YLN
My father bought an xperia s this summer. He used it as his main camera and took photos at weddings and on holidays and that sort of thing. Pretty good camera. 5 weeks ago it stopped working. Wouldn't turn on properly. Faulty. Sent it away. Got it back today. Has been returned to factory settings. So all his photos are gone. I think he's most upset about losing all his text messages as well, as he liked to read through them again. Bit of a shitter isn't it? The phone does not have a memory card. 32GB of internal memory, which appears to have been wiped. Is this standard practice?
Tegis Posted January 15, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted January 15, 2013 They probably replaced the whole innards of the phone, that internal memory is probably soldered on there. Would be my guess anyway. Get him on Google+ and have the phone upload photos automatically when he takes a snap. Instant backup
limpid Posted January 15, 2013 Administrator Share Posted January 15, 2013 what Tegis said, plus an app which can backup/restore all text messages.
Genie
Its pretty standard for any repair to include a full system wipe. I had dropbox included with my HTC One X, has saved me once already when I deleted all my photo's by mistake!
