I think the 3 promoted clubs will all be relegated next season too.

Gap between PL and the Champ is getting larger every season

Last season the three promoted sides all stayed up so jumping to conclusions based on one season isn’t ideal.

Has any team every conceded 100?

Swindon but in a 42 game season. Most in a 38 game season is that Derby team with 89 conceded.  Swindon’s goals per game was worse (-2.38 vs -2.34). Sheffield United are currently shipping at a rate of 2.7 per game.

  3. This is probably already in the thread somewhere but for my own sanity the points tally of the club finishing 4th:

    22/23 - Newcastle - 71

    21/22 - Tottenham - 71

    20/21 - Chelsea - 67

    19/20 - Chelsea - 66

    18/19 - Tottenham - 71

    17/18 - Liverpool - 75

    16/17 - Liverpool - 76

    15/16 - Manchester City - 66

    14/15 - Manchester United - 70

I can’t see sixty something being enough for 4th this year, it might get 5th and the bonus spot if England get the coefficient but 11 games to get 20 points and I’ll be happy.  We just need to keep ticking along at the rate we have been since Unai arrived at the club.

I think 70+ will be enough for top 5.

It probably will but I’m working under the assumption that we need top 4. We should be aiming for top 4.  If fifth ends up having a spot too I’ll take it of course but we shouldn’t be hoping for a back door way of getting in if we can help it.

How's JJ. I'm in the car. You've all gobe quite on the injury

Part of me thinks it’s funny to be like the 8th guy to quote you, but despite being back on the pitch he’s hobbling a little bit. His half time is definitely gonna be spent with the physio.

Saw something on social media the other day; Cafu pretty much blaming the Premier League for Brazil not winning anything for the best part of 20 years and insinuating that if Brazilian players had stayed on the continent in Spain (or in his case, Italy), they would have won more by now

Because that’s held Argentina back of course.  It’s a bollocks argument.

Plop have now won the league cup 10 times. Given it has been running for a little over 60 years that is nearly a win every half a dozen years. They really love a league cup.

They didn’t even win their first one until 1981 so it’s been more frequent than that.

Guy on the radio said they’ve only won it in 90 minutes twice.

Physically looks like he should dominate. Has all the technical traits you want in an attacker. For whatever reason it isn't working out. Glad it's just a loan.

He has had two ACLs. That’s got to have had some impact on his game.

Was amazing today in the first half - I think we were 2-0 up, and he was going mad telling Digne something on the bench. You could see Digne was looking at him and saying “what?!” but the look on his face said that Unai is a mad man!

I was coming into the thread to ask about this. From the North Stand we could see Unai was going mental at someone on the bench but couldn’t see who it was or why. It went on for ages though, I’d love to know what triggered it.

  10. Odd game.  Felt we looked great going forwards but seemed hell bent on gifting them a cheap goal.   Massive performances from Watkins and Bailey, it’s hard to say who played better out of those two.  Felt Tielemans had a good game too, especially after the Forest fans started giving him stick in the first half, it seemed to make him roll his sleeves up and really get stuck in.

Dougie got overrun a few times in the middle, that’s something we are going to have to deal with after Kamara's ACL but it does need dealing with. Going forwards he was great.  Nice to see Digne back in the team too.

Overall it was decent. We let them back into the game unnecessarily but we do seem to be able to react to things happening on the pitch and we reacted well today.
