Just a random thought...but shouldn't he be knocking Konsa's chip in so it's nestling in the net without any chance of it hitting the post/getting cleared?
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the position he took, as is evidenced by the fact he tucked the ball away after the Wolves lad cleared it from behind the line. -

How Rogers got another start straight away after West Ham I’ll never understand
lack of options. McGinn suspended, Kamara ACL & JJ is made of glass. -
Spurs always score at the death.

These Gordon penalties sound an awful lot like fouls that Grealish used to win for us.
No. The second one was like that time Bruno Fernandes stamped on Ez Konsa and won a penalty. -

People do bemoan the loss of the trinity but by all accounts, it was falling apart and had to go. We could have done a much more sympathetic rebuild,, and it seemed a bit odd that we didn't when compared what we did to the Holte, but what has happened has happened.
It's been a sore point for years, but realistically if the new stand needed to be bigger then it had to go over the top of Trinity Road and having a red brick Victorian facade in the style of Archibald Leitch was borderline impossible.

The clip.
Like @MaVilla I work in a safety critical environment where we are drilled on communication protocols. The VAR guys could do with bringing some outside consultation in to bring them up to speed.
I still think it was a red.

Don’t go again then!!
Ive just remembered I went one other time when John Harley scored for them from about 45 yards out but that game was when they were ground sharing with QPR at Loftus Road. Basically I’m Jonah.

I’ve been twice. Last season and the one where JPA missed two penalties.

I think Fulham are currently my second favourite club. They are in line for some kind of award for services to Aston Villa given that:
-
They got rid of Dr Tony by beating us in the playoff final.
-
They got rid of Slippy G by hammering us at Craven Cottage last season.
-
Gave us six points this season.
-
Just after losing to us they go to Old Trafford and win.
- Just after Spurs beat us they host them at Craven Cottage and win.
Up the Fulham!

@MrBlack There's no way Ollie will want to pull out of this squad. This will be the one which determines if he goes to the Euros or not, and being part of a squad that travels to an International Tournament is bucket list stuff for professional footballers.

Last night was absolutely his best performance in a Villa shirt. He looks like a guy who needs to play on the edge, I think if he chills out he might not be as the same player but he needs to find a way to channel the energy. Physically he has everything, he has the pace and power which even the most cultured defender will struggle to deal with, Ajax simply couldn't handle him. Getting him in the same team as Watkins is going to be difficult given our tactical identity and I suspect that's going to be the factor that determines Duran's long term future at the club. I do hope he can play a role during our run in.

Oh it was. It was a horrible challenge.- 1

That square ball is suicidal. We’ve ridden our luck with it a few times but it’s obvious Spurs were looking to pounce on it.

Is the Liverpool vs Manchester City game the World Cup final or something?

I really wish Ollie would have a crack with his left foot when it opens up for him.

Watkins isn’t making it through the 90 today.

he’s taken the option today where none of his regular starters feel overlooked
I'm not sure Unai rolls like that. He's been happy to leave big signings on the bench and sub off people who have been subbed on so it's always been about what's good for the team not what's good for people's egos.

Has been labelled a flop in some parts of German media with claims he is slowing Bayern down
I find that surprising. I’m not following the Bundesliga too closely but I listen to a couple of podcasts that cover it fairly closely (Totally Football Show and Stadio, which is based in Germany) who seem to suggest that Kane & Musiala are carrying Bayern this season.- 1

Bayern turning back into Bayern now the league has gone. Won 8-1 today, Harry Kane with another hat trick which takes him to 30 league goals (25 appearances) and 36 in all competitions (34 appearances) for the season. Even if he doesn’t win anything it’s another remarkable season individually.

We do need to try and get ourselves up for these games in Europe. Imagine us in champions league next season playing to this level .
Huge caveat tonight is we are 60 hours away from a potentially season defining game against a Spurs team who have only played once in the past three weeks. They’ll have a huge advantage in being fully rested for the fixture and tonight was just about getting through the 90 minutes unscathed.- 1

Did Ian Taylor seriously just say “nobody ever talks about Emi Martinez” in his post match analysis?

Dafuq is this referee smoking?

@LondonLax It was going to be helpful either way tbh. Sociedad going out was more predictable but very helpful.

Good performance undone by self inflicted wounds. Not having Zaniolo in that wall.
