  1. When Wyness was CEO Everton's average league position was 6th.. Not too bad ey? Commoli may be declared a failure by fans at Liverpool who expect far too much but would you say no to many of the players he signed? In our position right now? RDM a Champions League winning manager that hasn't done too badly at any club he's managed, yes he's not amazing but we're hardly ones to be picky right now. I could think of a lot worse than a combination of those three.
  2. Just go with it... IT'S HAPPENING!!!!
  3. It's him he's verified by Twitter hence the blue tick next to his name.
  4. As much as I find Hodgson dubious in his claims most of the time there is a pretty big difference between chatting shit on Twitter and basically confirming it all on national radio listened to by millions of people.
  5. See I was not aware of that. I looked into them as a basic business and their credentials checked out. This makes it all the more interesting. Wasn't one of the speculations in the Mirror that the consortium or firm interested were government backed? We may have to revisit those original news articles as it seems there may have been more to them.
  6. Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) placed 834th in Forbes Top 2000 list with a market cap last May of $29 billion. They would be a pretty big deal if they were pulling the financial strings at Aston Villa. My only concern is while they don't own Shanghai Dongya they did pay big money to have the clubs name changed to Shanghai International Port Group Football Club.. So while this may be great news, it may also wind up rather bad for the club identity wise. PS. This does tie in with the rumour that Hollis had flown out to Shanghai last week. I know it was debunked by those thinking we were in talks with a Hong Kong based firm, but if it was these guys all along then that finally adds credence to that rumour/link.
  7. He's apparently heading up the Chinese consortium or something.
  8. I see your point and maybe you are right considering RDM is useless, but again it's all rumour and speculation on who the new owners want. Saying that would anyone be happy with who we appoint? I mean we're hardly going to get Pellegrini as a Championship side even if our new owners turned out to be absurdly rich. The options seem to be Pearson or Di Matteo.. We lose either way.
  9. I think if he didn't care we would have been sold already. If the owner doesn't care about the clubs future wellbeing he would grant exclusivity to the first chump with enough to buy the club, that doesn't appear to be happening. Now if there are buyers and everything we have been told is true it seems Hollis and perhaps Lerner are investigating the buyers as much as they are investigating us. Granted that doesn't guarantee a good owner but the fact this is taking so long dictates to me that Lerner does care about who takes us over. Personally I think this is happening, but I also believe that this will just happen. One moment we'll be speculating and then out of nowhere an official statement by the old guard followed by an official statement by our new owners. It may seem like its dragging and maybe it is I don't know how long takeovers take, but I think the next thing we hear will be confirmation of a sale.
  10. Largely why I refuse to play it, I own it and I played like 60 minutes but that was more than enough. I enjoy the Uncharted stories but the gameplay is so one note it's unbearable four games in. I loved this series in Uncharted 1 and 2 but they lost me with the 3rd entry when nothing had changed. I understand that mantra of don't fix what isn't broken, but the gameplay is that basic it needs tweaks and innovation each and every time and a rope to swing with this time is not enough. The game may deserve its review scores for technical ability, visuals, sound and story but the gameplay hasn't evolved enough for me to give a shit.
  11. To be fair they are a coup. They are signing with lots of teams because their market value is now higher than Adidas, they are the hot property and Under Armour are doubling down in the aims of hopefully getting closer to Nike. So sure maybe we signed with Under Armour when they are vastly more mainstream, but that may also mean they are offering more money as they now have more money.
  12. Could be worse.. Those you say won't see us play in the top flight again cause they are old also got to see most of our glory years. There are some fans in their mid-20's that weren't old enough to experience us winning the League Cup twice, were barely old enough to appreciate how special the Europa League was. Many fans who existed between 1995 and present have only seen average from this club. At least those that are at the end of their life cycle got to see several League wins and a Champions League win. If you're almost 30 great you got to see two League Cup wins in your existence, but if you are under 23 you ain't experienced anything of worth, those are the guys I feel for to be honest.
  13. The issue is staying up. The longer we stay down the more the teams in the Premier League get ahead of us. I mean 20th place next season gets £99 million which is pretty much what the winner of the League would have gotten a year or two ago, you only have to be in the league a few seasons to be spending Top 4 level money as a shit tier team. So the longer we spend out of the league the harder it will be to topple whoever is the 17th best team not without some very very crafty ways around FFP. So yeah the long term plan may include contingencies in case we don't come right back up, but the plan will be promotion next-season.
