    THE Pint

Im with the Designer. Un Stella Artois s'il vous plaît.
  2. Mellberg doesnt seem to be playing on his own for us anymore, certainly, and we seem to be doing less desperate defending (where Ollie shined) under O'Leary than we did under GT and towards the end of JG. I dont think Ollie has had his best season for us this time, but it would be nice for him to actually have a settled partner! Barry, despite showing flashes of form and ability from time to time, is a shadow of the player he was a couple of years ago.
  3. Harton vs Berkovic on the training ground..
  4. Then Mellberg could have ran on the park, and decked everybody.
  5. Love the way that "junk food" "McDonalds" and "KFC" are all seperate options...
  6. I would say Hendrie. Delaney has hardly played (again) We all knew Nobby was class. He just took a while to settle in. Joining a club mid season can do that, i guess. McCann has probably had his best season for us, but was always a good player anyway. Henrdrie has showed the sort of form we havent seen since the days when he first broke into the team. Barry is still a shadow of the player he was two or three years ago.
  7. Not will they be banned during the semi, or what punishment will the FA dish out, but if the fight hadnt been split, who would have won?
  8. All the best people were born in 1979... let the love-in continue & reign, Rev I think all of your posts are filled with wit, humour and that oh so rare commodity, intelligence... actually, I seem to remember that you said you were 26... so, you have your birthday pretty early in the year too?... Mine's Jan 26... et toi? Are you a fellow aquarian born in 1979? apparently, it was the worst winter in years when I was born... All the best people are in fact, 1979 born Aquarians. You are less than two weeks older than me, i was born on February 6th, 1979. It was the 21st anniversary of thr Man Utd air disaster, and Blondie were number one in the UK with "heart of glass" Incedently, when you were born, Ian Dury and the Blockheads were number one in the UK with "hit me with your rythym stick"
  9. All the best people were born in 1979...
  10. Xbox controller S's are fantastic. They just feel of a much higher quality than the PS2 dualshock. Love the longer cables, and the anti trip feature on the wire too. The best controller in my opinion is the Gamecube one though. The anologue feels so much better than anything else (and particularly better than the flappy dualshock) and its just so comfortable to hold. The cable is very short though. Im thinking that all the next generation machines will have wireless conrollers as standard next time, and Sony will FINALLY put more than two controller ports on the front of their machine..
  11. You can, but some of the newer games check your hard drive apparently. You certainly cant play hooky games on Live.
  12. The one bastard thing is that using modded Xboxes on Xbox live is a right bastard. One of my fave things about the Xbox is the online element.
  13. I was 26 in February. My mate had a Colecovision. We used to play Mr Do! all the time. We even had our own lyrics for all the little jingles.
  14. first gaming i remeber, is Mr Do! on the Colecovision.
  15. What, even better than this version?
  16. Ok, is this a "best console?" question, or a "what console do you own?" question? No doubt the PS2 will win the poll, because of its larger userbase. For me, it has to be the Xbox. Ive owned all three, and also use a PC for gaming, so i feel im qualified to talk. Xbox live is the best way to play games online. Its miles better than the PC online games. Also, Xbox is better graphically, and is the only console that can transmit true 5.1 surround sound. Ok, some games are now made in Dolby Pro Logic II these days, which really adds to a game. I think graphically, games are getting to the point where all developers can add is spit and polish. Sound design is the next big thing, particularly with the rise in popularity of home cinema encouraging decent surround tracks into games. Games like FPS and stealth games really need to be played in surround to get the most out of them. The Xbox does this better than any other. The Xbox has a hard drive, which i think should be essential for all consoles from now on in. You cant beat custom soundtracks in games, and the ability to download things. I also think the Xbox has the best exclusive games. Nintendo made games are always going to be quality. PS2 games tend to be largely sequels of shit that we have all played to death (particularly the bollocks that EA continue to release!) or converted to all other formats, where the Xbox version (and Gamecube and PC versions) will be better. This is largely because Sony tried some experement with parallel processing, which really hasnt worked. The machine is a bitch to program for, and get the best out of. Despite this, Sony seem to be going with parallel processing for the PS3. Microsoft have decided to go with an uber-PC in a box. Which will be the best will be interesting to look out for. The original Playstation was the best console of its era. Sony got everything right. Now they just cant be arsed, because they know that the average gamer will buy any old shite, therefore the PS2 has suffered. A shame.
  17. I sometimes buy it, sometimes i dont. It depends on whether there is a Villa story on the back or not. I cant see myself changing that habit.
  18. Whats the bet he ends up and Bolton, and turns out to be brilliant for them?
  19. from that list, Zola. Played football in the way it is meant to be played.
  20. A call for Savo? He was a half decent player, but very frustrating. Also, spitting at the Villa Fans at Ewood Park wasnt the most crowd endering thing a player has ever done..
  21. Mr Taylor. McGrath was our best player, but Taylor was a Holte Ender who lived the dream* so it has to be him. *yep, he could pause live TV.
  22. Its got to be Wenger. All Arsenal's cash he has generated himself through the transfer market. His real big money signings (Henry, Wiltord, Reyes) didnt even cost as much as he got for the likes of Anelka and Overmars. Also, Arsenal, for large parts of 2004 were the best team ive ever seen. I dont mean in an "efficient" way like Chelsea seem to be this season either. I mean they played some uttery breathtaking football. Any scholar of the beautiful game should be applauded.
  23. Yeah, but Santa doesnt **** about. He is surprisingly quick for a fat fella.
  24. you think laughing at people with MS and Cancer was a bit much? maybe you have a point...
