  1. Well, yes and no. The "general public have to suffer" thing is also a line that the managment will use to attempt to emotionally blackmail staff. Ive only ever been involved in one strike ballot (and i voted against the strike) which incidently, never happened. And that excuse was used against us. People should have the right to demand improved terms and conditions. People should have the right to withdraw labour. If that wasnt the case, a lot of us would still be working in victorian style sweatshops. Maybe services had to suffer to get us out of these sweatshops. Its about balance. If you have serious concerns about the way your job is going, then you should have the right to do something about it. We shouldnt be like the French though, who seem to go on strike if they dont like the colour of the new carpet in the office!
  2. The Playstation 3 is quite new, apparently...
  3. I still think Moyles is in the same boat contractually as Paxman. Personally, i wouldnt have crossed the picket line if i had been him, but then i work in a highly unionised industry (i think the union im in, ASLEF has an almost 100% membership rate)
  4. Ok, the BBC have been on strike today. Some 11,000 of their staff are taking action it seems. Now im not sure what unions are involved , but i think its more than one. Anyway, they have had a picket line outside of BBC buildings throughout Britain, and the actions of two of the most high profile employees were very different. Chris Moyles crossed the picket line. Jeremey Paxman refused to.
  5. This is how you get to **** Amarillo whats that?
  6. Hopefully we will be bringing some real quality in soon. Berger and Hughes are decent players, but are they a better class of player than we already have at B6? Im not so sure. A good sign is that we are moving early. Moving early could well mean that you have lots of targets, or you want to beat your rivals to players you are in for. Villa usually bring players in after pre season training has started. I could never see the logic in that. Im glad we seem to be moving away from that this year.
  7. Giving that the Geordies are sad to be seeing him go, i guess that means he must be a good player.
  8. I wouldnt pay more than about £80 for some shades. I was looking in town the other day, and they were asking closer to £200 for some Oakleys. **** that. My Glastonbury Sunglasses will be petrol station specials. Cos i know ill break them. Or lose them. Or break them then lose them.
  9. Ill renew. Football for me is as much about having a day out with my mates, as watching the game, and over the years ive made some good friends down the Villa just because they happened to have a season ticket in the same area of the Holte as i have.
  10. Anyone but Palace, and thats simply because their ground is the biggest bastard to get to in England. But i do like Dowie. However, i feel his long term future is very much in the Premiership. Away from the Eagles.
  11. What do Tony Blair and Wayne Rooney have in common? They would both **** anything with a pension.
  12. call me a cynic, but...
  13. That is the closest its been in Nuneaton for a looong time. I think the majority was well over 10,000 Labour in 1997, and a similar amount in 2001. I think there was something like a 12% swing to the Tories this time. I cant understand for the life of me why people would vote for a Tory candidate to represent Nuneaton, when he doesnt eben live in the constituancy though. He lives a good 15 miles away in Rugby. I cant vote for someone to represent me who doesnt even live where i live. At least now we are marginal we might finally have an intersting election here next time around. Perhaps the Lib Dems will take this seat more seriously too, and put forward a candidate who actully lives in the west midlands! This time their candidate lived in Nottingham. An hours drive away! Im not sure about the local council elections, but i think Labour will have probably held on there. Over the last couple of years, Nuneaton is actually having some money spent on it. The entire town centre is being pretty much rebuilt, and its nice to see Warwickshire county council's money finally being dragged away from the affluent Warwick, Leamington and Stratford to the place with the biggest population in the county. That was long overdue.
  14. Do you reckon Tarquin Fintimlimbimlimbim- whimbimlin Bus Stop Ftang Ftang Olay Biscuit Barrel (silly party) is standing this year?
  15. I found, much to my surprise, that my polling station is almost directly opposite another polling station. Oh, and for the Parliamentary election, only the Labour and UKIP candidates actually live in Nuneaton. The Tory bloke lives in Rugby, and the Lib Dem bloke lives about 50 miles away in Nottingham! Looks like another Labour win for Nuneaton..
  16. If he did play, he would be the worst player in the XI, wouldnt he?
  17. As Villa will inevitably sign players from a relegated club, perhaps we should hope that Chelsea get 65 points deducted as a penalty for tapping up Ashley Cole, go down, and let us have Lampard, Robben, Terry and Cech at knockdown prices?
  18. I dont want to see all three promoted clubs go straight back down. I agree with Dan about Palace, but i like Dowie (mind you, i think his managerial futute is very much in the premiership, away from Palace) I dont have a prefrence between WBA and Norwich. If the Baggies stay up, its good for West Midlands football, if Norwich do it, then its proof that nice guys dont have to finish last.
  19. The best thing is, i honestly dont know! Ive voted Palace, but only because i want to see the poll results.
  20. Ive voted Robben on this seasons form. Like Pires, he can go inside and out. He can score, and he can assist, he can play on either flank with ease.. Erm, ive just talked myself into saying Pires now! Super Bobby Pires. Good for 15-20 goals a season from Midfield, and even when he isnt scoring, he is creating. Superb player. Robben is class too though. Those two players for me.
  21. Baseball caps are ok. Its **** who practically live in them that make me laugh. Me, i like to wear my Glastonbury hat whenever i can. As expertly modeled by Maccer as mentioned above, and made famous by Stone Roses drummer, Reni, who was hardly ever seen without one, was he?
  22. If number 5 was good enough for God, then its good enough for me.

well, its on a PC in a cybercafe near Marylebone Station, London, NW1. I left her signed in. Someone should go down there. As you walk in, its the furthest one on the right hand wall. I think they are open 24 hours.
