I think the weak mentality runs deeper than just the manager/coaching staff. The Club itself is weak.

Not sure what you mean here.  Our facilities, stadium, fan base, ownership, etc. are all top class. Whatever is wrong with the management and/or squad is isolated and surely can be remedied.

We need a striker more than anything, it's not about a player that will score more than Ollie and Danny, it's about a player that will hold up the ball better than them, link up with our players better than them, that's what we're missing in the final third, someone that will bring others into play. Jonathan David would be far out.

IF we don't need goals, we have Keinan Davis

  3. In terms of tactics, the commentators were pretty much echoing  what is being said here.  Everyone seems to see the problem but the coaching staff.  I recall SG having three long breaks, including this preseason,  where he had time to organize the team and each time we have looked worse after the breaks.

Hooooooof! Boring football! Sad thing is Purslow won't be sacking him even if we lost 10 on the bounce!

He'll be out at the World Cup break if we are not solidly challenging for top half.  Poch will be our new manager.

  5. Below is my playlist.  Would encourage people to check out All Villa No Filler podcast which is well produced and generally has really good takes.

    - MOMS
    - For the Love of Paul McGrath
    - UTV
    - VillaTalks
    - All Villa No Filler
    - Claret & Blue
    - Holy Trinity Show
    - The Villa View

Cant stand Gregg Evans and his piss poor analysis. Stopped listening to 1874 a long time back.  For Bardell's thoughts I go directly to The Villa View.

  6. Massive Premier League fanbase across the Asia Pacific region - especially Manchester United and Liverpool fans.  Hard pressed to find Villa fans, thus I was quite impressed with the turnout in Gold Coast.

Social media is a cesspit! It is not policed in the correct way at!  Some proper keyboard warriors out there! Mostly 12 - 15 year old kids dishing it out.

Twitter is the worst for abuse!

Neal Maupay and his family received death threats.  Turned out it was from a teenager in Singapore!

How do you police that? How do you stop that message from reaching the victim? Who is responsible for educating the idiot? Surely not the British government or Premier League?!

  8. Havent seen anything that makes him stand out in the first two preseason matches.  I do feel a run of games is important for all players. I recall the likes of Angel and Petrov looking extremely ordinary during their first few months with the club. The problem with Sanson is that when the run of games was available to him, he was injured. 1.5 years in, it might be too late to give him a proper chance.

  9. At least in preseason all our "new" signings have performed well -  Coutinho, Kamara, Carlos and Olsen. Digne  look to be the real deal, so if we can just get last years'  cohort of Bailey, Ings and Buendia firing, we'll have had a really great transfer market record from our last three windows.
