  1. This article seems to suggest we are holding further talks today and it's a matter of whether he can get his staff together at short notice to come with him. "If Garde decides to accept the Aston Villa challenge, which will surely depend on how much of his coaching staff he can pull together at such short notice, then he will have a rich array of French/Ligue 1 talent at his disposal. Garde is very much considered by Arsène Wenger as a possible replacement for him at Arsenal, but Remi Garde must prove his credentials in the Premier League first."
  2. Yeah Liverpool got a right duffer in Klopp ay.
  3. Me neither, was thinking that last night, must have been one of Wengers first signings though right? If he was there from 96-99, I can't place him in the shirt though I even went down highbury a few times late 90s. Although the 90s are somewhat hazy memories.
  4. Hopefully this is a joke, because the idea that the people at the top of the club should make decisions based on something like this is absolutely ridiculous. Apparently we were close to signing Paul Pogba this summer but then Randy heard about our history with French people and cancelled the deal. Ahaha. yeah heard similar with Ribery and Benzema, Once Randy found out they were French it was all over.
  5. In superb VT style you've written off our new manager before he's had his picture taken. Just stating a FACT that for some reason Villa and French players/managers have a record of turning out to be a bit of a disaster Hold on their mr Brent, Ginola was alright till JG called him fat wasn't he? Obviously wanst a world beater still but he was alright. Houllier had health problems to go with the Anfield problem but judging him by how we've been afterwards, wasn't that bad either. Sissoko had a few good games.... What makes you think Garde won't work based SOLELY on his frenchines?
  6. Jesus, who do you want then? Woodytom for gaffer. Think.we missed out on Big Sam big time tbh. He'd have guaranteed safety imo. If we were going for a risk maybe Karanka. Is a cheeky punt for MON out of the question? MON?!?!?!?!
  7. to be fair sherwood has never won a cup or managed a side for a full season let alone for 3 years with a title chase and top 4 finishes. in terms of experience sherwood isnt even close. by what ive read garde is heavy on ego though.
  8. Is that a euphemism for anal with Katie Price? Whoa there big boy!!! That's what she said. Also, there is a Jordan connection as we have several in the squad. It's one way to motivate a modern professional I suppose.
  9. Remi Garde must be getting backed a lot down to 2/5.
  10. He'd have to be spending at least Bent money in Jan you would think in order to protect his investment. Although he hasn't shown himself to be particularly shrewd so far. we need to find out what Houllier said to him to convince him it was necessary then. Or hope a new manager can convince him that he needs some more players in Jan
  11. Yes. He has always been very positve BEFORE games, he's always bigging himself and the club up before a game. Then feeling "the worst ever" afterwards and shifting blame (even though as in this presser he takes full responsibility before the game. The big problem is his seeming inability to transfer this into a good team performance which gets us some points. I would suggest his inability to do this is linked to the fact he handles defeats badly with the group, and so they aren't exactly properly coached and motivated. Then rinse and repeat, we are awesome, we will win, I am great, teh players are great, big club, BEFORE the game. Defeat. I feel so bad, the players need to do better, we were shit... Pretty sure that's not how it works is it?
  12. €3m a season would certainly make me see signs from God. dollar signs.
  13. Yorke was just a kid and everyone was trying to work out his best position, including him, midfield, winger, up front, support striker, he must have played all of them by the time Little came in to the job.
  14. There was only one change for the Albion game though right? Hutton for Bacuna?. I reckon it's more that whatever he was saying after that game didn't go down well. Against Albion it looked like they all had something better to be doing of a Saturday afternoon. Just nothing doing, the total opposite of the first hour or so against Leicester. The level of that first half especially, away from home, not dominating by any means but controlling a good side in form with some decent possession and crucially movement and understanding, was the best this side has played surely this season. To go from that to the Albion display I think means he got the reaction to that defeat wrong, possibly went way over the top having a go at the players or at least whatever it was he did had the opposite of the desired effect. The personnel was the same apart for the introduction of Hutton, but they played like a bunch of strangers who didn't want to be there. Surely that transformation happens during the week at Bodymoor?
  15. Playing as we have been since Leicester (albeit a bright first half before against Chelsea, inbetwixt suicide attempts) Swansea will only have to keep a clean sheet to win. We seem nailed on to just give goals away. Actually wrap them up and give the opposition a little kiss when handing them over on a silver platter.
  16. your not going to sign a footballer on what he did 5-6 years ago and for me have to do same for a manager why, he lost management yard? legs have gone?
  17. I don't think he had enough time. I think eventually he would have succeeded if given another six months. Yeah and 200 million like LVG. exactly. had moyes been given time to spend 200m on that squad I think he might have faired better. enormous balls to take it on in the first place.
  18. Amazing insight. I suppose oranges are not apples? With regard to moyes if he was such a failure at man u why did the great lvg have to spend a metric fudge ton on players?
  19. Ahahah, Organising the 4 up top to get the third. Genius.
  20. This is precisely the kind of over-emoting that gets tiresome. I mean, 'not just a disaster for the club for football in general?' What? Ha, yeah if Football in General gave a flying **** about AVFC we'd win a few games every now and again surely.
  21. None of the above would touch us with a barge pole. Bielsa and Hiddink are not getting any younger either. If the rumours are true that Moyes would be interested then that might steady the ship, Rodgers if he'd come would be a good appointment. We should have a chat with Montella too IMO. Just to see which side his spaghetti is buttered.
  22. @markavfc good post. whilst he has always talked a good game, he has also made some very weird decisions in his time here. he has also failed to react in games. We would all love someone to come in and grow a young team here and succeed. I just have a really hard time believing that someone is Sherwood, would love to be wrong but he needs things to click spectactularly and quick.
  23. It'll get worse after we get hammered tomorrow. I can't see him pulling it round, he clearly has balls going by his presser but we've been waiting for some of that sort of spirit to come out on the pitch and they've gone the other way, playing cautious neutered football and then just evaporated. I'd love him to do it, as omariqy said above, but again I just cannot see it happening. 4 points is really very scary indeed, if we get to 4 points from 12 games played you'd think we had one foot in the Championship already and his position must be untenable there surely?
  24. Yeah I read that last night, that's why I said that the board and the manager have both been briefing the press in different directions...
