    Age

I'm just interested to know what sort of age range we have on this website. I've done nice broad categories and ofcourse it's anonymous unless you wish to disclose to the unenlightened.
  2. Don;t think MGP would be signing after his comments about Baros
  3. Angel is 30, I don't see him in the long term future of the club. We need to replace him (with Ashton... please) next summer.
  4. ratboy makes afair point, but I feel when JPA gets his confidence back he might find the extra spring to win some more headers. Still, give me Dean Ashton anyday.
  5. Angel because otherwise our strike force wouldn't measure 6ft put together. We need some aerial prescence.
  6. Phillips, only because we need some aerial prescence.
  7. I hope thats tongue in cheek. Pessimism is inevitable with a club like ours but some people really do take the piss. Baros will sign, if he doesn't, I'll personally fly to Mexico and get you a tequila.
  8. This is a silly poll. The entire kitty is not necessarily Baros for a start. Secondly, we don't need a creative midfielder as much as we need a centre-back or indeed a left back, which DOL appreciates. Therefore I would spend money on Baros, a CB and a LB iff possible and leave a creative midfielder for another time.
  9. When I said 'top' strikers I exaggerated. Angel, Vassell, Phillips are, like most strikers, subject to huge flucuations in form, as is Milan Baros. If strikers aren't scoring it costs the team. I think the strikers we have will take it on the chin if they are not performing. By keeping Baros and Vassell we would show intentions of ambiton. If one striker isn't performing, we can change him around. Plus you have to bear in mind injuries too. I think we would be fine with 4 strikers plus Moore and I'd like to see it happen. But I don't believe it will.
  10. Baros runs the flanks too, and actually gets into goalscoring positions and takes his chances. I would still like both though, We shouldn't need to sell, competition is good and we need 4 top strikers, Moore is not yet a top striker.
  11. Yeah but then how many times do we hear DOL telling us that we suffer after South American internationals because they are tired. I wouldn't be dissapointed if we were looking at South Americans though because it is a beatiful football continent. I always buy South Americans on my Football Manager :winkold:
  12. That was said tongue-in-cheek JC but if you have any better info on this guy do share it with us :?:
  13. Vassell I dnon't think will be first choice next term, so what we will see is him coming on for the last 20 minutes of games and giving everyhting. That it what he does (or did) for England and he was bloody good at it. A super-sub can get you probably an extra 12 points or so a season so ofcourse we should keep him. Also, he's one of the only Villa fans left in our squad.
  14. Not bad on football manager, not great stats but always plays well and scores goals. Let's get him... ... ...
  15. Doesn't possess the strength or the work rate of Vassell, even if he is a better finisher. Vassell must stay, even if he is not 1st choice.
  16. Absolute crap. Its been on there every day for the last couple of weeks. We can but dream... More realistically, how about Fernando Cavenaghi from Shaktar??
  17. I don't read The Sun, I read the Times and I've read what might be his business plan. I have not formulated an opinion on him yet. We'll see if he is good for them, but whatever I think, whenever you put a club in large debt with unhappy fans then its a risk, and it remains to be seen whether it will pay off. I'm no Ellis fan but hes not going to ruin our finances even if our team isn't what it might be.
  18. After all the fuss that the United fans have been making, burning season ticket/effergies of Malcolm Glazer etc.. I was jus wondering if we would rather see Doug (no introduction needed) Ellis running the club or an American who knows nothing about football and would raise prices for everything from tickets to merchandise by dramatic amounts aswell as landing us in significant debt which there are no gurantees could be payed back.
  19. 9. I no this isn't the site to admit being an optimist but for the moment it makes my life happier. If we havnt signed 2 real quality players by August then it'll be 3. I'm stiil keeping the faith, how boring the summer must be for all the cynics, even if they do turn out to be right
  20. Guti is possibly looking not to move to Aston Villa
  21. IF we pull of the deals of a sturdy defender, a creative midfielder and and top striker, then we can start talking about the UEFA cup. Otherwise its mid-table. IF IF IF...
  22. I'm still hopeful of Bellamy, but if that doesn't go through then I have no idea. Keane to Newcastle probs.. Smith? Bent? Saha? some unheard of foriegner? I just don't know
  23. Indeed, Malbranque please and there are a few players not mentioned in the list, of whom Alan Smith or Louis Saha would be included
