  1. General, do you think it's time to get rid of that godawful "Hi-Ho Aston Villa" song that is played before every kick-off? I think nothing should be played after the team has assembled on the pitch, as the entry theme they come out to is enough. In my opinion, its really naff as well. The "Hi-Ho" song really drowns out the fans trying to sing in certain parts of the ground! Surely there must be a better song out there to play, if we need to play a song at all that is....
  2. I'll probably watch some of the highlights, but I'm not too interested to be honest. My "dream" final would involve a massive chasm opening up in the pitch and all of the players being sucked in.
  3. If there was an option for in-between I would have voted that, but having witnessed the Chelsea goal, and that wonderful season where he was on fire, the man is a hero in my eyes.
  4. I only fronted the question because I find it very frustrating when I see loads of Manure/Arse/Chelsea/Liverpool shirts being worn by youngers nowadays in Birmingham, when they have 1 at present and maybe 3 potential (next season) PL teams WITHIN A TEN MILE RADIUS. It can be hard to find a Villa shirt in a sports shop in brum nowadays - the worst culprits are JJB Sports. If you only support a team because they are/were successful and have a lot of media exposure, then more fool you! I also know that if any of those brummy red sods had ever been to Mancland, they'd see how much of a shithole it is and would renounce their flimsy "allegance" immediately.
  5. I was having this debate with a mate of mine last night. We are both from Brum, both of us support Villa being the nearest team to where we were born and the fact that most of our families also supported Villa through the ages. Now, a bit of background. Both of us either hate or pity Small Heath (of course). We've never met a Small Heathen who we could say that we liked, or was able to have a decent conversation about football with, without the obligatory decent into the slanging match. However the only redeeming feature we had was that despite many crawling out of the woodwork in summer 2002, at least you could say they supported their local team. Despite all the guff that happened from 2002-2005, and what will invariably happen if they come back up, at least you'll find a majority of brummys going to their games. However, despite the fact that the city is quite polarised between Villa and SHA, more often that not I will see an abundance of Man Utd fans walking through town, or on the bus. These plastic mancs have brum accents, with no connection to Manchester. Last night I was walking past a bar on broad street on my way home from work. It was only 7 PM but it was already rammed with Man Utd fans, all with strong birmingham accents. Many of which probably jumped on the corporate glory hunting bandwagon during the 1990's (lifelong fans, no less  ) So we questioned who was the worst - SHA "fans" or Brummy reds?
  6. I did'nt watch the game on SKY (I was in the Lower Holte at VP), but if it was anything to go by the terrible commentary he gave when we played WHAM earlier in the season, he would have been biased to the extreme. He probably hates our guts but does'nt admit it as he has to provide a balanced viewpoint to his paymasters. Nowhere near as bad as Mark Bright though.
  7. We have'nt really gone anywhere, playing wise....
  8. Oh dear Mike, you've really dropped yourself in it there with that one.
  9. My MurdochSpace page, if anyone is interested: www.myspace.com/djmegaton Add yourself if you like....
  10. Don't hold your breath for that. You'll die. Barry will never start a game with McUseless in charge, however well he is playing.
  11. ...actually, not even that. Their best players are Koldo, Oscar Sonejee, and Marc Bernaus who all play in the Andorran regional league (which is in the equivalent of the Ryman's League). The only overseas player is Ildefonso Lima, who plays for the reserve team of Italian Seria C2 club Triestina. God, I would LOVE them to win or draw. It would be hilarious.
  12. Are there any pros in the Andorra squad? I think most of them play in the Spanish 3rd/4th/regional divisions don't they?
  13. Watch as he runs the ball into touch every time he gets it, and has to cut infield with his right foot to cross.
  14. Thing is, Lump-hard will never be dropped. He forms part of a little clique of England players who are practically untouchable. Lump-hard asked McClown to drop Barton due to his personal spat with the Man City player. McClown duly obliged.
  15. Will Stewart McDowningClaren ever be dropped? :?:

Bloody 'el! I was still at Uni when this thread was started!
  17. No way. If it helps get rid of McUseless.....
  18. Connery by a country mile.
  19. Its very rare that any Premiership player would need the money from a testimonial anyway, especially such a waste of space as Lil' Lee. This is'nt a charity match, its for him. I'd only go if the money was going to be put to good causes. I can't see how he's been here for so long, I don't know who would come. I doubt Ronaldinho will be itching to fly to Birmingham.
  20. I prefer - "NI!"* *One for Monty Python fans there
  21. I voted no, I don't want them coming up. Before the 2002-2003 season I was looking forward to the derbies, thinking that they would not be good natured affairs but have a modicum of dignity (having never witnessed one before). After witnessing their incessant hatred, indignant bleating, their "cup-finals" and racist thug mentality during the matches, as well as the sheer gall they had to charge me £ 45 for a crap view in their shitty away section, I think not. I'd rather they stayed down and went bust, thanks.
  22. That side tend to be the deluded side. I would'nt bother listening to them.
