  1. Stupid thing is Green grassed one off Gill in the WTC final and so did Smith off Root previously just as unclear and unable to be given out.... and they were given. You've got to be consistent. If a hand isn't clearly under the ball and you "can't tell" it has to be given not out

  2. 1 down. 9 to go. Side note, not sure why we've already bowled Moeen this early. I don't think his bowling is smart enough to get batsmen out unless they're ramping him and the pitch doesn't look a spinners dream

Sunday afternoon looks decent. 3ish sessions to bowl them out is more than enough.

We're quite slow with our overs and they have Smith, Labuschagne, Carey and Khawaja who can stick in with Green, Head, Marsh, Warner and Starc being fast scorers. We took 3 and a bit sessions to bowl them out when they were being a little bit sloppy. I think this will be a battle

  4. Feel as funny as that was (and it was very very funny) we've batted way too long. This pitch is flat and not doing loads. Smith and Labuschagne will feast if we're not smart. Let's hope we can gouge out 5 of them before the close. Reckon we'll have them at best 2 down though

  5. Kinda feels like a below part morning.... but we've got 500 on the board. We need to make our bowling count. Get those top 5 out as cheaply as possible or they'll hurt us. We've only got potentially 5 sessions to get out a deep batting lineup

  6. You'd have to imagine Australia will bat much better second innings on a helpful surface. But this has been some really negative bowling from Australia. England-esque (of previous years that is)

  7. Root out for under 100 too which is a shame. Means instead ofa huge last hour its a rebuild with two new batters. We need 100+ overs to get Australia out however on this surface so our time is valuable
