I’ve just heard there is an Angel Delight butterscotch flavoured ice cream in the stores
unless they can come up with a ham and cheese toast topper flavoured ice cream I think we’ve just reached peak food

Thanks for the update, Ian. Sounds like good news with the level coming down. I’m not on Twitter anymore, so have missed your updates, but I’ll say what I said back when you posted the news, let’s celebrate with a beer when you get the all clear.
He’s changed you know , might not be the old drat you remember , He was drinking from a Thatcher’s glass the other week

One woman said she didn't even realise it had sank until she got to New York, she thought they had just changed ships for logistical reasons, unbelievable tbh.
Must have been the woman behind me in the cinema

He should be flattered that Brentford doubled up on him today , but equally when teams do that the other players then need to step up and exploit the space this creates

Playing konsa at RB and not in the center next. To pay is costing us. 9 minutes of madness
Cash being injured probably didn’t give us a whole lot of choice ?

What is it about us and shit teams that can only foul and park the bus
coasting that and 4 months ago we’d have seen that out with a comfortable 2-0 , players seems to be too casual or lethargic… credit for getting back to 3-3 but that’s 2 points dropped , means I’m gonna have to cheer Liverpool tomorrow v United and I’m still not clean after cheering on Chelsea the other night

When did Sean Dyche become Brentford manager ?

I think this has happened for a lot of people since COVID. Most of my colleagues are much less willing to pretend that they care about their job or appear motivated. The majority want to just work from home doing as little as possible. Companies are going to have to try to find new ways to motivate employees and forcing them to come back into the office 3+ days a week won't work either. Now one caveat is that I'm 20 years in the same job, like most of the people I know. At that point I guess everyone loses their motivation.
I like my job , to the point that after about 4 days of Covid lock down I was already thinking “**** , is this what retirement will be like “
Plan is to retire at 55 but in all honesty i don’t see it happening
I do work for myself though which probably makes a big difference to how i feel about work compared to other people … my boss is still an idiot though

Do Starbucks (yeah, yeah, I know) still do that 'unlimited top-ups' thing?
Always used to beat me why anyone would pay for the big expensive mug, when they could just buy the small cheap one, and keep getting it refilled.
TBH I don’t know they did that .. I usually get a Frappuccino to go from them but rarely / never drink in

In the office/room at the back? I just think conducting a job interview in a public place is not fair. Maybe i'm overthinking it.
Perfect for this thread though as it shouldn't piss me off...
I’m with you on it , my pet hate is people that conduct business calls in public places , our gym has a no phones policy and yet some hotshots still take calls as they walk on the treadmill, or in quiet zones on the trains , just delegate and stop being a control freak so that the company won’t collapse if you are away for more than 30 mins

People conducting job interviews in coffee shops.
What if the job is “working in a coffee shop “ ?
edit - ffs I need to learn to read the very next post before making witty replies

If I needed a specialist subject for Mastermind I guess it would be The Beatles (hi @bickster )
I know more than the average Joe about Ancient Egypt but not enough to risk humiliation on TV by picking it though.
If I could go back in time and pick a new career I’d love to have done archeology and live and work on excavations in EgyptI’m similar to @mjmooney really though , a good generalist on quizzes, I could probably help him on a team with the very few gaps in his knowledge , unless the question was modern shit music in which case we’d both sit there looking at our feet

Do they do a special deal where if you wear a beanie hat and huge headphones you can sit there for 8 hours, nursing one coffee?
With exactly that in mind , there was a business proposal that one of the coffee shop chains were investigating a few years back whereby if you “drink in” the coffee would be free and you paid an hourly charge for the table
nothing seems to have come of it so I guess the one coffee for 8 hours plan is still the sound one

We’ve got a couple of frogs living in our pond , they are kinda tame now so I go out there and they will come over to me for a tickle … I quite often pick them up and take them for a walk around the garden ( ie scare Mrs H with them if she is out there )
toads on the other hand , big ugly bastards , I found one of them in the pond once , he got pinged over the fence into the neighbours garden

My first game was Wolves v Honved
could be a decent thread
mine was Arsenal v Villa with my Arsenal supporting Dad and brother ( family are from North London)
Villa won courtesy of a Malcolm Macdonald own goal , I supported villa to annoy my brother and the rest is history

I've heard a few people say this but I can't remember many recent Winters where I've had to defrost the car so much in the morning.
Worst for that in years I reckon.
don't you just set the car on a timer to do this #smug

I binged "Messiah" the other week
shame it got canned and no season 2 as I thought it was quite a decent series and left you with just enough is he or isn't he moments
fairly sure he is just a naughty boy and that the young Syrian kid would turn out to be the messiah [/spolier]

It's a much better movie than I previously gave it credit for.
That film is tainted for me as when I watched it in the cinema , at the end of the film the person behind me said to her friend " I wasn't expecting the ship to sink "

As a child, my first ever LP I purchased was Mistletoe and Wine, still have nightmares now
might have told this previously but ..
with the NCT group we did a curry and vinyl night , basically bring a record along that meant something to you and why ( not really my bag , but despite them being soppy Guardian reading lefties they are an ok bunch so we are friends and thus have random nights out )
Russ played Julia's song by OMD , the story of picking it was that he gone to a party pulled some girl , woke up the next morning in her room and there was a picture of her with Andy Mccluskey ( from OMD for those who are Philistines and don't know who he is) .. He said oh cool , how did you meet Mccluskey , she replied I was in a band with him ( ID , which was kinda slightly before they became OMD I believe) and wrote a song with him .. that song being Julia's song
my turn next , and I played Rat Rapping by Roland Rat Superstar , I'd found it in the loft and its basically it's the only vinyl record I'd still possessed

I've felt rough for about 10 days now , no cough it just started with mucus in the throat , actually coughed up phlegm that was so rubbery I reckon I could have sold it to Michelin
Throat then went like I'd been sharing a packet of iron filings with Sidcow on sat , then Sunday night my throat kept feeling like it was blocked , sleep was a bloody nightmare as I'd essentially wake up with sleep apnoea and a feeling that my throat was blocked with something
throat still blocked now not as bad as it was but still makes getting a decent sleep difficult and the mucus out my nose this morning seemed to be almost lime green in colour and very thick
Not done a covid test , but keeping away from people just in case I'm a bit contagious , seems to be a lot of ill people around at the moment , probably in a similar scenario to me where they probably have flu but it could be something else
When I caught Covid previously , I guess it was sometime between jab 1 and jab 2 , I didn't even know I had it , I sneezed about 3 times but a random test came back as positive ... so if this is Covid , it could show the difference between having up to date jabs and not having had any for numerous years .. or it could just be a different strain

Saw Chelsea 2-0 up , watched the apprentice , switched back and they were 3-2 down with 95 mins gone … and they only went and bloody well won it for us
we’d better win on Saturday after all that
