peterms
Chips and Gravy from Needless Alley Chippy.... the best food ever!! That was a great chippy wasn't it? The best in the whole world, and I defy anyone to disagree  This one's good. Most of the old favourites, and also haggis, jalapeno peppers, and Roman-style fried fish. Oh, and deep-fried pizza to please the locals... http://www.lalbadoro.com/chippy.htm

bickster Posted March 8, 2007 Moderator Share Posted March 8, 2007 If I was to have an all-time champion chip accompanyment it would have to be the curry sauce only available from the bottom chip shop in the village of Hirwaun Its homemade to a secret recipe So nice is it, every time I try curry sauce from any other chip shop it always disappoints and I usually throw the chips away and buy another packet But normally I'm just a Salt and plenty of vinegar man
Anthony Posted March 8, 2007 VT Supporter Share Posted March 8, 2007 Gotta be mayo for me. Though no cheap mayo, and I need about one tablespoonful per chip. Was at Glasgow airport Burger King years ago and when ordering my 'meal' they asked me if I would like extra salt. Weirdos. Another fun story is when Peter Mandelson was visiting a Yorkshire colliery and showed his working class roots by eating in the canteen. When going along the buffet he spotted and asked for a little dollop of guacamole. The reply? Them's mushy peas lad. Priceless.
