Its pure bullshit. No one knows what Randy is thinking. No one thought Houllier would be our manager but he was! Also if Moyes was interested you know the job is his... I reckon things are going to unfold over the week but we got to be patient!

they keep their managers for a long time because they are doing well, they dont do well just because they have been at the club for a long time. and anyway - chelsea change manager every 5 minutes and win a whole lot more than ar senal Ferguson didn't have a good time of it at first at Man United if I recall. Also Wenger has had some success at Arsenal and the club aren't that far away from more success with his current way of thinking. Chelsea cannot afford to sack and hire managers at will though. Just think if we had someone similar to what Moyes has been at Everton but with actual money we could kick on. Just my opinion though.

Part of me wants us to get a young manager in and let him develop something. I want some continuity. I want a manager to come in and love the club and wear his heart on the sleeve. Hughes would be good but unless he actually quit Fulham for us, he is a mercenary and I don't want him here. I'd rather someone like Martinez or someone. Look at Barca and Porto. Pep had very little experience, ok he had a amazing team but he has still worked hard to get the best out of them. Porto appointed Mourinho and look what it got them and now they have appointed Villa-Boas or whatever his name is and he is class too. Maybe we need to rethink our strategy. Man United and Arsenal have had the same manager for awhile and they ain't done too bad!

I genuinely believe that we haven't approached anyone YET! I think the Ancelotti reports were premature, I think these McClaren reports are premature. I think once Randy lands in the country, then we will know. Why would we approach a manager with our chairman out of the country? We haven't approached Ancelotti YET, but who is to say on Wednesday Randy won't request a meeting with him? Every manager has their price and could possibly be convinced. I genuinely believe we won't even interview McClaren and we will appoint someone of a good calibre. Just need to be patient, anything can happen and we need to trust Randy.

People are excited but I don't think we will be disappointed if he rejects us, I think we will be disappointed if we don't even approach him though.

A week or two ago Ancelotti was quoted as saying he wants to manage in England. Other then Chelsea the Villa job is the biggest in England at the moment. We never know what he is thinking. I reckon if Randy can get him in a room and convince him of the ambition we have a chance!

So many rumours flying about. Quite a few people have now said that Ancelotti is staying at some hotel near BMH. I wonder if he really is or will be staying there or everyone is getting over excited and all quoting the same source!

What number to have though? Ancelotti certainly looks better than "Bent" on the back of a shirt anyway. If he becomes our manager I'd seriously consider getting Ancelotti on the back of my shirt! Would have to be done! I tell you what, I'd seriously consider making the three hour trip up from Kent just to welcome him to Villa if we pulled it off. I used to go to uni in Kent, 3 hour trip is horrible, especially the traffic on the M25/M1 but for Carlo it would be worth it! It would have to be number 1, and if Wilkins comes in as our number 2 one of my mates would have to get Wilkins with the number 2 as well lol I'm going to Kent in September. How would you rate it? Anyway, on topic, if we did get Ancelotti how many people would we be talking about greeting him at VP? Which campus? I was at Canterbury. What course you thinking of studying? I would be tempted to go down to see him! Just to clarify, we're talking about the University of Kent and not Canterbury Christchurch right? Anyway, I'm doing politics and international relations at the Canterbury campus. Yeah I went to University of Kent Canterbury! Nice lil town but coming from Birmingham I didn't particularly like it as I missed city life! If you wanna know anything then let me know!

he is class, a good link between players and the manager and gets you playing to your ability. Hes a motivator and proven. ( we had Gmac) Chelsea players were GUTTED when RW went, they were not the same team. Assistant mangers are an important factor in any team. Also he speaks Italian so is a good go between for the players and Carlo Ancelotti!

I say Ancelotti to come in bringing Pirlo and Kaka. Funded through the sales of Young and Downing. Amazing.

Rafa is a weird one for me. I do not want him at the club but I think if he could tweak his methods and mentality he would be an amazing manager. Really do not want anyone scouse related at the club again though!

We've all read a fair bit in the papers about Ancelotti but I can't recall any of them saying if Wilkins is being considered too? The fact that we haven't heard anything from either of them is surely a good thing.... for now!

I agree with people that we should set our sights high and go for Ancelotti and Deschamps and co. The problem is if we ask them all and they all say no it has a negative effect. It undermines the person we do appoint as they will be like third choice or something. We need to go for one guy and one guy only and make sure we get him. Pick the right person. Also if we get rejected from a lot of people it will damage the image of the club and make us look like an unattractive prospect to others and will bring more negativity to the club. Just my view anyways.
