do a Leicester and manage it, it’s even harder staying in one of those positions over a prolonged period.
These owners may get bored with the wait and move on in time.

Bit disingenuous on their part though, they didn't play football until 1899.
Just looked it up and never knew that. Everyday is a school day -
1860 Munich is quite simple but classy. I can see a case for just a lion and 1874 perhaps?

Right scrap the theme park, the “forward” one it is and let’s have a Villa Park with turrets and a drawbridge!- 2

It’s not the shape of our badge that bothers me but I would like it say “Aston Villa” at least, rather than AVFC.

We got a new(ish) car on Friday. Nothing exciting, an MG HS. 5 days and someone has already banged into one of the doors, 5 days!! We've been careful where we parked being a new car, so not sure if it was a car door or something like a kid on a bike/scooter.
Horrible isn’t it. When we took possession of our current car it was banged into by somebody within two days! We do try and park by newer cars now but no guarantee. -

Will be a shame if he goes and think he’s quite underrated by some on here. However, he’s certainly not irreplaceable, so be interesting to see what the club do next.

Chris Richards is leaving Bayern ans been linked with Palace & Southampton. can play both full backs positions and CB and only 22.
Would be a very decent pick up. Bayern still have Omar Richards (ex Reading left back) as well. -

Focus should be on catching West Ham, Brighton and Leicester first.
and Wolves. We need to become the best of the rest next season and aim for 7th spot.

If it was a fact, I would agree.
He might have credit in the bank with certain people, the higher ups, but not with anyone who can form a better analysis of his tenure than Joe Cole or Jamie Carragher.
which is what I said originally and you agree. I’ll leave it there.

Whoopee shit. Runner up champions.
He hasn't won getting us to a final, he's lost us a tournament. Only beating Colombia on penalties, losing to Croatia, failing to beat Scotland - these are not decent results.
As I say, he’s got credit in the bank for doing well in our previous two major tournaments. You may not agree, but it’s fact. He’ll take us to our next tournament in December whether you like it or not.
Again, I don’t personally like him or want him as our manager but he’s not going anywhere at present.

What has he got credit in the bank for? He’s in arrears.
World Cup Semi Final, followed by a Euro Final last year. Regardless of what we think of him, his results have been decent.- 2

Horrible performance and horrible result.
Gareth has enough credit in the bank at present so that the people above don’t need discuss his successor yet. However, I do think he’ll need a decent World Cup showing because if we have an early exit, then a decision needs to be made.
I don’t personally like him but he has done a lot of good and his results by and large during his tenure have been very good. Let’s see what happens from September onwards.

Why is here there then!
I suppose his place in the World Cup squad is already guaranteed and that’s why he’s with them right now. There’s probably only four or five places up for grabs and that’s why he’s looking at Bowen this evening. Personally, I’d have Foden on the pitch.

Foden hasn't played a minute in these 4 games has he?
TAA only had about 60 mins in the one game
Don’t think Foden has played any minutes at all, so perhaps not fit? I guess he needed to take a look at Bowen after the season he’s had but he doesn’t look good enough for a World Cup squad.
New Club Crest Ideas
in Villa Talk

A little controversial but with all the suggestions over the last few days it’s made me realise that our current crest/badge isn’t that bad at all. If it said Aston Villa rather than AVFC, I don’t think we’d be changing it.
It’s simple and more than ok on a match shirt etc. I also think it’s ok on media platforms.
However, I’m not against a new crest/badge but it needs to remain simple and transferable onto media platforms easily. The problem with some of the suggestions I’ve seen is that they look nice close up but once condensed you can’t read the wording properly.
