They actually just signed Shane Victorino for the same exact deal (3/$39). This is a good trend. I think they've finally learned their lesson doling out the 7 and 8 year deals. maqroll Posted December 5, 2012 Author Share Posted December 5, 2012 We dumped Crawford, Beckett and Gonzalez on L.A., and Dice-K's contract expired, so that's a shitload of money saved, but we still have the donkey that is John Lackey. It's hard to see any future for this team with the current ownership. Unfortunately Selig is too friendly with our guys up top so he'll never force a sale despite it being quite clearly the team is likely to be **** down the line if it doesn't happen. There's no guarantee that he'll replicate his form from last season. They've got a decent staff even without Dickey. It's your offense that really needs some beefing up.
