    Managed to convince a casual fan to come down tonight with me and another mate. Hoping for a good turn out both in the stands and on the pitch.

    Needs resting mid-week and maybe even against QPR next weekend. Besides Gabby through the middle right now isn't exactly the worst of options is it?

    He's done well for us so far this season but in the long term he is holding us back by denying the like of Bannan, Ireland and to a lesser extent Jenas a place in the team. He has a great attitude, work rate and his strength is something that we really lack when he isn't on the pitch but I can't help but feel he shouldn't be starting every game.

    The hypocrisy on here is incredible, a lot of people screaming for him (and other youngsters) to get a run of games and their chance in the squad. So after 4 games (and one MotM performance too) people are calling for his head. Give him a chance. He's still fairly young, especially in relative terms considering his injuries of late, peaks and troughs are to be expected.

    Zoggy had very little pre-season at all, not just here but at Wigan as well. So he was set to be worse off than usual this season from the get-go. Not to mention moving from to a different system up at Wigan to us. I don't expect that much of him until Christmas time, when I'm hoping for to see some positive signs moving forward.

    Possibility of a result methinks, Everton are a bit of a wounded animal at the minute. Losing Arteta and Beckford rumbles of discontent from the stands. And with Jenas/Hutton having signed and Bannan appearing to be in good form we could steal our first away win of the season.

    Hoping we could have a chance of a few points as a result of the big black cloud that seems to be lurking over Goodison Park for some time now. Struggling to see where the goals and opportunities are going to be coming from, perfect opportunity for Gabby to make an impression in his favourite position if we don't play Bent.

    Agree with the other posters, should definitely be Herd's place to lose. If he has a shocker against Everton then he can have no complaints if Lichaj or Hutton takes the place. But a bit of faith in our youngsters and giving them the oppotunity to prove themselves and develop a little could be all they need to start stepping up.

    Should be used to rotate with Herd/Lichaj to see if their up to the challenge of PL, he could still come good though after all as everyone has been saying he has been out for some time.

    How was Downing or Youngs 1st 3 games for Villa. Hardly spectacular Young scored on his debut. Downing scored in his first start against Pompey in League Cup N'Zogbia scored on his debut away at Braga. Give the kid a break, we all knew his fitness wasn't the best after an interrupted pre-season anyway.
