I can quite easily see the Defoe rumour resurfacing again strongly this summer. He needs regular first team football which he won't get at SPurs, especially if they sign Bent and I get the feeling he's a player MON rates so we'll see.....

Either Defoe or Darren Bnet please. Defoe is overrated but does score goals and I think MON likes him. Only problem is he dosen't seem the sort to me who'd want to leave London unless Manure came in for him.

If MON was at the Madrid game, I believe he would be watching Hinkel, the Sevilla RB who has good experience for them Stuttgart and Germany but hasn't been first choice this season. Might be Kanoute though!

He did that a few games ago with Sidwell, dropped him to look at future options although I couldn't really see him donig much against possible future employees.

I'm torn tbh on whether we need it or not. We have 3 out and out strikers in Moore, Carew and Gabby. Hopefully Moore will see more game time this year but you can never rule out injuries. Ideally you'd look for an additional striker to make it 4. However things get complicated as we have Maloney and Young who can also play as forwards. The issue of formation also starts to crop up. People talk of Bellamy, Bent and Defoe but dont we have those types of player already, is a back up to Carew that we actually need? Then throw in the issue of Gabby and Moore needing as many games as possible to prove whether we do need that proven goalscorer or if they are already in the squad. And also how many other positions also need new players and how much we''ll have to spend. I dont think it's a straightforward issue at all. It is a straightforward issue, what happens if Moore or Carew get a bad injury like this season, it is very likely to happen over a long season. Young should be just on the wing.

Does he play for Celtic? :winkold: The more I think about it, the more I think the Defoe link will resurface again strongly in the summer as I think MON rates him a lot and I'd rather have him than Bellamy as he scores more goals. The Ghana fans i know claim he could be as good as Essien and from what i've seen of him i agree, he's a box to box player with pace, stength and can create too, he'd be an absolute snip if we manage to get him, he's only 23 too so he can only get better, he's got the trusty left foot that could replace Berger's imo. Didn't he play on the right of midfield for Ghana with Essien and Appaih in the centre at the world cup? Manure were interested in him I think when Ronaldo was sulking although obviously a different type of player.

I think a swop would be a good deal for both parties, keep Taylor as number two.

Both Boruc and Gordon are excellent keepers and would probably be upgrades on Sorensen. Not a high priority area but if we were in a good position to sign either (particularly Boruc) we should take that chance.
