  1. and here's the link: KINNEAR TO RETURN
  2. Rumours are that Joe Kinnear is returning as manager of Newcastle today. (from the woman in my office).
  3. i love Newcastle Football Club. they make my life more humourous.
  4. Their throttling is pretty good actually. If you are one of the top downloaders in a week, then the next week you are throttled at peak times down to 50% speed. So the throttling can only last for 7 days max, and you can't be throttled 2 weeks in a row, and its only for the insane downloaders anyway. Also, the speed of throttle is faster than some people's regular speed on BT/Sky!
  5. This is my experience as well.
  6. ooo, i haven't checked if i got my free upgrade from 2mb to 10mb. i knew it was due soon, but wasn't sure exactly when it would happen. i will try to download an 'educational' film as well.
  7. hahahaha... thats the funniest thing i've heard in ages, the CBI wants the government to stop job losses!!! errrrrr..... i don't even know what to say to this.
  8. A good article in The Times: TIMES ARTICLE they are just too funny.
  9. Newcastle are paying £200,000 A DAY in wages for players that they want to get rid of, but can't find a buyer. They are going to go bankrupt soon, unless they get taken over, or dump these players in a river.
  10. i have to agree with this. Virgin Broadband is the best broadband. You get the speed they advertise, not like the rubbish through a BT line where it depends on how far you are from a server, and who else is using it in your street! on my 2mb service, i could regularly get speeds of 3-4mb. also, its a lot cheaper than Sky. People always forget with Sky you have to pay BT for a phone-line as well. Not with Virgin. oh, and they actually train their tehnical staff in their call centre in India. one of the best call centres i've used.
  11. Virgin are upgrading everyone on their 2MB service to 10MB for no extra cost. woohoo.
  12. i've planned it tonight. I'm going to have 1 shot of Limoncello, 1 shot of Sambuca & 1 shot of Aftershock before i go out.... then i'm going to drink double Vodka & Orange juice for the rest of the night.
  13. He's one we 'missed out on' last summer.
  14. i want to drink & drink & drink until i'm really pissed (like a student), but i don't want to throw up, and i don't want a hangover the next day. a problem i find wheni go drinking at my local on a friday night is that i start around 8.30pm, i'm merry by 10pm, and i'm pissed by midnight. which is when its time to go home, so it feels like a waste. i want to be pissed whilst i'm in the pub, not when i'm back home.
  15. i just had a look at a Newcastle Forum. (Toontastic) they all seem surprisingly happy & upbeat. and they seem to all be renewing their season tickets. apparently a lot of them signed up for 3 years , and so have to.
  16. 13 players on that much?! this is their squad i think. Which ones would be on over £50k? Coloccini Enrique Nolan Barton Guthrie Martins Duff Bassong Harper Gonzalez Taylor Smith Gutierrez Xisco Geremi Beye Butt Ameobi Taylor Kadar
  17. i wonder how much they are still paying per week for all the players they still have. They were paying £1.3mill a week in wages.... now Owen & a couple of others are off their books.
  18. Not sure if i want Man City to break the top 4. that would make it even harder for Villa in future years, as Chelsea, Man City & Man Utd would be financially untouchable. Man City would do what Real Madrid are currently doing once the reach the CL.
  19. I'd hazard a guess that the workers who haven't lost this would give a limb to be in that position. i'm not debating that, i'm sure they would. But the point i was making was how the unions are jepordizing (sp?) all their workers jobs, rather than protecting them.
  20. A total free-market is that you let the market decide everything - no rules or regulations stopping the market working to the best of its ability. This is the ideal case in theory, a pure efficient working of the market. In reality this cannot be allowed to occur, as you need safety rules, environmental legislation, you need to make sure basic services are provided to those who can't afford them, you need to provide access to the market for those who have no access. This can still be a free market, but working within a framework. Too much framework, and it impedes the efficiency of the free-market. Not enough framework, and it won't benefit the wider population.
  21. That may be due to circumstance actually. I'm in management in a large company, where the unions are always threatening to go on strike. In fact, they have just announced another strike ballot today  and yet we're trying to keep the company afloat, we really aren't trying to screw the workers. I've had my pay frozen just like the rest of the workers, and i lost around £6k in my annual bonus which the workers haven't lost. Yet the union doesn't see that, or the fact that we are currently making a loss.
