  1. I disagree. We should sing it as our tribute to that great side
  2. Morales - going back to the legendary side that won the title and euro cup - I can remember as a kid singing a version of this. It went On the 1st day of xmas my true love sent to me Jimmy Rimmer as a goalie and then carried on all the way through to 12. so ended up with 12 David Geddis 11 Tony Morley 10 Sid Cowans' 9 Peter Withe' 8 Gary Shaw' 7 Des Bremners' 6 Dennis Mortimers' 5 Kennnn Macnauuught' 4 Allan Evans 3 Gary Williams' 2 Kenny Swain' and Jimmy Rimmer as a goalie Doubt it will catch on in any format cuz the atmosphere down VP is just gettin worse with every game
  3. IMO Yesterdays performance or lack of lies squarely at the managers feet. Everybody knows that when you play Arsenal you have to be right in their faces. Squeezing the play, pressing in midfield and if necessary roughing them up.We sat back, played deep and allowed Arsenal to do what they do best. I was fuming at half time because we saw what we could do against Manure when we press and play at high tempo, so why send the side out like that. I'm a little concerned cuz it was exactly the same against sha. Surely the performance against Man U shows we are so much better when we play at high tempo. Sort it our GH or we could be in for a very very long season
  4. As been said before but that certainly lived upto its billing. Absolutely brilliant day until that **** equaliser. Support was brilliant. I was at back of stand and had a great view of the 'shoes off' it was brilliant. pretty unique I think and something we should do more often away from home. My mate tried to go for jeans off if you love villa but the stewards stopped us just as I had my trousers round my knees. However the steward did act with a great deal common sense and good nature maybe we should get him a job down VP. Common lads we need to create that sought of atmosphere down VP
  5. I was originally catching 8.52 moor street to Marylebone but that is terminating at Banbury and shipped onto bus. So now catching 9.22 changing at Oxford and getting into Paddington at 12. In plenty of time to get to Zulu bar. Happy days bring it on
  6. Now come on!!!! the one way of guaranteeing a brick down the throat is to sit in their end. Picture yourself sitting there when Gabby scored his 2 latre goals against them. Can you honestly say you'd sit there in silence. An absolute impossibility for anybody with claret and blue blood. You are clearly insane
  7. If you can sit in the scum bags end in silence when we score then you are some kind of freak
  8. Did anyone actually believe he would score - I know I didn't. As has been said you could see he didn't believe he could do it himself, so what chance was there. Shame cuz it would have capped his best performance in ages
  9. I didn't think the atmosphere was that great apart from one or two times during the 2nd half. As some said its hard to get atmosphere going when you are spread so far along one side of the ground. However I was speaking to a mate of mine after the game, who for his sins is a dingle, and he said that after Heskey scored it was the loudest away support he had heard in ages
  10. General All I would say is that ALL clubs have an element of extreme support and they donot take into consideration who they offend, or the manner in which they choose to air their 'extremism'. Generally their comments are bereft of any factual content and based on an emotional outburst. These post are pretty easy to spot in my opinion and should be treated with the contempt they deserve. Anybody with any intelligence will understand the difficulties that you face in the recruitment of such an high profile position and will understand that you can not tell us what you would like to. I often wonder what it is that keeps you on these forum' but I also know that it is greatly appreciated by the majority. Good luck with the recruitment and only time will tell whether it is the right one or not. I am 100% confident that it won't be for the want of trying. I hope that you can see through all the bullshit and will continue to give us an in sight as to the goings on at Villa Park Keep up the good work
  11. This poll for me shows up two things that really get on my nerves: 1. How everyone is being brainwashed into believing that the Champions league is the be all and end all. 2. Finishing fourth is better than winning. Shows why the English as a nation lack that winning menality that let say the aussies have.
  12. I think the OP makes this an easy decision. Winning the world cup would be an unbelieveable achievement. Finishing fourth is winning absolutely jack shit so it has to be England for me. Change the post to Villa winning any trophy and I'd pick Villa every time. Villa is where the heart is and no matter how good it would be to see England win the world cup for me it would never match seeing the captain of Villa with a trophy above his head.
  13. Tismyk I was just about to post that. Those are pretty much the words I remember Easily the best Villa song ever. Wish it was still sung in its complete form. Me and my mate sing this in the pubs when we go away but hardly anybody knows it. We'll have to arrange to meet up next season and spread the word.
  14. Anybody remember Oh I do like to be beside the seaside Oh I do like to be beside the sea Oh I do like to walk along the prom prom prom Where the brass band play F*ck off west brom and Birmingham F*ck off West Brom and Birmingham and zulus and zulus
  15. Just another thing to cheer us up. We're the only team to do the double over them this season. Oh happy days Knuckle draggers know your place
  16. When are these clearings in the woods gonna learn the rules. Johnson' challenge didnot dispossess aggy, the ball was still in play so when he brought him down it was a Penalty 100%. **** knuckle dragging retards
  17. As most of you have said, who gives a ****. Remember the decisions that went against us in the ccf and the FA cup semi. We were due one and its was nowhere near as contencious as those two decisions. Anyway I for one love listening to the knuckle draggers crying in their beer, some how this feels almost as good as the 5-1 humping we dished out to them.
  18. it maybe the real world but would you think like that if you were one of the players. I certainly hope not. I'd call you a defeatest. No point anybody going into a game with that attitude
  19. Dunno about you guys but this game has the same feel about it as when we went to league Cup Final against Man U in '94. I remember waking up so excited by my 1st visit to Wembley that I could remember (went in '77 but remember F.A) but it was tainted by the anticipated belting that we were about to receive. We all know what happened. So I'm not sure if it is just blind faith, stupidity or naivety when I say 'I've got a good feeling about this one' KEEP THE FAITH
  20. Villa + FA Cup Semi final = effing magic I know Wembley is a bloody pain in the arse but surely that makes very little difference. For me they could play it anywhere they liked and i'd still be excited. Surely the fact that its the semi final of the FA Cup far outways any negatives. The only reason I can understand anybody not wanting to go would purely be financial. Anybody else, you could talk to me until you were blue in the face but I would never understand your reasons for not being excited or even worse not going at all.
  21. We waited 10 years to get to Wembley again. It was my dream to take my son there to watch Villa. He begged me to take him to the new wembley. I stead fastly rufused telling him that his 1st experience of Wembley had to be watching the Villa. Thankfully that wish came true in the Carling Cup and now we are set to go again. Even though I totally disapprove of semi finals being held at Wembley, I'm taking my son there to watch Villa again. Now it doesn't get much better than that, The dream now is for him to see us win there HELL YES I'm excited
