I'm not putting Hogan down but you can't leave Davis below Hogan on the pecking order after a performance like that. Also, Davis fits out style of play better.

You are right, I just am clinging on to Hogan being a success here, albeit with one fingernail rather than two hands

Whilst I kind of agree with what you are saying regarding hogan, McCormack is the most proven goal scorer at this level so would you put him ahead of the rest? For me it is not about being proven with different clubs but what the performance is like on match day in a villa shirt, so for now I would say Davis should be starting the next match up front until there is a reason to drop him whether that be a bad game or him being subbed off and someone coming on and offering more than he did. He suits us at the minute he is good in the air, strong and direct which is what we need plus he holds the ball up well and can bring others into play. Keep up the hard work Davis and long may this form continue. UTV

Yep. Absolutely right. Can't actually argue with that!

Davis should easily be ahead of Hogan in the pecking order.

Hate to put a downer on this but is that not a bit premature. Hogan is proven at this level yet Davis, as impressive as He was today, has for me only shown this in one game

Unlikely bruce will leave at this stage. But if it were to happen think rule out Dean smith. Currently bottom if nit good enough for brentford certsinly not good enough for us

Agree with this. Easy to be suckered in with the fact he is a villa fan but surely not the man to get us promoted?

Nope.  Not made up, you said it in another thread.

If you can't remember than maybe you're the one on the wind up.

    D'oh, foiled.

Got any proof there lad? Or are you just fibbing again to get yourself dome attention from your internet friends??

I saw Steve Bruce in the local ASDA the other day shopping for some plastic cutlery and pair of chop sticks, a cheap knock off Yankee candle and a packet of pork chops.  I asked him what he thought of the candles and if he thinks they smell as good as Yankee ones.  He said he enjoys Yankee candles more than the cheaper ones, but they'd ran out of his favourite fragrance, which happens to be "lavender meadow" - which to be honest took me by surprise because I think he looks like a "Berry burst" kinda bloke.

I asked him about the plastic cutlery and he said that he only has enough knives and forks for 2 people in his house, but he was expecting company, so he was going to make fish fingers, chips and beans and a portion of pork stir fry - hence the pork chops.

Rather interesting I'm sure you'll agree.

Go and have a little lie down...

  7. Hammering blues 5-1, fa cup semi final, league cup final, gabby and carew scoring for fun, petrov controlling games from midfield (remember his debut or his goal from the half way line?), the excitement every time ashley young ran at defenders (Everton away??), mellberg and laursen centre half, being a consistent top 6 team and the chase for the champions league each year.

No, you're right, I must have been drinking. Give me McLeish and Grant Holt every day of the week.
