So is it definitely going to be the crest with the plain yellow lion with drop shadow and the subsequent chat about the images showing a somewhat improved crest with the detailed gold lion have been pointless?

    In my opinion, exactly that.

Governments leak possible future policy to see how much pushback is generated. It's possible Heck and co. did similar.

IF those who don't like either/or the star and 1874, acknowledge the majority of fans surveyed wanted them, and we acknowledge that the round badge wasn't working as good brand recognition amongst all the other current round badges in top level football, do we think that the recent images showing a gold (not yellow) lion on a shield are decent and at least acceptable?

They wouldn't register a new crest as a trademark if it was just some sort of feasibility study to see how people react. They also won't be using a badge that they haven't registered as a trademark.

We don't even know what the " branding " is yet.

I also, always find it rich when people choose to call highly successful, educated people with high level track records " idiots " or other superlatives for effect

It's fine disagreeing with people or not liking a project, speech , design, method, approach, decision etc

If he's an idiot it would suggest by default that the people who hired him are idiots.

We are essentially randoms on a message board having passionate meltdowns over hypotheticals and opinions without even having full context or access to all the information or reasoning.

Maybe we, are actually the idiots?

This goes across the board... From fan opinions/assumptions/assertions on Management, Players, Transfers, Finances etc etc

We do know what the new badge is, because they've registered it as a trademark. They wouldn't do that if they weren't going to use it, and they also wouldn't not trademark anything else they were planning on using, like that gold detailed fan mock up.

Seems to me he would suit an Henry style wing/forward. He is such an athlete he could be quite a handful where ever he plays. This season has been a surprise (in terms of the table) which may have restricted his outings as every game is now critical, but agree we shoudl persist. I think getting in another forward and loaning him out next season would be best for his development, he could easily be another Abraham (i.e. nomadic loans; his ceiling is above Tammy's) given his age, he would do well for who ever he joined.

There was a lot more to Henry than just being an athlete, he had the most exquisite skill and eye for goal you'll ever see. Easily the best player to play in the Premier League in my opinion.  But Duran on the wing, seriously? I can't see that that's a good idea at all. He's like a blunderbuss, all power and no precision. If Chelsea do want him, let him go and join Chukwuemeka there and they can form a "not actually that good, thanks for the cash Chelsea you mugs" club.

I really want this to “work”

come on Nico, score a cracker then fly for us…

Would love at least one Italian stallion in our side 🇮🇹🤌

Carbone was one of my favourite players to have ever played for us (despite how short lived it was)…. Ooh…that Leeds hat trick 👌

I'd love it to work, but at the moment his contribution has been negligible and he certainly isn't worth the fee to makes things permanent that's been reported if he makes so many appearances.

  6. I wonder if we brought him back from injury too soon again? He's been absolutely dreadful since he did come back, way, way below the levels he's capable of, so now we have to ask if that was because he wasn't fully fit?

I’m not a fan of the crest, for the many reasons that everyone has stated in here.

However, I don’t think any other fan of any other club will give it a seconds thought. I don’t view West Ham any differently for their monstrosity of a crest, and I doubt many others do either. Unless you really bring yourself to think about it.

I would love a great Villa crest, but only for us fans, not what others think. And the vast majority of other fans will be indifferent to it.

I understand that branding is important, but I think we’re overplaying the severity of this.

Well I'm not hugely bothered by the fact that Burnley are in the bottom three, but I guess their fans probably are. Fans of a team being more interested in their own club's going on shocker!

  8. It's good that it's getting traction in the press from people like Tanswell. Hopefully the FA will be having a swift word and Heck will be summoned to Nas's office to explain how he's made such a terrible pig's ear of the whole process.

  9. I remember Purslow talking a bit about kit deals when he first arrived, saying how difficult it was to manage initially after being promoted via the play offs. One moment you're a Championship club, then 90 minutes later you're a Premier League club and everything changes. From memory, it wasn't really Luke and Kappa as kit suppliers was it, the deal was with Fanatics with design being done by Luke and Kappa. And Fanatics had done the Bucks kits so maybe that intro came from Wes. But anyway, impossible to say how much influence Heck has had on this.

Repeating myself. But why didn't we have a major Adidas deal previously then?

Impossible to know. But like the Gerrard appointment, perhaps Nas was happy to leave those sorts of decisions to Purslow to start with.  Maybe Castore were offering people like us and Newcastle silly money to build their brand ahead of the more established suppliers.
