  1. I'd say more

    ----------------Guzan------------------

    Lowton---Vlaar---Clark------********

    ---------Westwood--*********---------

    -------------------------------------------

    *******--------Ireland----------Gabby

    -----------Benteke---------------------

The *'s are the spots that need strengthening. The others can wait until the summer.

  2. Ignore his drivel?

    You're probably right!

I Like Lambert and I thought the subs today actually gave us more of a foothold in a game we were getting battered in. Admittedly I'd have liked to have seen Ireland at some point but Delph (who I don't rate) didn't do too badly.

QPR have some good players and Redknapp will get them playing again. Today wasn't that bad of a point. We do need to go and beat Stoke though.

  3. Impressed with Westwood again. Such Calmness and elegance on the ball at times. He wasn't at his best today but you can see he is a very tidy footballer.

Would loved to have seen Ireland today as I thought the game was crying out for him to link up with Westwood just behind Benteke.

    But, In Lambert we trust.

A good point, and we go again against Stoke.

  4. Mertens as in Dries Mertens, the guy who broke Gary Cahill's jaw (put him out of the Euros) by cowardly pushing him into Joe Hart at full speed in a friendly? The same friendly he spent half the time rolling around on the floor acting like a petulant child? I'd rather have Heskey back.

    Not sure If serious. :detect:

  5. Yes because our squad is so vast that we can afford to get rid of 8 players and replace them with just 4.

5 of those players dont play, and the other two are crap.

Replacing them with 4 good players would be a terrific bit of business.

  6. Blatantly a case of money going to Sunderland if he registers another appearance for us.

Not sure where we go with this as a club, but if its a couple of million pound we're talking then I say leave him out.

I trust Lambert in January to go and get a few more good, willing players for the club so Bents sale could help with this.

  7. ---------------------------Benteke-----------------------------

    Gabby-------------------------------------------------Holman

    ----------------------------Ireland------------------------------

    ------------------Bannan------Westwood--------------------

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

    Lichaj-----------Clark------------Vlaar---------------Lowton

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

    ---------------------------Guzan--------------------------------

4-2-3-1 is our best system and has worked well for us of late. I'd bring in Ireland and push Holman out to the right as I think he offers more than Weimann.

Will be a tough game this one. A draw wouldn't be the worst result if we can beat Stoke.

  8. We're just going to have to take it to them.

One problem with the Reading match was that we didn't take the initiative which is what we will have to do here.

Their players and fans will be up for it due to it being their first game under Mr Handsome. And he'll enjoy trying to beat us as we're not in his good books.

I hope we get an early goal (Before twenty minutes) because that'll shut them right up. I think we will and add one more to that. If we stay tight at the back and keep our concentration we shouldn't concede.

I'll go with 2-0 to us.

    I'd play -

    ---------------Bent------Benteke------

    ------------------Weimann-------------

    Ireland----------------------El Ahmadi

    -----------------Westwood-------------

    Lichaj------Baker------Clark------Lowton

    --------------------Guzan---------------

With Holman and Agbonlahor getting at least half an hour. Bannan getting at least fifteen minutes.

Chances are Bent won't start (Or possibly be anywhere near the squad, so in that case I'd put Agbonlahor in there)

You must have had 8pints before typing this nonsense!

  9. bent started 6 games we scored 5 goals in those 6 games ( 1 of those we were down to 10 men)

games bent has not started 8 scored 6

and in one of those bent came on as a sub and scored

so the stats this season also prove we score more with him than without him so we are factually LESS likely to score without him in the current system

So we'll just disregard the opposition then?

Am I the only one that thinks Bent is overrated?

  10. Totally agree with you here.

    .

There was no mistake with the Walker deal. He was brilliant for us and helped us survive that season. Spurs would never have given us him with the option to buy at the end because they probably knew how good he would turn out.

Whilst I agree an option to buy is certainly better, in this case, I think we had no choice.
