    Referendum

if they lost it I'd be fairly confident it would cause a vote of no confidence in the house and most likely a leadership battle ..so there is quite a bit at stake on this I've posted my views on Europe and the EU before .. I'm against it as you well know and I've given countless arguments to support why the UK is better out of it , just as some have given arguements on why we are better of in it .. such is life when it comes to politics .. I'm not agaisnt controlled immigration , I have a lot of admiration for the work ethic of people coming to the UK , they certainly shame some of the British in that regard .. I don't know what the official Tory party line is on Europe / the EU I'm not really that big a follower of political parties and unlike some :-) I form opinions outside the party line ... I vote Tory becuase better dead than red as they say and voting Lib Dem would just be a waste of ink on a waste of paper .. we could reduce our carbon foot print if we din't waste ink putting a box for the lib dems on our ballot papers .. just think about that :-)

    Referendum

post not posters ... or are you saying that your blind love for everything labour is based on well formed opinion and yet i'm not allowed to have well formed opinions of my own ? Blair's promise was to hold a vote on an EU constitution .. this new draft AMENDS , rather than replaces, existing EU treaties . The removal of the preamble and references to the EU flag and anthem, as well as the relegation of the charter of fundamental rights to an annexe, are cosmetic changes... they haven't stopped other European heads of government saying that the treaty is a constitution in all but name.. a Scotsman in an England shirt is still a Scotsman at the end of the day Brown knows he would loose a referendem ..he is hoping that outside events will save him as the French and the Dutch did Blair, Brown, it seems, will have to clutch at straws—and pray that he grasps the right one.

    Referendum

those counts being ..... one thing to dismiss another posters post.... is it not more constructive to post some reasoned arguement to back up your counter claims ?

    Referendum

I see your debating skills haven't got any better Drat :-) So If Brown is so popular why doesn't he hold an election ..one answer ..fear , he knows he is going to lose ......

    Referendum

Brown is the Steve McClaren of PM's in that no one wants him and as such he is running scared for his job .... once he gets enough notice that public opinion is against him he will change his mind and hold the referendum , but try and spin it so that it was always his intention to hold one and that he agrees with the great British people etc ect spin spin etc in the words of James Goldsmith ... OUT OUT OUT OUT OUT

