  1. Outplayed first half , better in the second and could have even had a 3-0 lead to take to France … but we might regret those tactical substitutions ,

man of the match to Austin MacPhee closely followed by Emi

Emery earns his money next week

  2. If I had a hotel reserved in Athens I’d be cancelling it about now , Lille should be out of sight and would be if our club thought Ramsdale or Reya were better than Martinez

I think he has to gamble with Hayden and get Konsa back in the middle

my place lined up a night out next week, meal and drinks on the company credit card, there's 60 of us going, seeing as she's German they let the receptionist book a restaurant, she's only gone and booked a steak house that starts at €50 a steak, glamourous place where you have to dress up, would end up somewhere between €100 and €200 per person, bosses caught wind of it and cancelled the lot

clearing in the woods, people just want to go get pissed somewhere not put glam rags on and tart about, book a pizza place or something sensible, even better a beer hall with wooden benches and tables

    I've got a hotel booked

yep , that would be me out , I dress up for weddings and funerals only not to eat food , wooden benches and a pizza all day long

@tonyh29 might know the answer to this

why have they not done apple coke yet?

ha funny you mention this .. I did a quote yesterday on some new flavours for Pepsi Max  (sadly I'm not at liberty to reveal those flavours , its not James Bond stuff but I have to be careful disclosing potentially sensitive stuff ... someone (not me :) ) leaked info once and a competitor beat my client to launch )

but I said to the client in our discussions,  I've mixed Pepsi Max with Apple before and its the nuts and you should look into it

that said , I think Coke did launch an apple flavour  back in 2018 but only in Japan

you watch the documentaries that have been made

I watched one where  they suggested OJ's son had done it  .. the evidence was quite circumstantial ..but also quite compelling , history of rage , diary entries  , was in the restaurant the same day as Nicole and Goldman and I seem to recall it was actually his hat they fond at the scene not OJ's

its a one sided documentary , but it was interesting none the less

I couldn't recommend Ocado enough, but that's basically because I had pretty much free groceries several times the last time I lived In the UK.

on the subject of Ocado  ...

I'm running a project next week for Vegan burgers ( yeah I know , but just smile and take the money)

the order I placed for delivery today of 96 packets of vegan burgers has come up short , so they are substituting around half of it !!

Bit of a huge problem , as i can't use the substitute product  so I'm online trying to find some more of these particular products when I get a phone call from Ocado  .. basically saying Sorry we let you down , we've sourced some more to fulfil your order added them to your online shopping cart for delivery at 09:30 tomorrow all you need to do is logon and click the button if you still want them

    so ..take a bow Ocado

Do you have chips with a FEB

I wouldn't go out of my way to add it as for me chips are aren't really a  breakfast food  , but if its offered as part of the breakfast then I'll have them and if nobody is looking will turn into a Northerner and make a chip butty

Sounds waaaaaaay too upmarket for Bootle New Strand

And thats at pre-xmas, there's even more empty shops now. I've been in better shopping centres in Communist Poland

I recorded a show about him last night that I'll watch at some point , but isn't that where James Bulgar was abducted from ?

Bacon: 3 Rashers min - back bacon not streaky, not overcooked either

Sausages: 2 min (and none of this chipolata nonsense) - there should always been at least one more bacon rasher than sausages, undercooked anaemic sausages should be avoided

Eggs : 1 min, preferably 2 soft centred and not flipped so they are white on both sides. Scrambled only acceptable if not overcooked to the point of dryness

    Black Pudding: 2 slice min

Mushrooms: Preferable but they should be drained of juice before hitting the plate

    Beans: optional, no ramekins

Tomato: optional and not tinned, fresh tomato grilled, 1 and only 1 i.e. two halves

Bread: 2 slices of thick shitey whitey (BUTTERED no marg) or replace 1 with fried bread. Good quality proper bread (white) is also acceptable but not essential

Potato products: this is an F.E.B. not a wacky gastro fusion dish

Items listed in order of importance

at least you had the decency to make tomato and mushrooms optional  , I'll allow the black pudding as although I wont eat it , it wont' leak and tarnish anything else on the plate so I can just work around it , or give it to one of my heathen mates who eat Northerner peasant  food

few of the cafe's in London when I order a breakfast  and ask them to remove the beans and tomato will offer me an extra egg or sausages instead  , it would upset your ratio of bacon to sausages but its always a nice Brucie bonus when they do it

It is said 'you can't be offside from a corner'.

