The Egyptian lad has been you-tubed! It appears he's a midfielder/forward who actually is willing to take on players and shoot!!! He's the montage - Aboutrieka I know montages can easily make any player look good but he's supposedly hot property in African football!

I see Spuds are sniffing around Ashley Young from Watford for £3m - he'd definately be a decent shout for us considering our current wide players! I'd also like to see Barton at the club - sure he has obvious issues but he's a battler and can weigh in with the odd goal or two. But IMO our priority is the right hand side both in midfield and attack, the young RB Stearman from Leicester has impressed me this season and would be worth giving a go. I personally can't see us signing SWP though - we're not 'high-profile' enough or in a place where he has any ties etc - nice to dream though!

Have to agree with that Jas! But we could end up with another Milner situation - good player, loves the club, no chance of signing him!

Paddy - the same was exactly said about Agathe and look how that ended up!!! I don't think Balde is the right option IMO as he's at the wrong end of his career and probably hasn't played more than a handfull of testing games in Scotland - if MON wants back up at the back I suggest we buy another RB and allow Olly to return to the middle (+ buy Curtis Davies :winkold: ) Well Agathe never impressed me half as much as Balde. Also just because one player ended up like that doesn't mean they all will. Who was keen on signing Sutton? Not me for one, but I hold my hands up and say I was wrong. Fair play Paddy - I respect your opinion and agree with the Sutton similarity... still personally think we can do better though

I have a strange feeling we'll be signing James Beattie in January - things haven't gone well for him at Everton and today he didn't play (with a 19yr old rookie being prefered upfront) and I heard a commentator/pundit saying that Everton are looking to offload him... He appears to be the type of striker MON is after but I hope my hunch is wrong to be honest :shock:

The papers today are reporting our alledged target Alan Smith is opting for a loan move to Bayern Munich over us, the Barcodes and Everton in January... maybe he's the makeweight required for them to sign Hargreaves?? I personally think we should be looking to sign a more 'physical' striker who'd give us presence up front and can hold onto the ball...

I reckon the Milner deals done and dusted - Newcastle have announced that the Roedent will have cash to spend/waste in January - £4m of that will surely come from bringing Milner back home to VP.

Agreed Pablo - looks likea decent replacement/back-up for Hughes, he's only 19 too!

if we're after a target man - we should go in for Miroslav Klose or Luca Toni, the latter would be easier to get IMO due to the docked points at Fiorentina and the little hope of European football next season Ashton would be great but I don't think west ham will sell

SSN are reporting that the americans shown around yesterday are NOT involved with the Lerner bid and are also reporting the club WILL make some form of statement later today. A statement about what I don't know! I really hope that this is resolved sooner rather than later as I do replacing DOL. If Doug were (how I wish) to accept say Lerner's bid, does he have any legal obligation to listen to any of the other potential bids?? Or can he say, 'I've found the buyer I'm looking for, club sold'?

I wonder if the club are asking the prospective buyers - who they would prefer to be in charge, ie Curbs or O'Neil??? and then install them at the club with the proviso that the deal goes through and certain ammounts of funding is allocated straight away??? I personally think the chances are very slim - it makes too much sense for a start :winkold:
