In the Championship.
Yeah - Aaron Ramsey has 5 goals, 3 assists in the Championship in 22 games. That comes out to around 10 & 6 over an entire season.

I really wanted Tammy a few seasons ago as many of you may have noticed I don’t care these days who we buy for any position or who we sell because I’m more interested in Emery building a squad he wants and I know I will have mixed feelings in some of the decisions but he knows better and has taken many misfits and turned them into stars hence I put my trust in him.
In saying that if we spend £40m-£50m or more on one player, they won’t be coming in as a back up player. So if Emery does buy Tammy for the figures quoted, there is no way he’ll be coming in as only a back up player whatever you guys individually think of him or any player of similar note.
Given Emery's meticulous nature, I am sure we will really pin-point our targets. Not just bring in a random winger because we need some depth there.

Any reason we dont have fan flags like you see at St. James' and Selhurst? Does the club not allow them?

Hi mate
Ive stopped for now as life is too hectic at the moment and tbh I don’t enjoy the hassle of getting it out anymore. We also are struggling with availability for the other guys for various reasons. I’ll be doing Villa View now and again but that’s about it for now.
Are your cohorts Chadsy and AJ appearing elsewhere? Enjoy their takes.

Have we been linked with Alex Scott?
He impressed in a preseason match against us two summers back

Man City also about to launch a massive entertainment complex adjacent to its stadium. Our new infrastructure looks like a corner shop compared to what they are doing.

Class again today.
Defensively he was good, but thought his forward passing was poor. Needs to be more consistant there.

He drives forward when there is open space, but don't see any other contributions from him in terms of defense, passing or 1v1 situations. A different type of luxury player, right now at least.

I'll continue to dispute this everytime I see it being mentioned as a fact. It was villalad who came up with the fact that the Lyon fans didn't rate him based on what a couple of people said. Go back in this thread by the time we signed him and you'll see my post where I went through quite a few Lyon fans communities and you can see that the picture was more nuanced.
Lyon is a team I've always followed closely and I was very critical of the signing, mostly due to the fee. Traore was in the Lyon doghouse, their fans despised him and he was getting limited playing time. We could have easily signed him for under $10M and at that price I feel he would have been worth a punt. How we ended-up paying close to $20M for him and including a 20% sell-on clause absolutely baffles me and part of the reason I remain a bit skeptical about Purslow and Lange's financial/negotiating nous.
Similar to Bailey, for all the magic Traore creates, I feel he has too many liabilities and is a net negative.

Dorde Petrovic is a goalkeeper we should go for. Plays for New England in MLS. Would probably settle for a backup role if we find someone more experienced for the number 1 shirt.
He's better than Matt Turner who Arsenal bought from MLS for $6 million.

I agree with the midfielder and the winger, but I think we need a new defence. Mings is our best defender by a mile and I don’t think he’s good enough.
The winger and midfielder will put less stress on the defenders

How come Fulham and Brentford can come from nowhere, and easily become European challengers, yet we are still bottom half despite all the money?? Always seems like it’s a million times harder for us to achieve anything than others.
Cause our last manager was crap. Had we had "normal" results at the start of the season (even factoring in a few less points from the new manager bounce), we would be right where Brighton/Brentford/Fulham are.
With Dean Smith, think we overestimated how good the likes of Trez, El Ghazi, Targett, McGinn, Nakamba, etc. were

General inconsistency aside, Bailey is often making consistently poor decisions on the ball. That's not good enough. Inconsistency with beating a man/playing that final pass is acceptable. But he has to do better with his decision making.
This. It's not the lack of goal involvements that is the problem but all the poor decision making, lack of aggression and his fragile nature that is super frustrating. Save the top line stat analysis for NBA and baseball players - it doesn't quite work the same way in football.

Already checking off a few boxes at the age of 19. I'm excited!
I felt the fee was very high, but a club like ours wouldn't spend that type of money unless we were very confident on his potential.

Hope he breaks our PL goalscoring record as I cringe every time I see Gabby on top of the list, especially after the troll he has become in the football media.

Lightweight and low IQ. Could offer something off the bench, but does not warrant a starting role.

I am just not sure if we would get a similar performance out of Coutinho if he started. Some players are better coming off of the bench.

I'm in the Unai or bust camp, so if it does not work out with him I will probably find a new obsession in life. Jazz music or something else that is a million miles away from football.

Regardless of how many European cups we win in the future, I would always suggest keeping one. It says "we achieved the top honour".
Some clubs are gonna look silly in year 2174 adding them on with each win.
The only clubs that have the star are Forest and Villa, basically because we have small man syndrome. Another consideration is that it was an accomplishment by our men's team so it does not really suit the women's team kits.

Feel the star throws off the balance. If that was removed it would be a solid badge.

He's just a little lightweight for me, but not a terrible player to have in the overall squad. His wages are another story.

Really hope we dont bring in any mediocre players, will burst the perception that we are shipping out the players that are not good enough.

Is the slow buildup from the back part of our strategy? We seem to be very pedestrian compared to other teams that play out of the back. If it is part of our strategy then we are in for some really dull football. I remember an Arsenal friend tell me that Emery will destroy your love for football.
