I've barely done anything since snapping my achillies in 2020. Started running 3k twice a week and the soles of my feet are absolutely killing me.Β

I've never really ever just done running. It was always playing a sport. Bit annoyed as I was genuinely motivated and now had to stop till this pain eases up. Its been over a week.Β

Are they sore as in rubbing, or just aching from the phyical effort? If the latter than maybe get some ultra-cushioned running shoes. Always worth going to a proper running shop for good advice and/or gait analysis.

I think Zaniolo was treated unfairly. This man was not trusted from the very beginning. The coach never showed that he trusted Zaniolo. He did not get enough time to prove himself. Even in the 10-minute game, not even a pass was made when he was available. He came in as a savior in the last minutes of lost matches. He was never considered a starting 11 player. I don't think there will be any efficiency in this system.

If you're that upset Nicolo, maybe take it up with Unai at training.

His performance at Bournemouth was the final nail in the coffin for me. I believe he was playing in a position he favours and he was atrocious that day, before eventually being hooked at half time.

You simply can’t be afforded minutes in this league putting in a performance like he did on that day. Since then, he’s barely kicked a ball.Β

I don’t really blame anybody for the signing but he is not joining permanently and he’ll go down as another Italian that has struggled in the league. A really poor player as far as I’m concerned.Β

Completely agree. Probably exacerbated by the fact that he knows he's not getting a permanent signing now and he can't be arsed.

  4. The problem swith the defence are far more to do with Carlos and Lenglet than they are Cash or Moreno. Both of the central guys are far too slow and a massive downgrade on the players they replace.

  5. When we bought him, he was one half of the third tightest defence in Europe. Whether it's just English football not suiting him, or the injury taking its toll, I don't know. But he's deeply rubbish.

  6. Huge error by Emery today, a really, a really bad decision to take Bailey off. He's been our best player for a while now, and had already bagged an assist.

  7. Yeah thought he played well, and if Watkins hadn't been so terrible today, he'd have had an assist. The ball should never have got s far as McTominay in the first place for their winner.

Yeah, everyone should be excited to have Tom, from Solihull tell them how to do their jobs in passing while abuse is hurled at them by LarryΒ  from Sutton Coldfield.

Some of you have some serious delusions about how people should " engage " especially when they know you don't like them.

As a matter of fact, the only reason some of you are digging for absolutely anything to slate the bloke off for us because of the badge and what you perceived as the issue with the redevelopment, nothing more.

Same with players " mY frIeNds mAtE sAiD hE dEliVeReD mAiL tO lEoN bAiLeYs hOuSe aNd hE wAs a PrIcK " πŸ€¦πŸΏβ€β™‚οΈ

" I pAy hIS wAgEs aNd hE wOuLnT eVeN gIvE mE a pHoTo "

That was when he was in poor form of course πŸ˜‚

If we go on an extended bad run and fall to Mid Table Unai Emery's English will also be shit again and his mannerisms and demeanor will turn to " arrogance " and " annoyance "

    Β

Utter drivel. This was in the Directors Club hospitality area where people are a bit more civilised, and simply want to say hello and have a 30 second chat. Christian Purslow was always happy to, as was Pitarch. Heck, never.Β

I asked Heck as I walked past him last night during the game and also said he might want to rethink his stand plans as champions league mag not happen.

    He didn't reply.

He's a miserable bastard. At the Newcastle home game, their CEO Amanda Staveley was walking round chatting to fans and was genuinely lovely. A couple of people tried to engage Heck and he was having none of it. Short arse syndrome.

Anybody ever used a personal trainer and would you recommend it?

Yes, I have a weekly session at our local gym, and it's great. I run three or four times a week now, and in the PT session she mainly works on cardio/core/leg stuff to help with the running. I find with a PT I do much more than I would by myself, because as soon as something starts to be difficult I usually just stop if left to my own devices! I was about 18 stone at the start of 2020, and then lost about four stone, before putting most of it back on again. Now I'm back down to about 13st 10lb, through a combination of eating well, cutting back on drink, and running a fair bit. I can knock out a sub 25 minute 5K now, which isn't too bad for a 52 year old, but I want to get down to about 22 mins if poss. Am doing a half marathon in London in April as well.

I of course understand that, but to me they don't look like good decisions. Our identity is a shambles now. We have three logos! An unpopular badge, a badge with a mandate but disowned by the club, and a trademarked dog's dinner of an effort. So, is this good decisive decision making? I don't think so.

We looked like an ambitious club going places and needing to develop the oldest, most out dated and cramped part of our stadium. Then we pull the plug and the mood music just all feels off now. Are the club saying we now have less ambition. Are the club saying "the ground is big enough for you lot". Are the club saying "we aren't as committed to the current location as we let on".

I just don't like the way these issues have been handled. And I think my position is legitimate.Β

It just feels like everything Heck does dampens the mood.

And then the manager chips in with "the seven clubs we're competing with are better than us at everything" or words to that effect.

  12. Blimey some of those marathon times above are mental you lot! Just signed up for my first ever half marathon in April, the London Landmarks one. I'm nothing like anywhere close to the sorts of serious times you lot manage though, and I'll be pleased with anything under 2 hours. Me and my eldest daughter signed up to a Couch to 5K club last summer, and she's doing the half with me. We do the local parkrun at Rurland Water every week now, and did a 10K race in November. We're following a ten week programme for the half, and I'm going to try for a 5K PB at the parkrun of under 25 mins this weekend.
