  1. Even their songs about our rejects are about their time here? lol
  2. He would absolutely step up. There have been times this season he has looked like the only one putting a shift in. He is now actually getting involved in some tackles. His confidence is the highest it has been in years.
  3. I thought I had read somewhere that he is not costing the Toon a penny until he is fit to play which would mean we have covered his wages through the injury period?? He is on a pay-as-you play deal up there. I also think that is shared between us and Newcastle, with Villa paying the largest part of his wages..
  4. So he scored again for us? Another important crucial goal to our season and he only came in January. That isn't bad for a player who would never make it for the top 4.
  5. Why was the guy injured for so long? He seemed to be out for months, yet still passed a medical at Newcastle nearly 3 months ago. Who signs a player on loan in those circumstances? I don't think he could be arsed with football any more. He's made his money, and will always be bitter at the success of City.
  6. Aye, Warnock is a hateful little creep.
  7. He needs to learn to keep his mouth shut, but he never will. He always comes out with this stuff.
  8. He also had Robinho alongside him.
  9. Then perhaps he should have resigned at the point he knew that he was going to resign rather than 5 days before the season started. Maximum damage and all that. I don't get this maxium damage stuff. I'm more to thinking he left because he was told no when he asked for the money to buy Aiden Mcgeady....Mcgeady was going over to Russia the same week MON left for a medical...MON knew it would be his only chance to put an offer in for Mcgeady and I believe he asked Paul to put an offer in for him and was told no....Not a short sharp no, but a no nonetheless....So he left. That's what I've been telling myself all along and I've not seen anyone as of yet post anything that has changed my mind in any way. I actually agree with you. However, managers and their chairmen meet in pre-season. MON would have knew fine rightly that he had to cut the wage bill before going after other players. He very well could have asked for McGeady and promised to cut the wage bill straight after, but Lerner said do that first..
  10. Then perhaps he should have resigned at the point he knew that he was going to resign rather than 5 days before the season started. Maximum damage and all that.
  11. Why would MON meet a player 3-4 days before he resigned? Surely he knew by then what he was going to do?
  12. Serious question and not looking to pick a fight, but what has he done to make you hate him so much? His quotes about birmingham, his general attitude, the soap opera about his grandmas was a joke, slating Ireland (his home country.) But what grinds me the most is that he is a talented player but without an ounce of efforrt. Part from that i think hes mint Ok, let's look at them one by one. 1. Birmingham quotes. They were in a French football magazine and he insists he was misquoted. Not misinterpreted, misquoted. 2. General attitude. This covers a multitude, and I've tried many times to talk about this but people have their own ideas about him and I can only try so much to reason on this point. 3. The grandmas soap opera and the Rep of Ireland debacle. Yes, it was stupid. Very very stupid. However, has no bearing on his Villa career as far as I'm concerned. 4. Lack of effort. I think this is the most unfair criticism levelled at him since he arrived here but people have a preconceived idea about him. How exactly can he be misquoted saying Birmingham was a shit hole or a crap city to live in? Who gives interviews to foreign magazines, without checking their version of what he said? Then we have the exact same quotes he said to Newcastle after he moved here in the summer, about how he was finally settled, felt part of a family and wanted etc.
  13. We were vaguely linked to Ireland few times before Man City wanted Milner - if rmber correctly. Anyhow Milner has been big miss this season. What we do with Ireland now i really dnno. Because he has been on the bench and playing on the wing.
  14. It is a shame really as the lad has talent. He just seems to be a basket-case.
  15. Yes, he is on pay as you play.
  16. The fact of the matter is it was deadline day in January. They either had to spend massively and allow themselves to be ripped off, and write the season off, or open the cheque book and give it a shot.
  17. "Why can't he further his career at NUFC? We have bigger attendances than those two. We are a bigger club" Bwahaha
  18. Doesnt really make sense to give him the managers job then does it ? Yip, you cant be trusted with money, heres the managers job and £50m to spend. You obviously don't know the situation at Newcastle very well, do you? When has the owner handed out £50m to any manager up there and said work away at that? When has Ashley not interfered with everything that goes on at the club? Also, wasn't the sale of Carroll after Pardew came in as well? And when did that ever rise to £50m? Where is that figure from? And it does make sense, if you read the rumours at the time. He comes in as a manager and works for a lot less money than he would normally get to pay off said debt. So, yes, it does make sense. Doesn't it?
  19. There was a story going about that Pardew was in debt to their owner over gambling at casinos etc.. It does seem like a very, very weird sacking and appointment. There is definitely more to it.
  20. Well Houllier is, so anything is possible i guess No. Houllier has won trophies. Alan Pardew has been an absolute disaster wherever he has went to.
  21. I can't believe Alan Pardew is managing in the top flight. .
