  1. We need fullbacks with a bit of pace and the ability to take a man on. Digne is very tidy on the ball and technically very astute but so often he gets into a good position and because he knows he doesn’t have the pace to beat a man, he just stops and crosses the ball. It’s very easy to defend against.

He’s not a bad player, he’s just not worth £160k a week in wages. That’s a scandalous amount for us to be paying him.

He’s fine for the time being (I suppose), but I have a sneaky suspicion Emery wants much more from the fullbacks and he may see both positions as a priority to improve upon.

  2. This team needs pace and strength added throughout. I don’t think it’s a coincidence we look better with Ramsey and McGinn playing as wide 8’s as they have a bit of tenacity and don’t give up the ball easily.

I’d love us to go out and find faster fullbacks, but I don’t think that’s a priority. Yet.

  3. He was obviously poor in the first half but improved slightly being moved out onto the right.

He’s so frustratingly inconsistent and as much as I want him to come good, he really needs to have a couple of good games back to back to show he’s got a future here.

He’s got something about him, more than Buendia, I’m just never sure it’s enough.

  4. It’s got to the point now where we can’t really use the ‘he needs a run of games’ excuse for his performances.

He’s way off it for me. Too slow, too weak, too predictable.

Not a bad player, just not worth half what we paid for him and we won’t finish in the top half until players of his level are replaced in our starting XI.

Woeful. Bailey's finish at the end sunned it up.

    Dogshit performance.

I'm finish at that bag of piss served up just now. It's like they felt they done it all at White Hart Lane and only had to turn up today.

I don't want players at my club with that attitude **** whoever think a that way off.

Out off.the ball movement at home was non existent. Out intent, our purpose, our gameplan was nothing.

Utter shit Villa and aim not lettering the manager get away Scott free as he sets them up,  organises them and he got outdone early and didn't change it.

Worst performance from Emery and his side.

Hahaha, it would be a hard transfer to pull off. A transfer that would probably make more sense trying to pull of in the summer. He’s a player I wish we went for when he was at Reading.

    So much pulling off.

  7. It's weird, I think Digne is a good player and I quite like him, but it doesn't mean I think it was a good signing. I actually think it was a stupid signing given the sums involved.

That is a scary 6 forwards to pick from for them now.

    I’m not so sure.

Firmino will leave at the end of the season and Salah is finally looking to be slowing down albeit still a very good player.

Nunez has become a joke figure and Gakpo, well, who knows, but there are several high profile players from the Dutch league that have come here and flopped quite badly.

Diaz - looks to be a good player. Jota, good player but not world class. I wouldn’t fear facing him.

It’s a good front 6, but it’s no Mane, Salah and Firmino 2/3 years ago.

They also have Thiago and Henderson who aren’t getting any younger.

I don’t know, they’re still a very good team, but maybe they’ll fade a bit over the next couple of years.

Apparently spending another 100m on a player. Can someone explain to me how they havent breached FFP? As that takes their spending to almost 400m?

Not even city have spent that much in a season

No, and City, to be fair to them, move players on quite regularly for decent sums of money.

This kind of spending is beyond the pale. I don’t know how they’re managing it and I hope their house of cards comes crashing down (it most likely won’t).
