Swindon

Back from the game, and well, i dont quite know what to say about that...... First things first..... last minute winners away from home in the cup are bloody epic, and I dont care who it was against, but moments like that are what football addicts out of us. Absolutely fan-bloody-tastic, the away end went mental. More rationally, we look very at home at this level. Defensively we are just a joke. Comical really. First half we played OK, we contained the expected rush early on, put

Not Good Enough

Well, that wasn't very pretty, was it? I wrote on twitter that I felt uncomfortable about being outplayed (and we were very outplayed) by Norwich. Alan Hansen reportedly described our performance as embarrassing, and while i dont usually have much time for the miserable sweaty, on this occasion he was right. it was embarrassing. I dont do knee jerk reactions, and while I remain confident that we will come through this, I'm not *quite* as confident as I was before. For me, what has changed

Tic Tacs

Welcome to "Deadly Doug ate my hamster". I hope you enjoy .... feel free to interact :-) So, I was watching Chelsea on the old telly box at the weekend, and I think I've seen the future, or the present, or something, of where Lambert wants to take Villa - and I notice Aston Villa Review agrees with me, although I'll need to listen to the podcast to find out why .. I am listening as I type, so will let you know..... Chelsea are, albeit at a very different level, going through the same kin

    • 8 group stage matches. Probably the reason klopp decided to leave liverpool.
    • Matt Murray, just now, regarding small queef at Huddersfield; ”You’ll be able to cut the tension with a spoon”. What a cabbage. Mate.
    • Just read that. Basically teams in Europe will all just bin off the league cup. Not long before it's scrapped now.
    • I've crossed paths with quite a few top folks at design agencies including Interbrand (ones who did the Juve logo), Pentagram , WeLaunch. They are all pretty plugged in. When a design bombs most times it has to do with a very limiting brief or interference from the client's CEO or Marketing Director - who feel "they know better".
    • @Teale's 'tache yup  - that's the one thanks for reposting! That's a fantastic design, best concept I've seen, and I've been trawling the net! If only Mr Heck.... @Jas10 - no not my account, no twitter for me, as I said in my first post or second - some original designs, but many of my ideas were based on or tweaks of others, I'm not claiming they are all my own, some I've tweaked the geometry, or the colours, or like the one you posted, changed the shield shape and stuck with a winning formula (no star though!) I accidentally got very close when using the Heck shape to do the gold lions ones, then compared it to the colour palette I'd choose - so apologies to primetimeperry, I'm not meaning to take credit for your design - but there's only so many ways to do a Villa shield.
    • Get rid of the star or put it somewhere sensible and that crest is decent and would please most people.  How anyone ever thought the star should be in that place I'll never know.
    • The club have reported it as 42,789. It's still in the programme as that and was discussed as a side conversation at one of the FAB meetings as I wondered about it being 1 more than the previous highest. I think the media have a punt at it - we're so secretive with our attendances that they're forced to either leave them off their official reports or report what they can. Our own reporting is terrible - we had the Ajax attendance down as just over 30,000 for a couple of weeks after the game. That said, the Premier league website has it at 41,421 andI have a feeling that Mr Heck just wanted the highest 21st century attendance under his belt. I think to some extent the final figure has an element of choice for the club and I think most of our fluctuation is in hospitality seating. At that meeting, it was suggested that each chairman or CEO tends to have a figure in mind that they consider to be a full house and will report at that number. It's a pity it's become so muddy, the club has for as long as I can remember announced the attendance during the game, but we seem to be in a position where that's no longer acceptable.
    • The more I see of him, the more I love him. He lives for winning, and he clearly loves the club. I think we're very very lucky to have such a great manager and I hope he becomes a legend at VP over the next few years
    • To be fair that is one of the best I’ve seen of this new load of badges. The round one that we currently have is the best of them all though in my opinion.
