Definitely an opportunity to go on a cup run. Hope Emery takes it seriously.

I really don’t think Emery would have taken the job at Villa to manage a sell to buy policy or little backing by the owners for the players he wants.
Gerrard wasn’t allowed to spend too much for a reason so I’m in no doubt Emery will be given the funds to buy whoever he wants and in the summer again.
I’d expect maybe one, if not two more effective midfielders to be signed plus a forward. FB positions may also be looked at with several players sold or pushed out on loan with a view to buy.
Not sell to buy, but sometimes refreshing or resetting the squad can have merit. For example, would be open to selling Ings and bringing in a striker who can press a bit more.

Grealish
Yorke
Benteke
Barry
Martinez (maybe recency bias)

He has to take on his man once in a while or make some intelligent passes. Always just stops and crosses.

Would have loved to win, but it was a valuable point. We moved up a one place and none of the stronger sides below us (e.g. West Ham, Leicester) really gained ground.

Don't mind the point on an off-day. Good adjustments and subs by Emery in the second half. Learning not to lose is part of the process.

Reminded me of Gerrard ball.

They just have quicker, more talented, technical players than us, simple at that.
they're in the bottom 3!

Not matching Wolves' intensity and so sloppy on the ball. Let's see what adjustment Emery makes.

Wouldn't mind shuffling the deck a little and letting the likes of Konsa, McGinn and Ings go as I feel we can bring in players that fit the new system better. However think Emery will give those three and others until the end of the season to prove themselves.

Coutinho will probably be a buyout on our side. No prospective club will pay his wages.

Think a winger and backup GK are our only urgent needs. Other positions are more about upgrading than filling holes.

I'd like to think there are a few Almiron and Joelinton types in our squad. Players who just need some good coaching and tactics that suit their style. If the likes of Watkins, Bailey, Ings, Digne, Coutinho, Cash, Luiz and Buendia are not good enough, we've pissed away a ton of money.

Can't blame him for a lack of subs when we were dominating the second half till the 75th minute and were hit by a sucker punch of a goal.

If he bags most of the chances that come to him, he then is basically a world class striker. Think people need some perspective and check the scoring charts to see how few 20 season a year strikers actually exist these days. Recall similar discussions about Carew and Angel previously.

Didn't think that was the terrible. We had some chances. Luiz totally off today and the high line not pragmatic against Liverpool

Haven’t been to VP in ages. Is the tunnel under the train tracks at the beginning of the video existing or going to be a new build?

Just watched him in person last night at the World Cup. He was brilliant. Filled with skill and passion.

Not much talk of West Ham being in trouble but they've been in poor form for a year now, one of the few teams to take less points than us during Steven Gerrard's ill-fated tenure. Play Arsenal next, if they lose that and other fixtures go against them they could drop into the bottom three.
That's why I don't like it when people talk about "kicking on next season"...sometimes it just does not click as has been the case for West Ham and Leicester. You claw and scratch for every league position you can get now.

We are scoring under Emery

Good recovery. Now let's push on.

We don't have the players to play out from the back. Why do we keep trying to do it against high pressing teams
It worked against ManUtd last week

I never thought McGinn would start for us again. I truly did. Perplexing selection by Emery.
