First of all, Lambert is the one who turned down Dempsey after we could have gone in for him again later in the day. Secondly, when has Lambert every shown a desire to get in the "big" players? Where in his coaching history has that ever been his philosophy? Finally, how do you type "So it's clearly Lerner's policy[,] not Lambert's." with out any justification at all in your post. The team we're creating wouldn't get anywhere near the final. Can you honestly believe that Lambert is trying not trying to create a team that will win things like that. It's not a quick fix. It's not going to happen this season, It's likely it won't happen next season. The longer Lambert has to create his team the more likely it will be a winning team. I hope you're right, but make no mistake this is the worst Villa squad I've seen since 86/87. We haven't got time. If we get it wrong this season we'll be relegated and the shit will hit the fan. He has been a consistent goal getting for quite a few seasons now. He knows he is in the prime of his career and wants to move up. Do not agree on Gabby. Looking at strike for Bordeaux and Villa, respectively, Gabby bangs one in every .248 matches, while Chamakh scored on an average of every .247 matches, making Gabby just slightly better.
