He's clearly miles off being fully fit, and is a shadow of the player we know he can be. Unfortunately, we don't really have any alternatives, so he's going to have to mfind his form, and quickly.

call me naiive, but i'm not actually concerned. he's not stinking the place out by any stretch, just hasn't quite hit the early standards he set initially.
He's been dreadful. Getting subbed against Sheffield United at 0-0 tells you everything about his form. One goal (against Luton) since the end of August, not remotely acceptable.

He's got to learn to play regularly, and he's never going to get that at Villa at the moment. He's a liability rather than an asset when he comes on, and he needs a big amount of game time to knock off his many rough edges. I can't remember many youngsters who ultimately make it by only playing 5 minutes here and there.

That is very, very funny.
"Here's something to look at with no notice. Any specific changes off the top of your head? No? Does anyone here not hate it? I count one person. We'll crack on then, show yourselves out "
My thoughts exactly. Can anybody who was there describe what the crest they were presented with looked like?

My mate who was at the game and doesn't look at anything online said about the big centre circle flag thing last night "what's that supposed to say?"

He was crap but anyone blaming him for the goal being ruled out needs to have a word with themselves.
It’s one of the worst VAR decisions I’ve seen. That’s not on JJHaving seen it I thought it was fair enough. He's preventing the keeper from moving properly ny holding on to him.

He's been poor for weeks now. Either rightly left out of the side, or subbed like tonight. Your most expensive, attacking star player shouldn't be getting subbed when the scores are still 0-0 to the bottom team.
-
Not bad at all, didn't look out of place. The disappointing result wasn't any of his doing.
-
I like Cash a lot, but was really disappointed with him tonight. He slowed our play down every time he got the ball, and was always looking to lay the ball off to McGinn behind him. I think he gets harshly criticised when playing out of position wide right, but he was in his preferred right back spot tonight, and just wasn't very good, sadly.
-
He's just a big daft carthorse that we massively overpaid for. Send him out on loan to the Championship or League 1 in January so he can play regularly and try to learn some discipline. We need much, much better as an alternative up front, he's absolutely hopeless.

Poor again tonight. He's obviously very, very rusty still. Hopefully Tielemans is fit for Man U so we can introduce JJ a bit more gradually.

An announcement cancelling the expansion closely followed by announcement confirming the next step on the way to station expansion. Something is very weird here!
It's all very odd. Announce a new investment partner specialising in financing capital projects, then cancel the expansion project a few days later. Club president hinting to fans that they can't spend £100m on players AND a new stand.

Oh come off it.
The Lichfield Road Dual Carriageway is virtually adjacent to the ground. There is massive industrial parks all around Villa Park, Brookvale Road is a big road used to serve Atlas Industrial Estate.
And were talking about 25,000 less than Old Trafford, that's like like sticking The Hawthorns right on top of new Villa Park. And they have no mainline trains that take thousands away.
This argument is nonsense as many have already said, the transport plan was accepted by the planners. They've done their calculations and were happy with it.
Whatever mate, after every game it always takes an hour at least to get to the M6. On the several times I've been to Old Trafford, it's much, much easier to get away from.

Oh sure. It's on the outskirts with dual carriageway roads spreading out in all directions. Hardly any traffic at all round Stretford.
It's 2.4 miles from St Peter's Square.
Villa Park is 3.6 miles away from Victoria Square with a motorway immediately adjacent. It's almost rural compared to Old Trafford.
The transport argument is complete nonsense.
Old Trafford is on the edge of an industrial estate used to dealing with a high volume of traffic with three main A roads two minutes away. It's not surrounded by narrow Victorian streets like Villa Park is, that are are all mostly two narrow for two large modern cars to pass comfortably. Last time I went to Old Trafford (when we beat them 1-0 under Smith) I was back him in Leicester in less time than it usually takes me from Birmingham. Being close to the M^ is all well and good for Villa, but getting to it is a bloody nightmare.

The colours were on the one Heck posted on twitter.
And also it's not the badge or the crest!
Why are people judging this like it's the crest? It's shit, but it's not the club badge!
I can't see that anybody has said it is? It's the logo, the topic title makes it clear it's the logo, and we're giving our opinion on the logo. Is that OK?

As crap as I think this logo is, I'm surprised at how angry some people are about it.
It's not the badge.
Personally, it's a visible rpresentation of what a useless chancer Heck is.

Why DOES it look so shit then?

They haven't just enlarged something too much have they, with the weird pixellated bits? I mean, that would be amateurish beyond belief...
-
Doesn't look any different at all. ie, still shit.

The stylised A which has more than a bit in common with a stylised H given it's missing the vital 'point' of the top of the A.
The stylised V which actually has more of a U in its construction given it's also got the rounded point.
The placement of the 150 which confuses how to read the entire thing.
The gradient of the 150 rolling into the stylised V in such a way that, with the stylisation, can be read as the V actually being a very stylised cursive 0 so it becomes 1500.
The weird mashup of a (bad) Edwardian calligraphy knock off in the AV with a more modernised cursive 150 but which isn't so different to the calligraphy style that it kinda gets lost on the legibility.
You'd probably be better able to read it if you shifted the 150 diagonally up to the right, next to the A and above the V, and put it in a pointedly different font. And then changed the calligraphy of the A and the V to actually be legible as what they are under the flourishes.
Its just not good and what's worse is you can see what they wanted to do so obviously (they want the Victorian/Edwardian heritage thing so went with a calligraphy style you'd see on the side of a 1920s delivery wagon, or a circus cart, but **** it up when they realised they had to do something slightly different to a million other 'A's in a million other sports teams, and then they wanted the 150 to be more approachable and modern so did a take on the nice standard cursive script, badly).
Its just rubbish. It looks good if you have extremely bad near or far sightedness and forgot your glasses so can only see blurry colours.
I know nothing about graphic design, but I know something shit when I see it. You can't read it. The letters don't look like the letters they're supposed to be, the numbers are a mess and in the wrong position and it's a weird mix of old and new, with the old being nothing like anything you'd see in 1874. It's just a really badly designed mess, basically. It just worries me that Heck, who is supposed to be good at this sort of thing, thinks that it's even vaguely acceptable, both in terms of the actual logo, and the half-arsed amateur way it's been revealed, with a low key tweet from his personal Twitter account and half a mention in his absolutely dreadful video. All of this doesn't present much of an idea that he really knows what he's doing. I think all he's done is can Purslow's effort, then take the same brief to a different design agency. There's not going to be any significant overhaul of our brand, it's just him marking his territory like a stray cat. He doesn't appear to get 'soccer', at all.

He was awful, beat his man once that I can recall. Absolutely woeful tonight when he came on.
