Aussie mentality?

I have heard that expression a lot over the past few months since we signed him. Where does it come from? There is absolutely no difference between the mentality of a British, Australian, Norwegian or Brazilian footballer! What matters is the level of skill. Aussie mentality my ass.

I think you are blind if you can not see the difference between those nationalities. I am in no way saying Australians are superior but there is definitely an inbuilt drive to succeed within Australian sport even if we aren't the most skillful.

I don't understand why it's so important to get a new manager right now.

It's been what? A week since the ginger mug left? So what we want is the board to run out and get the first available candidate? Given their recent track record (especially given their last appointment) is this knee-jerk reaction really what fans want?

Preseason doesn't start for a few weeks (months?) yet. Getting the right manager in place is much, much more important than getting someone now.

Whatever happened to forward planning and contingency planning? The exit of AMC was predictable for a very long time before it actually happened. Surely it's not too much to ask for the board to be prepared for this, and to have a firm idea of who they want - then go out and get them? Pro-active or re-active?

Its so true. They knew for weeks Mcleish was getting sacked, for god sake he went first thing monday morning. It was a done deal for ages.

The board should have been scouting around, interviewing people. Who cares if you piss off another chairman or chief exec.

Im going to reserve judgement on Lerner until the new manager is in place however It really seems like the bloke has no forward planning. You dont just start the managerial search tuesday morning, this is something that should have been planned weeks ago.

Why do you always ask for threads to be locked when you've had enough of it? If you've had enough then simply stop reading it...surely that isn't too hard is it?

The Mods are Mods for a reason and i'm sure they know when to call it a day on a thread, the fact there is a photo of Martinez and Henry doesn't mean it is done and dusted at all. Henry will be meeting a few candidates i'm sure, and there is a possibility that Lerner has also met him he just didn't get caught on camera with him.

And if i was Martinez and a couple of teams came in for me, I think i'd speak to them both to see what was the best offer for me.

Until Villa, Liverpool or Martinez himself officially says something i see no reason at all to lock this thread, just because you are bored of it.

One thing you must understand about CI is he tries to ruin every thread with his drivel.
