  1. "it's a bit predictable" is phrase i'm hearing often from the commentator
  2. Harry's giving Houlier a class in how to do a successful counter attack
  3. I can't help but think the man is living in the past. It's like he's taken the villa job as a bit of a blast for old time sake. most media interviews are trips down memory lane about the Anfield days. he brings in 37 year old Pires who he would love to have had 10 years ago, is interested in the cripple Owen, and is linked to other players who are close to drawing their pension. I'm sure he was quite confident that he could waltz into Villa like he did at Liverpool and expect the same result. His appointment in reality has created more turmoil which will only cost a lot of money to get out of. Time to dig deep into those pockets of yours, Randy! And don't try and be to precious about the money either, considering a lot of that money was earned as a result of, how shall I say it politely, "dubious conversion"
  4. Randy has no choice but to back GH with good money, because if he doesn't GH doesn't stand a chance of getting Villa to play the way he wants them to and be successful with it, so it will all come back on Randy.
  5. I'm hoping its this. And if our back four can pull their friggin fingers out and put in a decent performance we may just have a chance.
  6. Dunne and Collins play like they have a ball and chain attached to their ankles. Collins let the ball bounce, and it wasnt first time he did it, which cost us a penalty. How many times do we get the ball out on the wing in a position to cross the ball to waiting players and nobody bothers to cross!!! Gabby never got the service he deserves. Did well to score the goal. Ireland played for about 5 mins and then went walkabouts. Why persistently bring him on and expect him to play any different? Young's corners continue to be woeful.
  7. Villa find themselves in 13th place in the Premiership. What do you think is a realistic target for Houllier in his first season. A realistic target would be to finish in the top half of the table, and good cup runs. How do you feel Gerard Houllier has settled and what do you hope from him as a manager I think GH is professional enough to settle in to do what he can with the current squad. It hasn't been easy for him to become used to the main first 11 because of so many injuries. I think this will change from january to may. I hope that he is given the means to quickly assemble a squad he feels is his in the summer and then we should be able to realistically expect him to achieve a top 6 finish and/or a cup Do you feel that Houllier can get the best out of Emile Heskey Yes, it seems this has begun to happen since he has been here. It will depend on how fit Heskey stays this season. After Citeh came in and took two of your better young players what do you think needs doing to replace them. Is youth development an option or is the only way the transfer window. Both. I think our young players look very promising Do you feel that Robert Pires is an inspired signing or do you feel he is ‘over the hill’ He's a bit too over the hill Liverpool have a bit of “history” with regards to American owners. Villa have had Randy Lerner in since 2006. What positives and negatives do you feel he brings to the club. I think he has injected a new vibrant energy into the club. Done a lot to improve the ground. Made new money available for MO'N to sign players. Since having Ellis removed it has only have been a positive imo I feel Villa fans are very lucky to be able to have contact and information from The General. How important for supporter/club development do you feel this has been and do you think it should be encouraged across other clubs It was a breath of fresh air. A sign of good will and good intent. A method to enable the club to know what the fans feel and think rather than only assuming what the feels feel and think, and to implement changes because of the fans feedback Martin O’Neill left at a crucial part of the season and it seems since then he is constantly being linked with the Liverpool job by the media as soon as an opportunity arises. How do you feel he would do as Liverpool manager, given the current financial situation and also with funds available. I think he would have been doing a better job than Roy is so far. Whether MO'N could do a better job than Roy in the long term, I'm not so sure. How do you feel Roy Hodgson has done since taking the Liverpool job. Not very well so far, but I think he's the kind of manager that needs time. Remember it took a few years for Alex to get things going at Man U. Liverpool, like us, are in a transition phase. Both sets of fans need to be patient and allow a manager to rebuild properly for the future. Other than Gerrard or Torres who would you take from the Liverpool squad and why? Reina, because he's a superb GK. Last season we had two good games together with Villa winning at Anfield and Liverpool winning at Villa Park. Both games had “talking points” in them and I feel this is always the way with our encounters. What do you expect from this game. I expect a fast paced, gritty, and exciting game. I feel if Villa don't have a couple of more player fit from injury, Liverpool will be the more likely to take 3 points. And finally what would you predict as a final score for our game? If we have a couple of more players available from injury, then a score draw. If not, a 2-1 win to Liverpool
  8. thats exactly what i was thinking during the first half. whatever houlier's diabolical game plan was in the 1st half he certainly changed it for the 2nd half. It certainly makes me wonder and there is a difference between Houllier and both DO'L and MO'N, if it's not working he will look to change it, neither of the previous managers did. It seems it may be that way. What concerns me is how many times could we see GH have to change a game plan because he's got it wrong to begin with. Im far from a judgement on GH, he still needs time, but his planning wasn't up to a good enough standard today imo.

  10. Poor tactics and selection in the 1st half. can only blame Houlier for that warnock needs to be shipped out with carew. usual shit crossing from young Fonz did very well when he came on and made a big difference. Clarke was my motm for his goals, needs to become more aware of the game going on around him though. He can become a great player for us
  11. After Ireland's performance, I would prefer to see Herd picked instead in consideration of those unavailable though injury Downing was good first half, unsurprisingly couldnt keep the same level of performance up in the 2nd half Gabby, wasnt up to it, didnt seem fully fit Young seemed to be doing Ireland's job most of the time Warnock started well and then began tackling like a knob giving Rovers the opportunity to score the first goal Bannan did well and kept up the work rate throughout the game The others did ok. Overall, seemed too weak in midfield and disjointed when attacking
  12. This. Surely GH will be looking for a new left back sometime soon.. I hope so... even though some on here keep saying he has been "consistently very good" and "class" this season. All I consistently see each game is stupid challenges like the one we've just seen and dodgy passing
  13. "Spizz - the sun never sets on aston villa". the music is dire
  14. ditto. i dont fancy seeing villa play in brown shirts thanks.
  15. my prediction is a 0-1 win for villa. we'll probably nick a goal near the end of the game.
