  1. The problem swith the defence are far more to do with Carlos and Lenglet than they are Cash or Moreno. Both of the central guys are far too slow and a massive downgrade on the players they replace.

  2. When we bought him, he was one half of the third tightest defence in Europe. Whether it's just English football not suiting him, or the injury taking its toll, I don't know. But he's deeply rubbish.

  3. Huge error by Emery today, a really, a really bad decision to take Bailey off. He's been our best player for a while now, and had already bagged an assist.

  4. Yeah thought he played well, and if Watkins hadn't been so terrible today, he'd have had an assist. The ball should never have got s far as McTominay in the first place for their winner.

Yeah, everyone should be excited to have Tom, from Solihull tell them how to do their jobs in passing while abuse is hurled at them by Larry  from Sutton Coldfield.

Some of you have some serious delusions about how people should " engage " especially when they know you don't like them.

As a matter of fact, the only reason some of you are digging for absolutely anything to slate the bloke off for us because of the badge and what you perceived as the issue with the redevelopment, nothing more.

Same with players " mY frIeNds mAtE sAiD hE dEliVeReD mAiL tO lEoN bAiLeYs hOuSe aNd hE wAs a PrIcK " 🤦🏿‍♂️

" I pAy hIS wAgEs aNd hE wOuLnT eVeN gIvE mE a pHoTo "

That was when he was in poor form of course 😂

If we go on an extended bad run and fall to Mid Table Unai Emery's English will also be shit again and his mannerisms and demeanor will turn to " arrogance " and " annoyance "

Utter drivel. This was in the Directors Club hospitality area where people are a bit more civilised, and simply want to say hello and have a 30 second chat. Christian Purslow was always happy to, as was Pitarch. Heck, never.

I asked Heck as I walked past him last night during the game and also said he might want to rethink his stand plans as champions league mag not happen.

    He didn't reply.

He's a miserable bastard. At the Newcastle home game, their CEO Amanda Staveley was walking round chatting to fans and was genuinely lovely. A couple of people tried to engage Heck and he was having none of it. Short arse syndrome.

Anybody ever used a personal trainer and would you recommend it?

Yes, I have a weekly session at our local gym, and it's great. I run three or four times a week now, and in the PT session she mainly works on cardio/core/leg stuff to help with the running. I find with a PT I do much more than I would by myself, because as soon as something starts to be difficult I usually just stop if left to my own devices! I was about 18 stone at the start of 2020, and then lost about four stone, before putting most of it back on again. Now I'm back down to about 13st 10lb, through a combination of eating well, cutting back on drink, and running a fair bit. I can knock out a sub 25 minute 5K now, which isn't too bad for a 52 year old, but I want to get down to about 22 mins if poss. Am doing a half marathon in London in April as well.

I of course understand that, but to me they don't look like good decisions. Our identity is a shambles now. We have three logos! An unpopular badge, a badge with a mandate but disowned by the club, and a trademarked dog's dinner of an effort. So, is this good decisive decision making? I don't think so.

We looked like an ambitious club going places and needing to develop the oldest, most out dated and cramped part of our stadium. Then we pull the plug and the mood music just all feels off now. Are the club saying we now have less ambition. Are the club saying "the ground is big enough for you lot". Are the club saying "we aren't as committed to the current location as we let on".

I just don't like the way these issues have been handled. And I think my position is legitimate.

It just feels like everything Heck does dampens the mood.

And then the manager chips in with "the seven clubs we're competing with are better than us at everything" or words to that effect.

  9. Blimey some of those marathon times above are mental you lot! Just signed up for my first ever half marathon in April, the London Landmarks one. I'm nothing like anywhere close to the sorts of serious times you lot manage though, and I'll be pleased with anything under 2 hours. Me and my eldest daughter signed up to a Couch to 5K club last summer, and she's doing the half with me. We do the local parkrun at Rurland Water every week now, and did a 10K race in November. We're following a ten week programme for the half, and I'm going to try for a 5K PB at the parkrun of under 25 mins this weekend.

    Confirmed out by Emery.

FFS what's the injury? No prognosis or rough return offered.

Every Villa injury always takes weeks longer than the initial prognosis, it's the law. Digne was going to be about for 20-25 days, it's now been a month already.

Why wouldn't they?  I mean if the feasibility study came back and said that everyone loved it - then surely they wouldn't want to risk another entity from trying to register it, or something very similar, first which could then cause them a whole load of pain / money to redress?

I also assume that any trademark protects against anything that closely resembles the design protected rather than just exact matches - i.e. you can't get round a trademark by just adding a small detail and claiming it as your "design", surely, you'd have to demonstrate enough design divergence to "prove" that you've not nicked someone else's idea and just made a slight tweak.  I think there have been lots of cases where big firms have been able to sue companies that have effectively copied their "brand" because it has been ruled that there were insufficient differences in the design and it could lead to confusion with consumers.  If that is the case then it would seem (to me) that you would want the trademarked image to be fairly unclear and "imprecise" as it reduces the number of elements that someone can change subtly to knock off a "fake" version?

Happy to be corrected on any of this by someone who has more knowledge of the process / legal protection of trademarks.

Because there's a timescale required to produce new kits with badges on, and we're well into that. That podcast the other day with that Tanswell fella, he said he's already seen the kits with the badge on. The trademarked badges are what they intend to use. It's not that gold, engraved mock up, it's the shit slightly modified Lerner nonsense. If they had anything else in mind, it would have to be trademarked by now.