  14. I think the fans there are just trying to enjoy our final game in the league, our boos would likely just bring down the party atmosphere.
  15. Champions league quality cross there Bacuna.. Real Madrid will be super impressed with that one mate..
  16. This is literally a training match for Arsenal.
  17. Yay!!!! This is gonna be baaaaaaaaaad..
  18. It's basically Doom 1 just a lot faster more akin to the Brutal Doom mod and has no story just like Doom 1. The game does just enough exposition to make you understand why you are there, but that is where it ends. Very good game.
  19. That is my main criticism. I actually had to turn the difficulty down to Hurt Me Plenty just so I didn't have to rely on the glory kills. If they didn't give you health and ammo I wouldn't have burned myself out on them as they are seriously needed on Ultra-Violence. Aside from that the game is top notch and I will likely give Ultra Nightmare or whatever it is called a go when I have completed it, see how far I can get before dying and getting my save deleted.
  20. A Carmack lead Doom brought the world Doom 3 which wasn't terrible but it also wasn't blowing any minds either. Many of these guys working on this one may be paying homage as none of them worked on Doom 1 or 2 hell many of them may have been children when Doom 1 came out, but they put out a very good game with Doom (2016) and I don't think they would have done better with Carmack and Romero. I mean Romero made one of the worst FPS games in history when he left, a little game called Daikatana and Carmack post-Doom 2 made Doom 3 and RAGE which were both average. The new breed at iD Software have done good.
  21. Game is amazing. The multiplayer is still trash but DOOM (2016) is one of the best FPS games I have played in years. The game is the essence of FPS without the contrived storytelling and having to have doors opened by other marine bro's (looking at you Call of Duty), this is what Doom 1 would be if it launched today. It is full of gore and balls to the wall extreme fast paced gameplay with an emphasis on exploration, secrets and fun. This game rights all of the wrongs that Doom 3 made and while that game was a good experiment, this is sequel/prequel/reboot (whatever the **** it is) that Doom 1 and 2 deserved.
  22. I'm fine with it because it's the only way you can truly compete. Yes Leicester kinda prove me wrong as they won the league with a team worth £20 million, but they are once in a generation thing. I mean the last time we were "celebrating" someone out of the Big 4 winning the league it was Blackburn in the 90's. So yeah if having to rename the stadium the Rui Kang Arena to get a free £300 million that FFP don't give a shit about then so be it. To me it will always be Villa Park but we need money and selling stadium rights is a good way to make some insane funds in this day and age.
  23. There is a difference between us and Sochaux. Sochaux to but it bluntly are a shit tier team in a shit tier league bought out by a company looking to expand their market reach in France. Ledus clearly didn't do their research as any company that did would have bought a Ligue 1 team that hovers around mid-table or hell just buy an English team. Aston Villa are huge even in the Championship we are worth more to advertisers and companies around the world than most teams in the world. Sure we may be bought by a company that leaves us to die in 3 seasons from now, but the likely hood is so slim. We are in a completely different scenario to Sochaux, but feel free if our new overlords give up and liquidate us to say "I told you so".

    Shenmue

Shenmue was a product of its era and I will always adore it because of that. Yes this game won't be liked by many that didn't play it in its glory days, but you have to remember that this was "open-world sandbox" when many games couldn't even do 3D properly as Dreamcast was the ass-end of PS1. So being able to befriend a cat and then every morning bring it milk or food, or to to buy capsule toys or to win a video game through buying a special can of pop that you could then play on the in-game Sega Saturn in Ryu's house. Yes it's all primitive now when we're looking at games like GTA V and Mafia 3 with worlds so huge and so interactive they make Shenmue look like it was never a technological feat, but I am glad that when it does get released as a re-master I'll be enjoying it like I was a teenager again.
  25. I think it looks alright but there isn't much a manufacturer can do with Spurs colours. I mean 90% of their kits through history have been plain white and when they do go craaazy they get a blue or black stripe. You only have to look at the mock ups in this thread to see that Under Armour have infinite possibilities for designs not even factoring in our away kit can be anything from neon green to black, some clubs are just destined to have average kits cause their club colours are so basic and that is Spurs to a tee.
