  1. Most teams picked best player available, few big trades... Houston really gambling for it to get 2nd and 3rd pick. Not sure I would have gone for an RB with a top 10 pick like the Falcons have.... but we're not picking until late today anyway so my opinion is moot. Lions taking an RB bit of a headscratcher too

  2. Denzel Washington double header on Sunday. Watched Man On Fire for the first time in about 15 years and it's Tony Scott as hell although a bit heavier than, for example, Unstoppable. What I'd give to have Tony Scott back with us for another Scott/Denzel collaboration.

Followed up by my maybe 49th watch of Inside Man which is just great fun.

    Both on Amazon Prime.

Is this a new remake or do you have to see the previous movie?

The only thing you need to see the previous movie for is in a filmmaking class on what not to do when you want to make a film. This stands alone and is far far far far far far better

  4. Watching Crimson Tide (on Disney+) - far from the best film going but Tony Scott and Denzel rarely make an unenjoyable combination. Hackman and Washington both with good chemistry

My favourite movie of all time.

    Flawless imo.

(Did you notice how the shots get closer and closer to the actors as the tension rises throughout the movie? Such a great detail.)

Also they move the walls very slightly in throughout the film, enclosing them all in..... i think the storm breaks when the jury is completely hung and the fan only starts working when the jury is in favour of acquittal. A gloriously shot film.

  6. Re-watched 12 Angry Men after it was called out in here the other day. It might be one of the 5 best films ever made. Everyone in that film is on their A-game. Imagine this being your debut film you directed. Sidney Lumet is directing the hell out of this as well.

  7. Devil is definitely more interesting in parts than other Shyamalan films (albeit not strictly his film) but I wouldn't describe it as anything above "fine". It's not as laughably bad as Lady in the Water or The Happening.

Not sure if I put in here before (didn't notice it on a quick skim) but I think Top Secret! is very underrated

Disappointing lack of Knopfler-related puns in response to this.

They wanted to move the business to South Africa but the Rand's too strong

  9. I believe its his engine control unit, it was replaced before the race due to an issue then the replacement failed in the race.... meaning he's now on unit number 3. With 1 race done. Impressive even by Ferrari's standards
