  1. Never write Everton off. Pretty sure they'll hit a good run of form at some point.
  2. I did exactly that a few years back and am still waiting to collect my good karma.
  3. A Burnley supporting mate of mine said the cricket club has no atmosphere. Said he'd take us to a place where they'd be plenty of Villa (possibly that 110 club?). Must be a half and half pub or something, like Cap n Gown.
  4. Should I say the same about Milner or Young in relation to Villa finishing 6th and winning nowt? Personally I don't think so. But we don't rate them as highly as your lot rate Lennon.
  5. I think the only thing they should brin gin should be goal line technology to determine whether the ball has crossed the line or not.
  6. And yes, you do remember correctly. They did make a film about it! (EDIT: Wiki Link potentially NSFW, due to nice hand drawn diagram)
  7. I'm sure the woman would be practically begging for a punch in this situation.
  8. dunno. depends on the exact circs. But in all honesty, i'f try to disarm and restrain i think. obviously, if someone stood before me with a gun and said, hit this woman or i will shoot you and then her, i'd hit her. But in the normal course of predictable or commonplace events which may well occur in my life, i can't envisage a scenario where i would have to hit a woman, no. What if they only threatened to shoot you?
  9. It really angers when women take advantage of 'can't hit a woman rule' and decide to beat the crap out of blokes without no fear of retalaliation. I would hit a woman to protect myself or someone I loved without question, I would never hit a woman first, or over a verbal argument.
  10. I think we may be the fans to sub-conciously hope for injuries or suspensions. It's the only way we'll ever get changes.
  11. Well SWP struggles, because he is diabolical. Awful awful awful. Come on Mr Capello, surely you've seen enough of him now.
  12. Is the cricket club the place to go then? I assume we'll be served beer in the stadium? Not liking this no beer for away fans trend of late.
  13. Capello loves Milner. He rarely praises players but he gave Milner a thumbs up based on Saturday's performance and I remember a while back in a press conference he said "Milner is the future".
  14. Not entirely sure about this at the moment (discounting the injury of course).
  15. Anyway, who says were a defensive minded team. We've only had a decent defence for the last 2 and a half months. Remember how awful our defence were for the second half of last season, and all due to just one injury. Plus we've always scored a good amount of goals ourselves. Season before last we scored 3rd most in the league, with more or less the same attacking players we have now, and we were hardly goal shy last season either.
  16. Glaston, indentifying defence as the key does not mean playing for a draw in a every game.
  17. It isn't THE key. The key is winning a big proportion of games, even if you lose a fair few, because winning one game is worth 3 draws. Winning lots of games usually means scoring a good amount of of goals. Thus attacking strength and intent is more important than defensive solidity, and the former is partly gained at the expense of the latter. A team may do well by just setting out to keep things tight and play only on the counter-attack, but it probably won't do well enough in terms of getting all 3 points often enough. Defence was the key for Man Utd winning the title last season when they clocked up somewhere in the region of 15-20 1-0 wins.
  18. Isn't it The Time Is Now, by Moloko? No, that was last season (unless Kev is a year behind). It's this year alright, and might be Ian Brown, but I'm not sure It's 'Club Foot' by Kasabian.
  19. Angel and Big Dion for me. Their goal scoring records speak for themselves. Think Gabby is maybe 1 or 2 years shy of breaking in there.
  20. Grizzly man is awesome. Watched it recently, fascinating stuff. What a fruit loop Treadwell was.
  21. Watched In Bruges last night. Was very impressed. Very amusing as well and I think it's the first time I've ever heard Colin Farrell talk in his native accent..
