I've already almost had enough of this fool. Completely ruins the chance of having a successful international career and is doing his very best to do the same to his club career. Tbh I cant take him seriously after those pictures of his house came out. Spoilt, selfish, self-indulgent prick.

I'm starting to lose hope of Ancelotti for no bigger reason than my own pessimism.

Getting McClaren in just to make Downing happy would be like shagging a 74 year old landlady just to get £10 a month off your rent. The reward doesnt match the sacrifice.

Bham Mail say that Ancelloti will be next Villa manager. Hughes quits Fulham - everyone thinks he's next Villa manager. Villa says they aren't after Hughes. Sky Italia say that Ancellotti will be next Villa manager. Villatalk has no idea, but speculate madly. that was a couple of sundays ago

If Ancelotti comes here then Ash and Downing will sign new contracts before the inks dried on Carlo's.

I agree with above. Hughes doesnt have a record any better than the Allardyce's and Curbishley's of this world. Totally uninspiring and a sad indictment of the potential future of the next few years of the club. Of course, only if the rumours are true.

60k???!!! Honestly, I am more and more happy each day that MON **** off. We must have been paying over a 1/4 million on lumps sitting on the bench. Randy hasnt put a foot wrong on big decisions in 5 years.

The thing is, apparently Ancelotti wants to stay in England and we're the biggest job going. I definitely think he will sit down with Randy at the very least.

If what he said is true then he's not my favourite person right now but the way people are belittling his season and play is laughable. He was our BEST player last season, churning out several fantastic performances. If he's suddenly rubbish then how bad are the rest of the squad? I'll hate him if he leaves like everyone else but I'm not going to deny he's an excellent player.

Going for Hughes shows stability rather than ambition. I'm very meh about it too. He will guide to a solid 7-8th but nothing more. But then 7th is really the most we can expect next season. Hughes will essentially guarantee top half though.

Not that fussed about Moyes. 1. Ancelotti - Sensational if we land him. 2. Jol - Would be very pleased if we got him. 3. Moyes - He wont leave Everton I dont think for us but he's the best available currently working in the Prem.

The decision to let Heskey leave? I'd expect anyone from the toilet cleaner upwards would have that authority/nous. Yeah my post sounded a bit harsh. He's a good guy, but just lacked any sort of confidence for prolonged periods after the Liverpool spell. He's done the same thing everywhere tbh. His goalscoring record though since Liverpool (and even in Liverpool the last couple of seasons) is indefensible.

Couldnt see another thread. Looks like he's off to Leicester then. Another one of MON's flops. But for about 5 games at the start of this season, nothing but a frustrating and ineffective let-down. There is no chance that Bent would leave. Forget 25-30m. It would take easily 35m+. We have already paid the lions share of the addons to its essentially 24m now. He's the hottest striker in the league and almost any club side in Europe would make use of him. As I said earlier, if we dont have a decent manager and a decent season, and he pumps 25 goals then he will be gone to a huge club next summer. However, god knows what he makes of two of our best players wanting to leave, a week into the summer...

Oh come on, we've tapped up as many players and managers as anyone else. You cant stop it, there's always a way. We just have to face it that players come here and use us as a stepping stone. Most dont arrive here thinking this. Ash for example was probably made up that we went for him. But sooner or later for any player who is talented and has his best years ahead, is going to want to play for one of the big four or now Man City. That's the way its been for us and for 15 years. Unless we consistently get Cl football, this will NEVER change. And there is no sign of that happening so we just have to get on with it. As for people being angry that players dont want to work for CL at their present club. Do me a favour. Twice the wage, world class players all around them and massive crowds instantly, or chase a carrot that doesnt get any closer. There is no choice here.

Exactly this. People saying "he doesnt deserve to wear the shirt". Do you really think he gives a toss what we think or feel? Wearing the Villa shirt doesnt mean a damn thing to anyone other than lads who were born in this area and play for the team like Gabby etc. Do people think Downing is sitting at home now reading this forum with a tear in his eye at our thoughts? He's sitting at home all right, but sipping £1000 bottles of Champagne listening to his agent waxing lyrical about what wages he could be getting.

It gets better and better doesnt it? This is getting eerily familiar now. We buy a player for big money. Put up with the first average season, enjoy the excellent second season only for the player to be "unsettled" and engineer a move before the polish is dry on the Premier League trophy. We're a glorified feeder club guys I'm afraid to say. It's no disgrace, no are Spurs, and so will Liverpool if they miss out on CL football for a couple more years. If Bent has a season next year like the back end of the last then we'll be having this same convo about him for 35m+ next summer.

I dont think he will go but if Ash and Downing leave this summer then I will be as disillusioned as I can ever remember with football and Villa. Even more so than after Milner left.
