On the top off this Lerner has been given a deadline by Ellison to put up or shut up.

Ellison is the one he wants to sell to but its fading away, the deal because of Lerner not willing to lower the price and also the payment how Ellison is willing to pay it. There are a few pretty massive things here He agreed to a contract that said a new owner couldn't sack him? Not a hope in hell that would even be considered. Jesus Christ. That'd be right up there with the greatest contract ever given to anyone. Any contract that was agreed in principle still isn't a contract until signed. This was not signed, ergo it doesn't matter what they agreed on. No contract = no contract How can someone simultaneously want a new contract and want new owners to put money into the club, and want to quit and not want the owner to sell?