doesn't your TV has countless other channels and even an OFF button ? I'm with the others though , it's about the funniest show on TV (apart from South Park) , who cares if it's scripted driving the small car around the BBC was great and how did Clarkson get away witht the BBC meeting with a midget , an asian , a coloured man , a man in a wheelchair and a tree hugging lesbian liberal .. "sadly the meeting went on for so long the BBC didn't have any time to mkae any TV programs "
  8. I've never met someone so consitantly weak in putting their case across .. you presented a fact , it was shown for the dross that it was , come back with a stronger case , don't resort to weak daily mail retorts .. I don't read the daily mail anymore than you read head in the sand today You stated 60% of people gave false names to the police as your argument ..and i put the figure on that amount for you ... uninsured drivers etc is a totally different arguement , but one that you didn't state in your case and now you quote the same source as me in one of your later posts ,now doesn't that make your daily mail jibe look silly
  9. so of all the reasons you could give , you go for something which is estimated to cost £1.73m a year in police time ... the estimated annual cost of identy theft and fraud in the UK is £1.72 BILLION and you give an arguement for £1.73 m of it !! come on i've given you some help with the 1.72 billion , convince us , Why should we carry an ID card ..
  10. as usual Ian your wider of the mark than a Savo attempt at goal I was showing the lesson that History has taught us , or in your case the lesson that history clearly hasn't taught us .. I never even came close to inferring the Uk would become a communist state Like your arguements for Brown , Blair ,Prescott et al ..you've yet to actuall give a positive for their existance ..so we await your reasoned arguements on why ID cards will make the world a safer place
  11. If you ever visit Budapest , take some time out and visit the House of terror , see the number of Hungarian people Murdered and unjustly enprisoned ,simply for not submitting to the Communist dictatorship which ruled over them .. could similar happen in the UK ? .. probably not , but take a look at the laws passed by our government in the past years and tell me that labour hasn't moved Britain to a dangerous area ..Civil liberties , We don't even get to vote on a European treaty depsite it being a written promise by the government
  12. Reese's peanut butter is pretty good but my vote goes for Starbar ..only it doesn't as it isn't on the list :-) PS anyone had the cappuccino flavour Kit Kats yet ?
  13. If someone from the government can explain to me how having an ID card will prevent terrorism in this country (which is their remit for introducing them ),taking into account the last few attacks were carried out by British Citizens , then I may be prepared to listen to them however as they can't , they can shove them where the sun don't shine
  14. I went for Go now .. Wright Phillips was a weak link today and should have been removed from the pitch 30 mins before he was ..players get games like that , so not blaming Wright Phillips , but if on the hour mark he had gone 4-5-1 or something we may have been looking at a different result ..I thought Robinson was to blame on the second goal , it looked a simple enough save to make ..Robinson is a keeper in crises and his mistakes have helped cost qualification McClaren is inept at this level and "discovering Barry " hardly means he deserves the stay of execution ..qualifying was lost by the draw in israel and at home to Macedonia ..not to mention the farce in Croatia ..and the countless other poor displays his teams have produced go now , then aim on getting a team like this ready for the next world cup qualifyers Carson Richards Terry Ferdinand Cole Lennon Barry Gerrard Young Rooney Lita
  15. nah , that's exactly what I was talking about Lancs ..like you say it's getting the shot that captures where you were and making it interesting but without making it look like a picture round from university challenge
  16. What is it with people and arty shots on here :-) The D70 is a good camera and like the shots I get with my EOS , you kind of feel that it's hard to actually take a bad photo , such is the quality of these cameras .... Then it comes down to trying to get something different I guess .. I like my shots to show content but then sometimes they can just look a bit bland .. My B-17 shot earlier in this thread , i really like , but it sort of lacks some Wow factor , maybe because i got so close and it needs some cloud to break it up or give the effect of movement a building is just a building at the end of the day ..so what you and Bick's have done in your shots does give it a nice slant and make it interesting .. It started as bit of a joke , but I take my sons stuffed toy with me on my travels and try and get a photo of it in front of a landmark ...just gives the whole thing a bit more interest ...you'll see what i mean here ... manky rabbit
  17. must admit I'm the same , but having seen your reply , i now know that these photo's weren't the only ones .. must confess when i take some of my snaps i take a long view and a close up and more detailed shot ..it's usually the long shot that I delete ..all about personal preference i guess but nothing wrong with either shot , I like the top one more of the two
  18. Well as a bit of a chocoholic, i found this little gem interesting The average chocolate bar has 8 insect legs in it.
  19. MON has the safest job in football for the next 4 years at least well that's how i see it .... Mourinho will end up at Real or Barcelona next I would imagine ....
  20. the lancaster colour was ok but the hurricane and spitfire just appeared black , as did a lot of the airborn shots i took.. i brought the colours out a wee bit in photoshop , but i think it makes the lancaster look a bit too bright ..the B17 i had to touch up a bit as well to give it some colour ..the acrobatic shots are untouched .... I noticed a lot of people had a sort of extended cover around their lense , does that help prevent glare ?
  21. some i took today at Shoreham Airshow I'm quite pleased with some of them , but can't help but think the air shots need something to give that impression of speed the sun shining brightly today seemed to hinder getting some good photo's ... guess I need something for my lense to get around this ? Anyway ..here they are scaled down (they look a lot better on the originals), any tips gratefully received
  22. Thanks for the info ..ordered the Sigma lense It won't win any awards but i love this photo ,my son Harvey ,modelling his latest Villa kit , pity about the shadow behind him but I'll get there one day
  23. i use a Canon EOS300d as it's taken one hell of a battering over the years It's a good camera at a reasonable price in that if it's stolen or damaged I'm not going to cry as much than if i were to loose a couple of grands worth of camera ...anyway on my travels I usually take shots of landmarks , famous buildings etc ..usually I can get by with my 18-55mm lense but I was wondering about also getting a wide angle lense so I can get a bit more in without having to walk back and risk people walking in front of the shot see examples below also would a wide angle lense do panoramic views ....would i get a lot more into a shot like this ,for example ? I was thinking of the Canon EF 35mm f/2 ..again price is quite reasonable and it will get battered about so I don't want to spend thousands on it thanks
  24. another man of taste currently listening to Animation -The Skids shame the recent gigs they did were a one off , from the clips I've seen on youtube , the gigs looked pretty good
