Bairstow who scored over 1,000 runs at an average of over 66 in 2022 and currently has 98 runs from the first test in this series.

This is up there with the most reactionary topics on here. We score a few runs and everything is fine then we lose a wicket or 2 and everyone is crap (even those who haven’t even come out to bat yet).

This test match is very much in the balance and we’ll risk a loss going for the win. They’ve openly said that’s how they’re going to play so it’s hardly a surprise we haven’t suddenly reverted to a slow test match style of batting on a day that looks pretty good for batting.

Because England can bat aggressively and proactively and push the score along at 5 or 6 an over without the crap that we've seen since the Lyon injury.

Once again, this is literally the only way the Aussies can get England out on this pitch. Did you think Cameron Green's dismissal yesterday was brave attempt to play it or a **** brainless swipe with his team set?

  2. Another brainless, brainless dismissal.

Just as well noted cerebral batting wonders Bairstow and Stokes are yet to come. **** me. Australia will have a 100 run lead at this rate. I can't believe the total lack of accountability and leadership in this side

  3. Australia, struggling on a slowish pitch and with Lyon injured, desperately fall on their last resort of putting men on the boundary hoping the English batsmen will brainlessly sky it. So what do they do whilst comfortably going along? They **** oblige. Absolutely awful the dismissals. All 3 wicket balls could have been scored off aggressively and safely.

I wish Australia were this **** stupid with their wickets

  4. Trying to work out the more stupid decision.

    1) The declaration with Root well over a century and set whilst still under 400 on DAY ONE

    2) Getting Carey out after 81 overs with Aus 228-8 with the old ball and then not immediately switching to the new ball - instead letting Cummins (a known slogger who targets spin) target your part-time spinner for about 30 runs and put them into a winning position

    3) Not picking your best wicket-keeper so you can watch Jonny Bairstow flounder around gifting Australia another 200 runs rather than just selecting him as a batter

Then you've got the Duckett and Crawley constant failures, Moeen Ali adding nothing other than stat-padding the Australian batsmens test averages and picking half-fit bowlers.

Maybe Australia will have their batsmen suffer similar levels of abject stupidity for the next 4 tests. We can only hope.

  5. Continued my Roy Scheider re-watch by re-watching Jaws (Amazon Prime... i think). God its a masterpiece. Incredible performances, great direction and that horror of such a fearsome shark being in the water right where YOU are still hits hard to this day.

  6. Finished the main game of Ragnarok last weekend. On my way to try and get the Platinum challenges now. But wow - what a game. GoW 2018 is one of my all-time favourites and this is a great follow-up. Nitpicking I would say I didn't enjoy the

    Spoiler

First time you meet Angrboda and have to spend a load of time in a slow, boring Jotunheim mission and the Gryla fight I thought was a bit boring but most of my friends enjoyed that so...

On the plus side the voice acting is superb. Richard Schiff is **** excellent as Odin and Ryan Hurst is superb as Thor in the small doses you get him. Christopher Judge is (again) absolutely superb and got most of the biggest laughs from me.

Other spoilery things I enjoy are

    Spoiler

The Draupnir Spear!!! **** fantastic to have a weapon that is so useful and quick to throw. The Leviathan Axe is fun but being able to quickthrow about 5 spears into someone's body and then detonate them - very cathartic. Also the attack where you can use the spear to siphon the power of your opponent out, like getting the Bifrost out of the Einherjar to attack them back with was super fun.

The enemy variety was good too. Special shout out to the Phantoms.

Overall an exceptional game and for any sequel or followup for GoW, in the words of Kylian Mbappe, I will be there no matter what

A god-damned masterpiece.  The cinematography throughout is stunning but the denouement, when Scanlon's carrying the nitroglycerin to the oil field, out of this world.

Yeah it's incredible. I think only about 50 people alive have seen the film sadly

Packers fans over here in the States are a bit like Arsenal fans in the UK.  Most aren't from Wisconsin, they moan about everything, they always think they're better than they actually are, and are quick to gloat whenever they win a game.  They're always good to laugh at.

Oh don't worry I haven't missed how obnoxious Packers fans are. They're owed some crap QB play for 30 or so years after having Favre and Rodgers back to back

    Another WR??

Allen or Williams are definitley gone after next year then, strange pick and feels like a waste

6 man WR room for a team that usually names 4

Edit - unless he can return? Maybe ST pick up

WRs on day 3 tend to be rotational pieces and ST options. I'm trying to think of our day 3 WRs recently and the best one is probably Jauan Jennings followed by Kendrick Bourne (UDFA) who were both gimmick players who basically could catch anything on 3rd down but nothing on 1st or 2nd

Eisen was beyond happy :D That said, IF you nail down a reliable kicker for 15 years it's worth more than a 3rd rounder. Never seen a SB winner with a bad kicker. And you have a gazillion picks left

I mean yeah it's important to nail down a kicker. But he would have been there in the 4th, and we could have traded down into it from one of our 3 3rd round picks. The TE pick looks worse and worse in the cold light of day, can't picture anyone picking him prior to the 6th round.

Genuinely think this is our crappest draft in 11 years. Only 2012 has been worse recently than this and that's because there wasn't a single starter in that draft