Picture this scenario - the ball is placed on the very edge of the corner arc, a yard back from the goal line. The corner is 'taken short', passed forward to a player stood on the goal line in an offside position (the player has received a forward pass with fewer than two opposition players closer to the goal line).

Would that be called offside or does 'you can't be offside from a corner' override the technicality of this offside?

i think the law states  ,  There is no offside offence if a player receives the ball directly from:

    a goal kick , throw-in or a corner kick

so presumably the position is irrelevant

  11. Back from seeing The Libertines tonight in Kingston

I’ll be honest and say they are a band that have passed me by previously and I’d  put them up there with bands like The Ramones and The fall for being famous for no logical reason

but , actually I thought they were pretty decent , sounded loud and pretty tight , vocals were a bit muffled but that could be the venue tbh … I’d definitely go and see them again

  12. ours responds to Echo rather than Alexa (i read the manual and changed it )  , if we refer to my sons pet gecko , then the device will chirp in with "I'm sorry I didn't quite catch that"  but on the whole it behaves itself

But i use it to play music and that's about it , I'm not sure I'd ever use it for anything else   ??

  13. lets hope he has the same issues that managers did following Fergie and Wenger and we can rule Liverpool out of our title chase next season

Butterscotch Angel delight day was the best day ever as a kid. Especially when mum had enough money to slice some banana on top. I’m off to buy some now and see if it’s still as good.

The other flavour ice cream they launched is angel delight banana , you might have a tough choice ahead of you 😀

  15. I’ve just heard there is an Angel Delight butterscotch flavoured ice cream in the stores

unless they can come up with a ham and cheese toast topper flavoured ice cream I think we’ve just reached peak food

Thanks for the update, Ian. Sounds like good news with the level coming down. I’m not on Twitter anymore, so have missed your updates, but I’ll say what I said back when you posted the news, let’s celebrate with a beer when you get the all clear. 🍻

He’s changed you know , might not be the old drat you remember , He was drinking from a Thatcher’s glass  the other week  😀

One woman said she didn't even realise it had sank until she got to New York, she thought they had just changed ships for logistical reasons, unbelievable tbh.

  18. He should be flattered that Brentford  doubled up on him today , but equally when teams do that the other players then need to step up and exploit the space this creates

  19. What is it about us and shit teams that can only foul and park the bus

coasting that and 4 months ago we’d have seen that out with a comfortable 2-0 , players seems to be too casual or lethargic… credit for getting back to 3-3 but that’s 2 points dropped , means I’m gonna have to cheer Liverpool tomorrow v United and I’m still not clean after cheering on Chelsea the other night

I think this has happened for a lot of people since COVID. Most of my colleagues are much less willing to pretend that they care about their job or appear motivated. The majority want to just work from home doing as little as possible. Companies are going to have to try to find new ways to motivate employees and forcing them to come back into the office 3+ days a week won't work either. Now one caveat is that I'm 20 years in the same job, like most of the people I know. At that point I guess everyone loses their motivation.

I like  my job , to the point that after about  4 days of Covid lock down I was already thinking “**** , is this what retirement will be like “

Plan is to retire at 55 but in all honesty i don’t see it happening

I do work for myself though which probably makes a big difference to how i feel about work compared to other people … my boss is still an idiot though 😀

Do Starbucks (yeah, yeah, I know) still do that 'unlimited top-ups' thing?

Always used to beat me why anyone would pay for the big expensive mug, when they could just buy the small cheap one, and keep getting it refilled.

TBH I don’t know they did that .. I usually get a Frappuccino to go from them but rarely / never drink in

In the office/room at the back? I just think conducting a job interview in a public place is not fair. Maybe i'm overthinking it.

Perfect for this thread though as it shouldn't piss me off...

I’m with you on it , my pet hate is people that conduct business calls in public places , our gym has a no phones policy and yet some hotshots  still take calls as they walk on  the treadmill, or in quiet zones on the trains , just delegate and stop being a control freak so that the company won’t collapse if you are away for more than 30 mins
