Moreno is quicker than Digne. Deulofeu is quicker than Buendia.
We need pace. So this is positive for me!

Article says Moreno is close and one of Digne or Augustinsson will be made available if we sign him.
Also Bednarek future unclear.
Says we want 3 signings total.
Moreno, Deulofeu, Sarr?

I'm sure Emery would like to replace the whole squad with better players if he could, but that's not really feasible is it.
The players who I mentioned don't play and should be a priority to ship out, not our top scorer.
But our top scorer doesn't start. Should we sell Watkins instead then?

There are some players that needs moved on, Guilbert, Nakamba, Sanson etc. Ings isn't one of them.
Ok. So you think we can keep Ings and Watkins, on a combined weekly salary of £200k+ and bring in another striker that’s better than both (because we want to improve right?)?
Ings is a prime candidate to be sold. Getting older, huge wages, reserve striker. We as a club need to back ourselves to sell players that we know aren’t going to get us to where we want to be, and then bring in players that we think might. It’s down to the scouting department to work that out.

Mobile enough to keep scoring for us though. It’s a myth that he’s not mobile, he’s just not as mobile as Watkins but very few are. Just bonkers thinking he should be sold.
Ok, let’s keep him. Let’s keep all of our players and see if we break into Europe.

I'd love us to move Ings on and bring a new striker in. I don't mind Ings, I don't Watkins, I just know we're never going to improve if we don't get better. Ings is a good footballer but he is on massive wages, only getting older and isn't as mobile as he should be given the money he costs us.

Hopefully he gets them promoted then we can loan him out to them in the PL next season
This would be ideal. If not, he needs to go out on loan again next season and keep scoring goals and playing football at a good level. No need to rush him back here. If he is out on loan until he's 23, that's fine.

Watched some clips of him, kind of reminds me of Buendia.
Let's avoid him then.

Not sure Percy gets much from the club these days. Can't remember the last time he reported on anything first or broke a story.
There are a couple who seem to get most things first - Maher, Collomosse and the chap from the BBC - I forget his name. That's in this country though. Foreign journalists usually report on things first.Moreno seems like the strongest link of this window so far. Then you have McKennie, Deulofeu and Sarr who have all been mentioned a few times. Who knows what will happen - but we'll be signing somebody I imagine.

Lyric - Tier 1 - LOL. The same guy that said Bednarek wasn't joining and has deleted everything he got wrong?
Also, we get it, you're Lyric.

Fair amount of speculation now. Looks as though this guy might be the first signing of the window? Not sure about the age profile..

I wonder if we could f*** Digne off to Saudi Arabia.

As long as he’s quick, I’m all for it

They’ll just have to share guns.

Bailey had a good game yesterday. Should have scored, but otherwise great game.
Not sure if serious...
I'm really trying to back Bailey to come good, but he was abysmal in the first half yesterday (albeit slightly improved in the second half).

He protects the ball better than both Buendia and Bailey and he offers us a bit of physicality in there as well. He shouldn't play central midfield for us again anytime soon, but I'd have him in the starting XI in either an advanced or wide position.

I don't mind a player trying things that don't come off if what they're trying is positive. The issue with Buendia is that it seems nothing comes off and he constantly makes poor decisions.
If he was sliding in our striker once a game with a through ball that fails the other 5 times he tries it then fair enough, but they never seem to work.
I like the chap but feel like we may need someone better for games where teams sit back.
When we signed him I honestly thought he'd strike up a great partnership with Watkins similar to how he did with Pukki at Norwich but it just ain't happening.
He's the weak link in the side. He's nowhere near the level we need to break into the top 10 on a consistent basis. Right now, he's the worst player in our starting XI without question.

Just a very sloppy footballer. Works hard, can be neat on the ball when he dribbles or turns out of trouble but you can't give the ball away as much as he does and as cheaply as he does.
At PL level it is a criminal offence to turn over possession in the way he does.
I'm not sure he likes being central , he gets crowded and makes bad decisions.
Doesn’t have the pace to play out wide though for me.

I’d like us to get to a position where we can play Bailey on the right side of midfield and Ramsey on the left. To do this, we need a new forward (Deulofeu?).
Our best team at the moment is:
Martinez
Young
Konsa
Mings
Digne
Kamara
Luiz
Ramsey
McGinn
Bailey
WatkinsCarlos will probably come in for Konsa at some stage so we might be ok at centre half, but I really think we need to be targeting two forward players and provide serious competition for those forward positions. You could make a case for at least 3 being up for grabs - Bailey, Watkins, McGinn.
I think we’ll target a couple of new fullbacks in the Summer.

Leon cares. Thats main thing. Cant ask more than that. People need to back him for that miss it will only help his game
Yep. Him and Watkins still start for me in our best team. Needs to be more consistent but he’s better than Buendia.

He was very good last night. Arguably better than Mings.
Seems like he’s been at the club for ages now. Really good player to have about the place.
Álex Moreno

I think that would be the plan if Digne wasn't on 160k a week. It's not like he's a young player happy to compete and learn.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Digne made available simply because Moreno might come in to start and we can use Young there (who is brilliant) with Cash moving over to right back.
I'd be very surprised if anybody came in for Digne considering the amount of money he's on. What a moronic signing he was (not a bad player, just the numbers/age profile)
